Before finishing his XBB.1.5 theme song, Jimmy Fallon flashed the all-seeing eye of the Illuminati, what’s the message here? Do you remember what the very first thing Jesus said would be a sign you were living in the last days? Deception. In 2023, we are swimming in a veritable pool of deception that comes at us from every and all levels, with the deceivers double and triple-crossing themselves so it’s nearly impossible to unravel it at this point. Nearly, but not completely, as you shall soon see. “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive...

The often wrong but never in doubt New York Times economics columnist Paul Krugman is clearly neck-deep in denial about how bad the Biden economy really is. He whipped out a new catch-all to accuse so-called “election deniers” of also being “economy deniers.” Krugman railed in his Jan. 9 column, “Election Deniers Are Also Economy Deniers,” that “G.O.P. economic views are almost as divorced from reality as their political fantasies are.” It’s a mystery how Krugman can legitimately bellyache about people being “divorced from reality” in the face of his own dirty laundry list of terrible “transitory” inflation calls and...

Assigned to cover the re-election campaign of Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, Miles Cohen, a young ABC News reporter, found himself stymied. The governor would not grant him an interview. Aides barred him from some campaign events and interrupted his conversations with supporters. When Mr. Cohen was finally able to ask a question about the governor’s handling of Hurricane Ian, Mr. DeSantis shouted him down — “Stop, stop, stop” — and scolded the media for “trying to cast aspersions.” The DeSantis campaign then taunted Mr. Cohen on Twitter, prompting a torrent of online vitriol. So on election night, Mr. Cohen...

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., is introducing an amendment to the House rules on Tuesday to allow C-SPAN cameras on the House floor during normal proceedings. The amendment would require the speaker of the House to allow C-SPAN to broadcast the floor proceedings of the House, much like during the contentious House speaker vote last week. "I've received a lot of feedback from constituents about how interesting it was, and that you were able to see in real time how our government is functioning, what alliances are being created, what discussions are being had, what animated moments drive the action," Gaetz...

House Republicans and Democrats on Tuesday joined forces and voted overwhelmingly in favor of a new committee to examine U.S. strategic competition with China, after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy declared on the House floor that neither Republicans nor Democrats trust China anymore. "We spent decades passing policies that welcomed China into the global system," McCarthy said. "In return, China has exported oppression, aggression and anti-Americanism. Today, the power of its military and economy are growing at the expense of freedom and democracy worldwide." "It didn’t start under this administration, but the current administration has clearly made it worse," he continued....

God created us to be happy. But that means living closely with Him, and on His terms, in neverending perfect harmony -- what Adam and Eve couldn't keep, and no human being has been able to, either. It was apt, though, that the composers of the U.S. Declaration of Independence wrote that our God-given human rights were "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." For the pursuit of happiness drives every human being God created, as well as every animal. That is, the pursuit of happiness "as we understand it." And most of the time, that's not too well at...
