I apologize for the Vanity upfront. That said, can we come up with a list of movies that don't lecture about climate, race, abortion 'rights', sexuality, intolerance, 'migrants' etc.? I fully realize there are lots of crucial issues facing all of us and that this is not that important, but when occasionally looking for at least an hour or two of escape it would be nice to not have to be assaulted by the left's agenda.

As the present draft brings more and more young men into the Russian Armed Forces, questions often arise regarding the religious life of the conscripts. With this regard, a member of the State Legislative Assembly from the United Russia party Mr. Sergei Kolunov has offered clarifications: “Many of the volunteers and conscripts going belong to various religious confessions. They must certainly have an opportunity to pray and read holy books. Christians take, for example, a cross with an icon, a prayer book, and a Bible with them . . . and this is the right thing to do”.He also noted...

Some Chinese nationals still in Ukraine have signed up for evacuation from the country, with most registering for organized evacuations, while others are preparing to leave Ukraine on their own, the Global Times learned on Sunday, after the Chinese Foreign Ministry urged Chinese citizens to leave Ukraine, citing the grave security situation. The move, following the large-scale evacuation in March that safely returned some 6,000 Chinese nationals in Ukraine back to their motherland, represents the Chinese government's greatest efforts to protect its citizens, as the Russia-Ukraine conflict further escalated, experts noted. As of press time on Sunday, 161 people had...

For years, cardiologists have zeroed in on a hormone called BNP as a gold standard to determine if patients with heart failure are at risk of severe illness or death. It's released by the heart in response to when the cardiac tissue stretches due to pressure. While the B-type natriuretic peptide, or BNP, is a "downstream" indicator of heart failure, researchers have been looking for biomarkers focused on what leads to heart failure. A new study finds that levels of soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor, or suPAR, an immune protein known to play a role in kidney disease, are high...

So, why does Elon Musk want Twitter so badly? Is it because he is such a big free speech advocate, that he wants to “save the world, ” save us all from BIG TECH? Breast cancers that emerge within five years of giving birth are more likely to spread and become deadly. Additionally, a new study shows that recent childbirth alone is an independent risk factor for breast cancer progression. The findings suggest that current clinical guidelines, which don't factor in postpartum status, are less able to accurately predict the risk of cancer recurrence and guide optimal treatment strategies in young patients. "This has profound implications for prognosis," said Pepper Schedin, Ph.D. "A postpartum diagnosis can move women who appear to have good prognosis into a high-risk category." The risk of metastasis was 50%...

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is the kind of military alliance the Founding Fathers warned about. Its entangling nature puts America at risk of entering potentially dangerous conflicts where no pressing national interest is at stake. Just look at the present Russo-Ukrainian conflict. Many policymakers in Washington believe that a Slav-on-Slav conflict thousands of miles away somehow involves a critical national interest. In reality, what guides the DC Swamp’s interest in this conflict is the desire to debilitate Russia and make it submit to the liberal hegemonic order. DC is committed to this goal irrespective of the massive risks its entails....

The Federal Reserve’s fight to squash inflation will cause the US economy to start losing tens of thousands of jobs a month beginning early next year, Bank of America warns. Although the jobs market remained surprisingly strong in September, the Fed is working hard to change that by aggressively raising interest rates to ease demand for everything from cars and homes to appliances. The pace of job growth is expected to be roughly cut in half during the fourth quarter of this year, Bank of America told clients in a report Friday.

Why are cancers of the adrenal glands more common among women? Why are prognoses worse for them? A team of scientists led by a researcher answers these questions. They demonstrate that, in male mice, there is greater recruitment of immune cells known as macrophages, which can eliminate tumor cells. Hence, aggressive tumor progression is scarcely seen in male mice; while in female mice, macrophages do not slow the growth of tumors, which eventually metastasize. Through molecular analyses, the team determined that recruitment of tumor-fighting macrophages depends on testosterone. After simple administration of the hormone to females, macrophages able to eradicate...

Saudi Arabia's defense minister said Sunday that he and other top officials are "astonished" by accusations that Saudi Arabia has aligned itself with Russia due to OPEC's decision to cut oil production by two million barrels a day.
