Scott Frost’s time at Nebraska has come to an end. Nebraska athletic director Trev Alberts announced Sunday that the school has fired Frost as head coach just three games into his fifth season on the job. The move comes on the heels of a 45-42 home loss to Georgia Southern that dropped the Huskers to 1-2 on the season and 16-31 overall with Frost as head coach. On top of that, the loss put the Huskers at an unfathomable 5-22 in one-possession games under Frost.

The September 11, 2001 jihad terror attacks were twenty-one years ago, and Americans have moved on. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) was widely ridiculed and even reviled a few years ago for breezily characterizing 9/11 as the day when “some people did something,” but she has had the last laugh: the coverage of the attacks every year is a study in avoidance, with the establishment media focusing on anything and everything besides the motivating ideology and goals of the attackers. As always, the media’s favorite preoccupation is the persistence of Muslim victimhood: every 9/11 anniversary, we’re inundated with stories about how...

PHILADELPHIA, Thursday, Sept. 11. The Bulletin's Harrisburgh dispatch says that Hagerstown is occupied by only 250 rebel cavalry. The main rebel army is at Funktown, 2 1/2 miles off. A small party had appeared a short distance from the State line. Pennsylvania is not yet invaded. JACKSON is reported to be at Middletown, with 12,000 men, mostly cavalry. PHILADELPHIA, Thursday, Sept. 11, A special dispatch to the Inquirer, of this city, says: "Information has just been received from a highly reliable source, that the rebels, 20,000 strong, with 48 pieces of artillery, took possession of Hagerstown at 9:20 o'clock this...

Saturday, I posted on the new Ukrainian offensive in Kharkiv Oblast that has liberated several hundred square miles of territory and threatens to unravel the entire Russian invasion;(snip) The main effort in yesterday’s report was Kupiansk, a critical rail and highway node on the Oskil river. That city is firmly in Ukrainian hands. As I noted yesterday, this places the main railroad line from Russian forces in Ukraine to Russia within range of Ukrainian tube artillery. The Ukrainian offensive in Kharkiv Oblast shows some signs of slowing down, unlike the Russian withdrawal. But progress continues. I’d thought the Oskil River/reservoir...

We went mad because we easily could. And we could, not because we were poor and oppressed, but because we were rich and bored. Travel abroad and or talk to pro-American foreigners here, and you will be surprised at what they say. It is not boilerplate anti-Americanism of the usual cheap Euro style. And their keen criticism is not just that we are $30 trillion in debt, dependent on China, with a corrupt elite, or have gone insane inventing the most lurid crimes to put away the supposedly predetermined guilty Donald Trump. Instead, they express disbelief, worry, lamentation even, that...

Russia Is Running Out of Missiles. That’s Bad News for Ukraine Although the depletion of top-of-the-line Russian missiles could give Ukraine the upper hand strategically, it could spell disaster for Ukrainian civilians. Ukrainian intelligence claimed on August 27 that Russia has used approximately 55 percent of its missile stockpile since its February 24 invasion of the country. If accurate, this could signal that sanctions are biting. However, it may not all be good news. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia has made several attempts to produce tactical and strategic missiles to fight conventional wars. These missiles, like the...

An attorney for former President Donald Trump scolded the Justice Department for fighting the appointment of a special master to review documents seized from Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. James Trusty, a former federal prosecutor, told Fox News host Mark Levin it is a "fair question" to ask whether the Justice Department is attempting a cover-up as it conducts a criminal investigation into Trump's handling of records after leaving office. "What we have in this situation is a historical first. And I mean that in a very negative way, to have this search warrant based on failed [National Archives] negotiations, I suppose,...

If you like free speech, don’t go to Columbia. A leading free speech organization ranked the best and worst college campuses for freedom of speech and New York’s top school, Columbia University, came in dead last. On Wednesday, The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) released its third annual College Free Speech Rankings for the 2022-2023 school year. In partnership with College Pulse, they surveyed nearly 45,000 students from more than 200 colleges — making it the largest ever survey about campus expression. The University of Chicago came first for campus free speech, scoring 77.92 points out of 100....

