Hundreds of people took to the streets in Ireland today to protest against the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Over 20 local protests took place around the country on Saturday, with over 500 people joining the protest in Cork city. Protesters in Cork gathered on Grand Parade this afternoon before marching to the GPO where they staged a brief sit-down protest and then continued to City Hall. The aim of the demonstrations was to send a message to the Government about soaring costs facing the population especially gas and electricity prices, the housing crisis, and rising food prices. They chanted: “Freeze prices,...

It’s entirely possible that the Republicans will not win the House. If they do, it will be by a razor thin margin under circumstances that should have produced a blowout. The main reason for this second in a row reversal of all historic electoral precedent is plain to anyone who wants to look and be honest: Florida has an electoral law that most closely recreates the US election DAY mechanics of all time prior to 2020: No mass mailing of unrequested absentee ballots to all registered voters - only those registered voters requesting an absent ballot no later than 10...

Going with the NBC forecast of a Republican 10-seat majority in the House, when the new Congress is seated on January 3, 2023, the cold hard facts on the ground will include the following: 1. The new Congress will be gridlocked. Neither the Ds nor the Rs will be able to enact legislation, the Ds because they lack a majority in the House, and the Rs because they lack the supermajority required to override a presidential veto. 2. Although the Democrats cannot enact any legislation without Republican support, their most important engine of law creation, the administrative agencies, can continue...

Lindsey Graham inflames and incentivizes the Democrat base by proposing a national law restricting abortion. Rick Scott proposes a “sunset” for all domestic spending programs - a plan that would even include Social Security, allowing Dems to once again campaign on Social Security. Mitch McConnell steers money from candidates who are fighting Democrats to candidates , like Murkowski, who are fighting Republicans. If I were a cynic, I’d say the GOP leaders were throwing this election. Did they have some big nets placed in Vegas against their own party - or what? Not since Sonny Liston went down to Cassius...

Once again — A popular, attractive, honest, and competent Republican candidate had his race taken from him after several days of delayed vote counting. This time it was Adam Laxalt in Nevada. Laxalt led the polls and had a good election day turnout. On Thursday Adam Laxalt told Tucker Carlson his opponent did not have a valid path to victory. Laxalt was ahead in the race until Saturday afternoon when Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto took the lead.

It’s not the Great White Way. A white sign-language interpreter says he was booted from “The Lion King” on Broadway because of his skin color. Keith Wann, 53, was one of at least two people forced off the production by the non-profit Theatre Development Fund – which staffs Broadway shows with American Sign Language interpreters – after the group decided it was “no longer appropriate to have white interpreters represent black characters for ASL Broadway shows.” Wann filed a federal discrimination lawsuit on Tuesday against the organization and the director of its accessibility programs, Lisa Carling. ... Carling’s decision came...

Now they're finding all sorts of Ballots in Clark County, Nevada. They are pulling out all stops to steal the Election from Adam Laxalt. Mitch McConnell, the Republicans Broken Down Senate Leader, does nothing about this. He's too busy spending vast amounts of money on bas Senator Lisa M of Alaska, when Kelly S is FAR better. Should have fought and stopped the steal in 2020. Gave Dems 4 Trillion Dollars, never used Debt Ceiling. He is the WORST!

This week, we saw another incident of protesters shutting down an event to prevent others from hearing opposing views. At an event with commentator and author Ann Coulter, one protester yelled “Your words are violence.” It is the latest example of how some on the left are treating free speech as harm on college campuses. Unlike many other incidents, however, Cornell has stood by the right of the student group, Network of Enlightened Women, to hold the event and pledged to hold students accountable for the cancellation of the speech.Students and faculty previously pressured Cornell to cancel Coulter as someone...

This is the point in the story when we should probably summon Dr. McCoy to say, ‘he’s dead, Jim.’ The “he” in question would be the Iran nuclear deal, known around the White House as the JCPOA. The secretive, four-party talks that have been going on for well over a year never really came close to producing a functional deal, though most of us never heard any of the details. But now, at least according to one Trump administration official who was privy to the process, the entire thing is shut down with “no path forward.” The culprit is supposedly...

It suffices to say that Election Day didn't go as planned for some polling places that experienced and are still experiencing ballot-counting issues. Despite the varying election-related difficulties, multiple jurisdictions share one foreseen commonality. There's a common thread connecting five counties spread across several states that were in disarray on Election Day: federal "monitors." On the eve of the elections, the Biden administration's Department of Justice announced Monday it would be dispatching such monitors to as many as 64 jurisdictions in almost half of U.S. states on Election Day to oversee federal election law "compliance According to the DOJ's watch...

Joe Biden has been overseas at the COP 27 Summit in Egypt on Friday and then the ASEAN Summit in Cambodia on Saturday. With Biden being Biden, you knew that it was going to be embarrassing for our country and you’d be right on target. In the grand tradition of Barack Obama, Biden apologized for our pulling out of the Paris Agreement and claimed transitioning away from fossil fuels can help the world avoid “climate hell.”‘The climate crisis is about human security, economic security, environmental security, national security, and the very life of the planet,’ Biden said at the COP 27 meeting...

Did Pope Francis Protect His Graft-Ridden Cardinals?Yes, suggests a lawsuit from a fired Vatican auditor.A fired Vatican auditor and his deputy are suing the Holy See for $9.25 million, “alleging they were sacked after discovering financial irregularities,” according to an account by Reuters this week. The auditor, Libero Milone, says that Pope Francis signed off on his firing in 2017 after he exposed graft-ridden Vatican officials.Pope Francis appointed Milone to his position in 2015, ostensibly for the purpose of purifying the Vatican’s notoriously crooked finances and improving its financial practices. But, as usual, Pope Francis was more interested in talking...

Election judge Michele Swinick has come forward to report what she experienced in Maricopa County on Election Day. She worked Election Day as a judge at the Islamic Voting Center in Scottsdale, AZ. She reports that the center is heavily Republican, with “no party” designated voters as the second most populous demographic, followed by very few democrat voters, evidenced by the fact that she checked in very few of them on Election Day. She reports she spent the entire day checking in voters. Swinick says that the tabulators all worked “perfectly” during the test the night before the election. The...

(RNS) — Phoenix pastor Caleb Campbell has a theory about the growing number of Americans who are labeled as Christian nationalists. Most would rather go to Cracker Barrel than storm the Capitol. Many see themselves as good Christians who love their country. But somewhere along the way, they began to think being a good American and being a Christian were one and the same. “Their whole life has been the intermingling of their American civil religion and their Christian religion,” said Campbell, pastor of Desert Springs Bible Church and a self-described missionary to Christian nationalists. To help his fellow Christians...

Thursday was another day of workers striking in Paris led by workers in the subway system.
