While most Americans still celebrate Christmas as a cultural holiday, ironically, more and more are doing so in an entirely secular manner. In fact, by all accounts, there has been a shocking rise in the number of people ditching Christianity, people sociologists apparently call "nonverts."
The Pew Research Center now estimates that Christians will be a minority in America by 2070 if current trends continue. And that will be the end of America, as it was founded on natural law, biblical values, and the Judeo-Christian work ethic, the very reasons it was the most successful nation in history.
Stephen Bullivant, a practicing Catholic who teaches at St. Mary's University in London and the University of Notre Dame in Sydney, recently spoke to Grid News as to why Americans are leaving Christianity in droves. (Bullivant's new book, Nonverts: The Making of Ex-Christian America, was released in the U.S. on December 1.) He said that a kind of "cultural whiplash" — from religion to secularism — has taken place in the United States much faster than it has in other parts of the world.
Bullivant noted that this will be difficult to reverse, as the largest demographic of nonverts are younger adults, who are overwhelmingly likely to raise their children as "nones" — people from nonreligious families. Only a tiny percentage of nonverts ever return to religion, nor do a significant percentage of "nones" embrace religion at any point in their lives.
By 2021, 42 percent of young adults (compared with 29 percent of all adults) weren't religiously affiliated, a figure that has increased dramatically just since the early 2000s. This is sad. And problematic.

This matches the experience of myself and so many others I know. Younger adults do not believe in the Bible, even if they say they are Christians. They don’t go to services.
It has brought home the point that Jesus said His kingdom was not of this world. I think a lot of Christians forgot that lesson or never learned it.
All we can do is focus on living right and on missions outside of this country, I’m afraid. Maybe it’s time to start looking at moving to other nations where Christianity is welcomed by the population.
The USA has slowly been becoming a secular nation for many decades.
Like the Visegrad Group...
Of course the country could split, leaving at least one entity that would carry on Christian traditions, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards.
Doesn’t help when you have a Commie for a Pope.
Wrath of God is upon us,,,,,,,Famine may be next.
“... for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first...”
Whether national disaster is brought by God’s wrath or by man thinking he/she is God, the consequences will be the same.
Our societal conditions are completely unprecedented in all of history. We are the fattest, most passively entertained and comfortable people to ever exist...our poorest are the most likely to be obese. Don’t expect strong faith and morals to come from a society like ours, you will be disappointed.
Freegards
The local radio stations only play “secular” Christmas songs anymore, you very seldom hear any of the traditional hymns. I gave up listening to the “happy holidays” crap years ago. I’m sick of hearing the 2000+ variants of Jingle Bells and Frosty the Snowman.
I think we’ve already passed over secular into satanic territory.
Boy, that’s a money quote right there. It’s why the constitution delegate elections to the state without any consideration for what to do in the case of fraud or cheating. The founders could not concieve of Americans abusing the sacred task of voting.
GOSH! Ya think?!?
I believe the formal turning point was when the Supreme Court forbade prayers in public schools. The country, at the time of its birth, was predominantly Protestant, and the public institutions reflected a pan-Protestant outlook. Even as late as the New Deal FDR told a Catholic official in his administration that this was a Protestant country and that Catholics and Jews were here by the sufferance of the Protestant majority. In the mid 20th Century, the increasing influence of Catholics and Jews turned America from being a Protestant nation to a Judeo-Christian nation. However, the secularist outlook was becoming increasingly prevalent. The Supreme Court preventing even nonsectarian prayer in public schools was the formal end of this country’s Biblical heritage.
We lost this nation when the Ten Commandments were removed from the town square. We have no guideposts.
The USA has been a secular nation for a long time.
I have always had problems understanding this, just based on my own experience. It is natural for me to believe. It is vital for me to practice my faith. Sunday mornings in church refresh me, and sometimes what goes on there is the only thing that makes any sense all week. I have had doubts and challenges, but have never even been close to giving it up. Thanks be to God.
Not very secular
The marxist religion took over - diversity