Thinking about all of the things that have happened since Trump ran for President and won, secured positive results and then we went through this ferocious backlash from leftists liberals with violence, property destruction, looting and killing and then extreme promotion of sexual perversion of all kinds, it is becoming obvious that the "...finger of God...." is involved in all of this and the nation is on the edge of collapse. It makes absolutely no sense that Biden and Harris "won" the Presidential election. Statistically, it is impossible and no rehash of the evidence is going to be presented here....

An armed robbery crew that has struck repeatedly in Wicker Park and Avondale returned to the area to commit two more daylight robberies on Friday morning. Chicago police spotted the offenders as they fled from the second robbery scene, but a CPD supervisor ordered units not to follow the car onto the expressway. So, the armed men, wanted for more than a dozen armed and sometimes violent robberies, remain at large to commit more crimes. Chicago police say both robberies happened around 11 a.m. on Friday, about 10 minutes apart. First, two men got out of a dark sedan and...

Explosions shake the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson throughout the day. Internet, electricity and water are sporadic. Prices for basic goods, such as food and soap, are skyrocketing. Hundreds of cars are lined up trying to leave the city. By 4 p.m., the streets are empty. Ukraine has launched a military offensive aimed at retaking Kherson and upending a key goal of Vladimir Putin’s war: eliminating independent Ukrainian identity. How that liberation effort plays out is a test case for Russia’s efforts to mold the territory and its people in its own image. As Ukraine recaptures territory this weekend in...

Ukrainian armed forces said on Monday they had recaptured more than 20 settlements in the past 24 hours amid a large counter-offensive. “In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed forces drove the enemy away from more than 20 settlements” and are regaining “full control over them,” the Ukrainian army said in its daily briefing. “In their retreat, Russian troops are hastily abandoning their positions and fleeing,” the army statement added. Throughout the weekend, Ukraine claimed sweeping successes against Russia in the south and the east, including the cities of Izyum, Kupiansk, and Balakliya. On Sunday night, regions in eastern Ukraine...

In comparison to Joe Biden, Barack Obama appears to be a picture of probity, wisdom, and dignity. But in reality, he's just a more unflappable liar, and now that Democrats are on the rocks in the polls, he's cribbed a page from Ronald Reagan, a man he's always had a curious fascination for, claiming that: “The country is better off than when you took office. We should all be deeply grateful for that.” If Obama were ask that as a question, the way Reagan once did, the open-ended answer would not have been to his liking, so Obama supplied the...

The Russian army is losing at least a battalion’s worth of vehicles and men daily as twin Ukrainian counteroffensives roll back Russian territorial gains in eastern and southern Ukraine. That’s hundreds of casualties and scores of vehicle write-offs every day. These losses catastrophic for Russia. Russian army barely was sustaining a little over 100 under-strength battalions in Ukraine before Kyiv’s forces counterattacked in south on Aug. 30 and in the east eight days later. In under two weeks of brutal fighting, the Ukrainians have destroyed, badly damaged or captured 1,200 Russian tanks, fighting vehicles, trucks, helicopters, warplanes and drones, according...

In the Republican race for Congress in New Hampshire's 1st District, loyalty to former President Donald Trump is becoming a major point of contention. In his recent visit to the Granite State, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said he hasn't made up his mind about a run for president in 2024, but he's already playing in New Hampshire's closely watched 1st Congressional District Republican primary. The 2020 Republican nominee, Matt Mowers, got his start as an aide to Christie, who went out of his way to praise Mowers during his visit to New Hampshire on Monday. "And I'm certain...

Poland must remain Christian or it will not exist at all, says the country’s education minister, Przemysław Czarnek. His remarks follow recent comments in which Czarnek called for Poland to lead a “counter-revolution” against the “putrid, anti-religious activities” of the West. The minister, known as an ultraconservative figure in Poland’s right-wing government, attended the 10th “Pilgrimage of Men” on Saturday. He told participants that it is “up to us whether we will transfer our Christian heritage to future generations”, reports the Polish Press Agency (PAP). “This is our responsibility, our duty,” he declared. “We are the sum of our whole...
