Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) on Thursday said it was a “terrible idea” for fellow GOP governors Ron DeSantis (Fla.) and Greg Abbott (Texas) to bus and fly migrants to progressive cities in a move to pressure President Biden to address a surge of migrants at the border. “I thought it was a mistake to basically do publicity stunts of busing people from the border into other states,” Hogan said during an appearance Thursday in New Hampshire. “Gov. DeSantis, who had nothing to do with the issue … grabbed fifty people and sent them to Martha’s Vineyard as a publicity...

Since Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a national mobilization last month, more than 355,000 people have left the country, according to Russian independent media. Roughly 200,000 people escaped to Kazakhstan, 80,000 left for Georgia and 65,000 departed for Finland. Some 6,000 people also fled to Mongolia and there are reports of people fleeing to Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tadjikistan. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday that more than 200,000 people have been mobilized since Sept. 21.

In 2020, Democrats blocked Trump's proposal to buy American oil at $24 a barrel. Yesterday, a Biden official disclosed a secret offer to buy OPEC+ oil at $80 a barrel. In early September, United States Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, told Reuters that President Joe Biden was considering extending the release of oil from America’s emergency stockpiles, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), through October, and thus beyond the date when the program had been set to end. But then, a few hours later, an official with the Department of Energy called Reuters and contradicted Granholm, saying that the White House...

When millions of office employees started working from home in 2020, the plan for most was eventually to return to work, not stay remote forever. But two and a half years later, many workers really don’t want to go back to the office, and companies are struggling to figure out how to convince them to return, offering enticements like free food, prizes, and even alcoholic beverages to draw workers back. Some companies are getting more creative than that, as this person who wrote to me recounts: "I have seen a lot of lures, and none of them are working. Free...

A Rubicon has been crossed in Australia. For the first time, someone has lost their job not because of something they said or did, but because of the church they belong to. Essendon AFL is an Australian rules football team. Based in Melbourne, it has a membership of over 80,000 and is a major player in what is a large and lucrative sport in Australia. This week it appointed a local businessman, Andrew Thorburn, as its chief executive. He lasted one day in the job and the story is best summed up by the Herald Sun headline, "Essendon's chief executive...

VIDEOOn Morning Joe they were talking about OPEC drastically cutting oil production. However, what was obviously on their minds was the same thing that HAUNTS the dreams of all liberals and TERRIFIES them constantly during almost all their waking moments. It is the ONE who is their personal Randall Flagg. And as things get worse and worse for the Democrats such as rising inflation and gas prices they keep inevitably slipping and slipping towards their NIGHTMARE future.

Russian conscripts are in revolt after being treated like 'cattle' and given 'no training' as they head to the war in Ukraine. A video shows the men publicly complaining about their treatment in 'brutal, absolutely appalling conditions' after they were mobilised by Vladimir Putin. The shocking footage is just the latest evidence of the total chaos over the Russian call-up of reservists that has left even Kremlin cheerleaders in despair. The desperate recruits risk punishment by venting their fury over their plight after arriving by train in Belgorod region which borders Ukraine. One of the soldiers, acting as a spokesman...

State Attorney General Sandra Luz Valdovinos told Milenio television late Wednesday that 18 people were killed and two were wounded in the town of San Miguel Totolapan. Among the dead were Mayor Conrado Mendoza and his father, a former mayor of the town, she said. Two additional people were wounded. Images from the scene showed a bullet-riddled city hall. Google wants users to know how much it supports Warner Bros. taking the classic Scooby-Doo TV series and turning one of its core characters into a rainbow mafia symbol of the woke left. The New York Times slobbered in an Oct. 5 story that the script of a new Scooby Doo flick confirms “that Velma Dinkley, the cerebral mystery solver with the ever-present orange turtleneck, is canonically a lesbian.” Velma’s appearance in “Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo,” according to The Times drivel, “was the first time the long-running franchise openly acknowledged her sexuality, thrilling some fans who were disappointed that it...

Ear Hearing Concept In future studies, the proteins discovered in this work could be used as drug targets to prevent aminoglycoside-induced hearing loss. ======================================================================= Researchers identify possible treatment targets to prevent antibiotic-induced hearing loss. Researchers at Indiana University School of Medicine are exploring new methods to investigate why an antibiotic causes hair cell death and permanent hearing loss in humans. In a study that was published in the journal Developmental Cell, the researchers described how they identified the autophagy pathway in hair cells that is connected to the permanent hearing loss caused by the antibiotic class aminoglycosides. The researchers also...

The full picture of Facebook-turned-Meta's rumored layoffs is coming further into focus — and, well, things aren't looking too good for the metamates. Insider reports that the company is planning a mass round of "quiet layoffs," which could impact up to 15 percent of the entire company. For the folks at home, that number would equal roughly 12,000 employees. And the reason why they're being called — whisper voice — quiet layoffs? According to Insider's sources, Facebook has already started the process, which it plans to execute via shifting performance expectations rather than outright firing hordes of staffers all at...

I had some standard blood tests done a week or so ago, annual physical type tests for a 67 year old man. I got the results sent to me by the commercial Lab via email in a couple of days, so I knew what the results were, nothing special. Then, three days ago, I get a message on my home phone answering machine from my doctor's office, a nurse or PA was READING THE RESULTS ALOUD onto the answering machine, and making commentary at the same time, like "That's a little high." or "This one is troubling." etc. My question...
  • How Much Will Gas Prices Go Up as OPEC Slashes Oil Production?

Gas prices that are already ticking back up again might increase another 10% or more following a move by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies to cut oil production by 2 million barrels a day. The Biden administration — which has put a high priority on bringing gas prices down ahead of the 2022 midterm elections — was quick to lash out at OPEC’s decision. As the WaPo reported, administration officials have pressured OPEC leader Saudi Arabia to produce more oil to compensate for the global shortage caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. President Biden himself...

The U.S. Supreme Court has shot down a Massachusetts gun control law, overturning a lower court's approval and returning it to the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for a determination that aligns with the high court's recent precedents. Fox explained that ruling was thought to be a "landmark" in 2nd Amendment jurisprudence, opening the door for a multitude of challenges to state limits. "The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense is not 'a second-class right, subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees,'" Justice Clarence Thomas wrote for the...

FBI figures show there were 2,470,462 National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) checks performed in the month of September. Mark Olivia, the NSSF’s managing director of public affairs, indicates that 1.2 million of the NICS checks were specifically for gun sales.

Suppose you put 45 gallons of no ethanol unleaded in a barrell with the appropriate amount of stabalizer…… and a year and a half later you use 20 gallons of it. If you fill it back up with fresh gas does this “renew” what was in the barrell? Can you use out of it some and refill it indefinitely? Is there a point where the barrell should be completely emptied and refilled totally? I know some people here will know this answer. Thanks!
