While most Americans still celebrate Christmas as a cultural holiday, ironically, more and more are doing so in an entirely secular manner. In fact, by all accounts, there has been a shocking rise in the number of people ditching Christianity, people sociologists apparently call "nonverts." The Pew Research Center now estimates that Christians will be a minority in America by 2070 if current trends continue. And that will be the end of America, as it was founded on natural law, biblical values, and the Judeo-Christian work ethic, the very reasons it was the most successful nation in history.Stephen Bullivant, a...

The winter is already brutal on your car because of the conditions, but drivers can make things harder by turning on the vehicle to let it warm up before driving. One thing some do when the temperatures are cold outside is to start the car and let the engine warm up a few seconds before driving. Several auto experts believe this may not be conducive to preserving the engine.

On the surface Holiday Affair (1949) is a standard Christmas-in-the-big-city movie – a less mawkish Miracle on 34th Street with touches of His Girl Friday, Holiday, Bachelor Mother and Remember the Night. Making the picture was anything but regular, from the legal troubles of the leading man to the sexual harassment of his co-star by the famously eccentric and lecherous owner of the studio. Holiday Affair was the second film Robert Mitchum made after he was released from a stint at Wayside, a prison farm in Castaic, California where he was sentenced to forty-three days after being arrested for marijuana...

While all the foundations of the world are shaking, Satan roars like a lion, and there is confusion, violence and uncertainty. Those who trust in the Lord, though, will see God’s salvation with hearts and minds at peace. They can enjoy rest and sweet sleep, unafraid of conditions around them. I give you some glorious promises of God for all who trust in him in these perilous times. • “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; he is a shield to all who trust in him” (2 Samuel 22:31, NKJV). • “Show your...

“‘. . . and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field’” (Matthew 13:44). Every man or woman desires basic joy in his or her life—a desire that all others directly or indirectly serve. We like to eat because tasty food brings joy and usually a feeling of good health to our bodies. We enjoy money because of the prospect of good and necessary things it can buy. Many of us also seek prestige, power, knowledge, and other advantages for the supposed joy they will bring. But all such joys are fleeting...

HILADELPHIA (CBS) -- PJM Interconnection, the electricity grid operator that oversees 13 states - including Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware - is asking residents to conserve electricity as brutally cold temperatures reduced energy output or shut down some power plants. At the same time, there is an increased demand for power on this Christmas holiday weekend.

FOURTH WEEK OF ADVENTLuke 1:67-79 Friends, in today’s Gospel, the Canticle of Zechariah declares how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament’s expectations of salvation.Once we grasp that Jesus was no ordinary teacher and healer but Yahweh moving among his people, we can begin to understand his words and actions more clearly. If we survey the texts of the Old Testament—and the first Christians relentlessly read Jesus in light of these writings—we see that Yahweh was expected to do four great things: he would gather the scattered tribes of Israel; he would cleanse the holy temple in Jerusalem; he would definitively deal...

Besides my goofy rescue greyhound, I’ll be solo this Christmas Eve. All is well. Had some solid family time with my kids last night, and will be with family tomorrow. But, for now, I’m enjoying a salted caramel latte, basking in the glow of the Christmas tree lights and about to plug George Bailey and company into the old Blu-ray player. Anyone else spending this Christmas Eve alone?

I shared this about a Month ago, but decided to share it again on Christmas Eve. This story comes from chapter 22 of my recently published book, "Sleuthing The Scripture," It's an embellished story, so do not take it as inspired by GOD. I wrote this for pure entertainment, and thus it's but a figment of my active imagination mixed with some facts surrounding the times, the places and the characters. I pray it blesses your heart this Christmas Eve.When you think of the first story of Christmas, it’s usually about Mary and Joseph looking down at their new...

An organization of Christian mothers that regularly launches campaigns against questionable content is calling on American Girl to discontinue its distribution of a book that promotes puberty blockers for girls questioning their gender identity. Thirteen years ago, a man was sitting at the Denver airport. Bored, he turned his attention to his favorite website: “I see a lot of people on laptops around using the free wifi,” he wrote on the popular subreddit r/AskReddit. “Just on the off chance, any fellow Redditors here?” What followed was a lively exchange among the platform’s most ardent superusers deciding how best to identify a fellow Reddit obsessive in the “real world.” The phrase they landed on combined several pieces of mid-aughts message board slang and coded inside jokes, yet, crucially, was otherwise meaningless: “The narwhal bacons at...

The War Is Over, and Christmas WonWe Made ItCongratulations! You’ve made it through one of the weirdest years in human history, with manifestations of Godlessness never even conceived of: Men “getting pregnant”, bearded women, Dr. Moreau wannabes injecting humanity with Mystery Juice, popes committing regicide (against Christ the King), robots taking over the workforce. The other day, Joe Biden hosted a drag queen show at the White House which featured pervert performers who are in favor of sexual intercourse with children. And as if not to be outdone, Pope Francis finds himself embroiled in yet another scandal involving his close...

Hebrew-language media reported Thursday that Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu has walked back a recent promise he had made not to alter the Law of Return, as part of a coalition agreement with the ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism and Shas parties. The proposition to change the law has roiled Israeli politicians, including those within Netanyahu’s Likud party. Prominent Netanyahu ally Yuli Edelstein spoke out against any proposed changes, saying that adjusting the law was a slippery slope that could lead to the policy’s demise. On the other hand, former Religious Services Minister Matan Kahana of the National Unity party, who clashed...
