Even those who won Vermont’s Republican primary elections on Tuesday say they’re baffled by the results. In the race for U.S. Senate, GOP voters rejected former U.S. Attorney Christina Nolan, a moderate and institutional favorite, for Gerald Malloy, a Trump-aligned conservative. They nominated Sen. Joe Benning, an anti-Trump centrist, for lieutenant governor, intead of Gregory Thayer, who took part in the protests before the January 6 riots in Washington, D.C. And they turned down two conservative activists, Ericka Redic and Anya Tynio, in favor of a left-leaning independent, Liam Madden. “It's a head-scratcher to me,” Madden said of finding himself...

BABYLON BEE HEADQUARTERS — We here at the Babylon Bee have been deeply saddened over the past days to see such mean-spirited criticism of our favorite institution of American government, the dearly beloved Federal Bureau of Investigation. While seeing agents storm the home of President Trump may give some cause for concern, we feel that the FBI has earned our trust. When they gave up figuring out a motive for the Vegas shooter, the FBI was honest about it. When they were too busy to help gymnasts being sexually assaulted, they were honest about it and hung up the phone....

The world is on fire and our globalists overlords like it that way…they created it. Ukraine is burning, Taiwan is on the block, and the Middle East is about to blow. Ukrainians are dying by the truckload, daily. President Zelenskiy of Ukraine is not working for the Ukrainian people…no…he is working for the same people Obama and Biden are working for — the Fourth Reich. Zelenskiy pushed for, and enabled the war. He could have prevented it, but he didn’t. OBiden could have prevented it, but he didn’t. Putin was only too happy to oblige when OBiden opened the door,...

I saw 2000 Mules and was very impressed by it. So I had really big expectations for this event today considering how much they hyped it. Since I can't find anything on it, I assume it wasn't anything ground shattering revealed today. What did they say?

Why has the Abe murder vanished from the news? One of the most important stories certainly of the year if not the decade it is treated like a low level crime story. Abe was truly the best and most powerful friend the US had in Japan and the westpac region. His murder is virtually on a JFK level of importance. However, the media have it seems been given the word to send the event and its possible Chinese connection down the memory hole just like the destruction of Notre Dame de Paris.

OK, its been a little over 21 months. On 2020 election day we got home after voting. In an hour or two I had a premonition that Trump was not going to be allowed to win. I told the family that I am going to disconnect myself from all news on TV, radio, internet and anything else including FR of which I've been a member forever. Given the results I'm sure FR went beserk that day. My first 2 years in the Air Force I did statistics. Some years ago I thought....... if a program had all the election data...

The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Elections Commission against the City Clerk of Racine for its use of mobile sites in the latest primary. This is the same primary that Robin Voss squeaked out a win by only 260 votes. We reported that last week Wisconsin’s corrupted Speaker Robin Vos won the primary in his district by only 260 votes. Email Racine, Wisconsin Used Illegal Mobile Voting Sites in Recent Primary – Same District Where Corrupt GOP Speaker Robin Vos Pulled a 260 Vote Win By Joe Hoft Published August 13, 2022 at...

Sorry for the vanity here, and I know this is a minor issue that can be dealt with, but I'm curious if other FReepers are encountering the same issue. Following the raid on Trump's personal home I sent him, and a number of other Trump candidates, a political contribution. And yes, I also contributed to FR, as I do every quarter. But holy cow. Since making those contributions I am now getting an email from Trump, or someone associated with his campaign, about every twenty or thirty minutes. I am not exaggerating. About three to four emails every single waking...

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey announced this week that officers in county schools will carry long guns and will be prepared to “meet violence with violence” and win the day. Florida Today quoted Ivey saying, “You are not coming into my schools and killing our children.” He noted, “I firmly believe that if you do not meet violence with violence, you will be violently killed.” Ivey posted a video to Facebook in which he announced that officers will have long guns on their persons, in order to save time that would have been wasted running to a squad car to...

Researchers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's (LLNL's) National Ignition Facility (NIF) recorded the first case of ignition on August 8, 2021, the results of which have now been published in three peer-reviewed papers. Nuclear fusion is the process that powers the Sun and other stars: heavy hydrogen atoms collide with enough force that they fuse together to form a helium atom, releasing large amounts of energy as a by-product. Once the hydrogen plasma "ignites", the fusion reaction becomes self-sustaining, with the fusions themselves producing enough power to maintain the temperature without external heating. Ignition during a fusion reaction essentially means...

“The gun used in the fatal shooting on the Rust movie set could not have been fired without pulling the trigger, ” far-left ABC News reported, summarizing an FBI forensic report. This is in direct conflict with actor Alec Baldwin’s claim he did not pull the trigger on the gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last year during a camera rehearsal. “No, no, no, no, I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never,” Baldwin told George Stephanopolous in December. “The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” he added. The FBI says...

The straight skinny on the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act (FOPA) the law that saved gun rights Nearly a quarter century ago, the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act was signed into law.Looking back, it seems like an impossible victory.by Dave HardyWhen the struggle started in 1979, Jimmy Carter was in the White House. Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts and Rep. Peter Rodino of New Jersey controlled the two judiciary committees that would have to approve the bill. And when the long haul was ending some seven years later, the measure had passed through the Senate, but Rodino still chaired the House Judiciary...

By her own telling, Mississippi authorities provided Carolyn Bryant Donham with preferential treatment rather than prosecution after her encounter with Emmett Till led to the lynching of the Black teenager in the summer of 1955. Instead of arresting Donham on a warrant that accused her of kidnapping days after Till’s abduction, an officer passed along word that relatives would take her and her two young sons away from home amid a rising furor over the case, Donham said in a 2008 memoir made public last month. The sheriff would later claim Donham, 21 at the time, could not be located...

When it finally dawned on Donald Trump in the twilight of his presidency that he wouldn’t be living in the White House for another four years, he had a problem: he had barely packed and had to move out quickly. West Wing aides and government movers frantically tossed documents and other items into banker boxes that were shipped to a storage room at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida along with other, previously packed records set aside by Trump, sometimes erratically so, according to two sources with knowledge of Trump’s move and records issues.

Tucked into the tax and spending bill that passed the Senate this weekend was a $15 million provision to study allowing the IRS to prepare taxes. The provision comes after Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and other Democrats have pushed legislation for adding tax filing to the agency's purview. The Inflation Reduction Act, which passed the House Friday after clearing the Senate — the vote was 50-50 with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking the tie — appropriates almost $80 billion to the tax agency. That would enable the IRS to hire its desired 87,000 agents over the next decade to increase...

Hundreds of Mexican soldiers were sent to Ciudad Juarez Friday while violence sparked in the border town near Texas may be linked to a series of incidents in Tijuana and the surrounding area. The situation began in Ciudad Juarez with a prison face-off between members of two rival cartels, which caused a riot and shootouts that left 11 people dead, most of them civilians, authorities said. The violence then apparently moved west. The U.S. Consulate in Tijuana warned American citizens late Friday to avoid the area, while acknowledging that officials are “aware of reports of multiple vehicle fires, roadblocks, and...
