The acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Denis Pushlin, said the republic's cities of Soledar and Artemovsk were about to be liberated
MOSCOW, January 11./TASS/.The city of Soledar, the scene of intense fighting in the past few days, has been under the control by units of Russia's Wagner private military company, the company's Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was quoted as saying by his press service on Tuesday night.
"Units of the Wagner private military company have taken the entire territory of Soledar under their control. The city center has been surrounded, and urban warfare is underway. The number of captives will be announced tomorrow," Prigohzin was quoted on his company's Telegram channel.
The acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin, said the republic's cities of Soledar and Artemovsk were about to be liberated. Intense fighting is under way in those areas, he added.
Shhhhh... We still need to keep the money flowing to the DNC, via Ukraine.

LMAO
I”m not sure what the /sarc tag is about. Until just the last week, the story has been legitimately about Russian losses. Russia has regrouped and made a push for Soledar as they are trying to find a way around Ukrainian defenses in Bakhmut. In this case, staging to enter from the North, as directly attacking from the East has been repeatedly unsuccessful.
But here’s the thing - even the heavily pro-Ukrainian sources I’ve paid attention to have said Soledar would likely fall to Russia early this week - so no surprise (or denials).
At the same time - Russia has paid an extremely high price to claim Soledar -
Doesn’t sound very easy to me and they are still fighting in the urban center.
Be interesting to see how many POWs they took
The pro Russian posters here behave childishly about a war.
From TASS.
So it’s all lies.
L
totally unnecessary war
This was a corrupt Democrat/Deep-state plan from the beginning. It was meant to be Hillary’s war, but she screwed up, and let Trump in. So they had to keep the fraud alive by painting Trump as a Russian agent, no matter how ridiculous the charge
Trump avoided it for 4 years, but now they have installed Biden, so its full steam ahead
A digression but interesting nonetheless: https://nypost.com/2023/01/10/ukrainian-soldier-has-live-grenade-removed-from-torso/
they’ll get their bonus then...
“At the same time - Russia has paid an extremely high price to claim Soledar”
Hard to put lipstick on a pig.
Lack of lipstick causes flaccidity...
And remember they had to call up 300,000 Russian conscripts and reservists to accomplish this not quite a victory.
Sounds like Russia’s Nazi contractors are better than Russia’s own troops.
And remember that the Russian army was outnumbered by the AFU during the late summer because of enlistment expirations...
Well, ‘under control’ and ‘house to house fighting’ seem slightly inconsistent .
Why the quotes? Do you deny that Russia has had devastating loss after loss after loss? That they’ve already lost more military equipment than they had expected to use during the entire invasion? That they’ve been forced to call up hundreds of thousands of additional recruits?
That Russia is still fighting in the city center belies the claim that the entire hamlet is under control. And yes, I use the word “hamlet” because that’s the term used in my home state to describe a place too tiny to be a “village.” It’s a “suburb” (if you can attach the root, “urb”) to the small city of Bakhmut, which is the real prize, the city that had been largely under Donetsk control in 2014, but was lost. That the Russians falsely claim to have Soledar under control probably indicates that they have optimism that it will soon be under control. That they are this excited about such a tiny reversal says how terrible the war is going for them.
