BREAKING: Democrats Will Retain Control of the Senate: A Herschel Walker Victory In Georgia Does not Change Things
Red State ^ | 11/12/2022 | Joe Cunningham

The Democratic Party will keep control of the Senate, Decision Desk HQ projects, after a batch of votes coming in from Clark County, Nevada, gave Catherine Cortez Masto the lead she needed to win re-election.

That puts the Senate at 50-49 in the Democrats’ favor. The final seat will go to the winner of the run-off between incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker in Georgia.

Decision Desk HQ projects Democrats retain their majority in the U.S. Senate with at least 50 seats, plus Vice President Kamala Harris’ tiebreaking vote.

Republicans were poised to win up to 53 seats, according to some of the polling leading up to the midterms, but a collapse of the predicted “Red Wave” in several states thwarted those predictions.

The Democrats were able to flip one Senate seat in Pennsylvania as celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz lost against the state’s Lt. Governor, John Fetterman. Democrats were also able to hold all of their swing state Senate seats, including Arizona and Nevada.

The GOP can keep the Senate split, with Vice President Kamala Harris being the tie-breaking vote, should they flip the Georgia seat.

It could mean the difference of them ending the filibuster to pass court stacking, etc. Blocking that has been on the edge of a knife.

Despite all the hand wringing going on, the senate was a really tough landscape for Republicans this year. They will be lucky to maintain the status quo.

The house is another matter, Republicans desperately need control.

Dems didn’t come this far only to lose in the midterms. Really disappointed and angry. Doubt if I will see another Republican president in my lifetime. Stuff has to change but how? I’m not optimistic.

I’m an old man.
I won’t live too much longer.
But I’m well enough off not to suffer too much in the coming years.
At this point I really don’t GAS shit about how Democrats suffer the next few years. They earned it.
High prices shortages, soon they be selling their kids for food and I will laugh at their foolishness.
Defund it all. Kill all the industry. Kill the energy.
I don’t care about you, FU!.
God will sort you out.
Democrats.

Secession is the only answer to a modern day tyrannical government.

No, they would need 52 for that.

it sure as hell will change things for me as a Georgian. It has been disgusting having Warnock as a Senator - an insult and a testament to the horrible job Raffensperger did/does.

Looks like cocaine Mitch succeeded in sabotaging the MAGA movement wrt the Senate. Pulling funding from MAGA candidates and heavily funding RINO’s in opposition.
He doesn’t give a damn if he’s the Minority “leader” as long as retains his “leader” position in the Republican Senate. He gets to keep his part of the DC Swamp pie. Along with Murkowski, Graham, Romney, etc...they are all perfectly happy with this outcome.
And, they could not possibly care less about the country or you and me. They have their positions, and their perks benefitting them and their families, friends, and financial benefactors.

Projected wins don’t mean anything. Wait until the last ballot is counted.

If we win GA, it puts huge pressure on Manchin. He is going to get torchef in 24, unless he switches.

That last seat makes a huge difference. Manchin and/or Sinema can hijack Biden’s agenda.

They’re afraid of the public reaction so onward they go. Deliberate couched in fear of how the public might react.

I hold McConnell responsible for this loss. He refused to give Masters, or any MAGA candidate, money for campaigning. McDaniel is also to blame for keeping the purse strings closed. Every day for 6 months I was subjected to painfully mendacious commercials from Kelly with hardly any pushback from the myriad Republican PACs. WTF?

Masters had a pretty good shot at winning and possibly accomplishing good things for AZ, but TPTB decided the safety and well-being of Arizonans wasn’t worth the effort!

I will never forget the cavalier way we were disregarded by the politicians deciding our futures. They can GFTS because the party is dead to me!
