Governor Abbott hand-delivered a letter to Joe Biden when he landed in El Paso on Sunday. In the letter, Abbott included five steps for Biden to take to secure the US-Mexico border. All five of the demands are common sense steps to achieve the goal of drastically slowing the flood of illegal migrants into Texas. Will Biden even bother to look at the list? If Biden’s performance in office during his first two years is any indication, Biden will brush off the five steps, thinking his way is best. To admit that he must change course and implement different strategies...

At the beginning of last week I referenced a Cleveland Clinic study that demonstrated that vaccinated employees of the institution contracted COVID at a substantially higher rate than those who chose not to get vaccinated, and that the relationship gets stronger the more doses of the vaccine the person got. The relationship was striking and worrisome, and even led the researchers–no slouches here, as the Cleveland Clinic rivals the Mayo Clinic as the most prestigious medical institution in the country–to suggest a reconsideration of current vaccine policies. They don’t exactly criticize current policy, but their analysis clearly implied that the...

Roughly one month ago, the White House answered one question we’ve been hammering them about for more than a year. Joe Biden drained nearly 200 million barrels of oil out of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in a failed effort to keep gas prices low ahead of the midterm elections. Was he ever planning on replacing that oil? And how much would it cost if he does?At the time, Biden was saying that he would place the first order for three million barrels of oil for the SPR in February. That doesn’t happen overnight, so they opened up the process to...

Well, now. Isn’t this interesting? As we reported in August, the FBI seized the cellphone of Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Scott Perry, a fierce Trump ally and head of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, the day after the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s personal residence at Mar-a-Lago.My how things change — when you regain the majority in the House of Representatives.Perry told ABC News “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos on Sunday that he might seek to participate on a new House committee to investigate the FBI and other federal agencies, including the same investigators who investigated him. Karma? What...

The opinions expressed by contributors are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of RedState.com.As I’ve said in the past, I’ve never been a fan of the silliness of labeling political opponents. This is not to be confused with humorous “nicknames” — the most clever of which I enjoy, and have coined a few — but rather attempting to paint an adversary into a particular corner defined by you. Third-party “you,” that is.And of course, the most popular label by far among certain factions of the Republican Party is “RINO.”The definition of “RINO” — Republican in Name Only...

Francis shocks Barcelona seminarians with sexual expletivesThe case of the Pope’s speech at the December 10 meeting with the Barcelona seminarians is snowballing. Instead of reading the prepared speech published on the Vatican website, Bergoglio allegedly spoke off the cuff, denying (again) the need for repentance in order to grant absolution. According to testimonies collected by Germinans Germinabit, he also used vulgar expressions. It necessitates urgent clarification from the Vatican Press Office. The first to break the news was the Catalan blog Germinans Germinabit, edited by a Barcelona lawyer, very attentive to the facts of the Church, especially the Catalan one,...
