A Florida man who was shot by his stepson last month in self-defense was himself arrested this week for battery after leaving the hospital, according to multiple reports. On June 26, William Zimmerman, 53, was blasted by his stepson in the middle of a violent attack on his mother, Local 10 reported. Authorities told the outlet that the unidentified 25-year-old stepson fired the shot while on the phone with a 911 dispatcher. The shooter tended to his stepfather while waiting for medics and told investigators that Zimmerman routinely hit his mother and made threats toward both of them. “He also...

Humans snapping photos of themselves with melting skin, blood smeared faces and mutated bodies, while standing in front of a world that is burning is what the DALL-E AI believes will be the last selfies taken at the end of times. DALL-E AI, developed by OpenAI, is a new system that can produce full images when fed natural language descriptions and TikToker Robot Overlords simply asked it to 'show the last selfie ever taken.' The nightmarish results each show a human holding a phone and behind them are scenes of bombs dropping, colossal tornados and cities on fire, along with...

Hormone therapy for prostate cancer increases the risk of cardiovascular disease-related death especially in older men, according to a population study involving more than 13,000 patients. The highest risk was for coronary heart disease and stroke. The increased risks were apparent from the second year after cancer diagnosis and were more pronounced in older men. "Hormone therapy is often used for patients with prostate cancer," says lead author Justinas Jonusas. "Our results suggest clinicians should consider risk reduction and mitigation strategies for cardiovascular disease when developing a treatment plan for men diagnosed with prostate cancer, particularly for older patients." The...

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. regulators said Friday they are no longer considering authorizing a second COVID-19 booster shot for all adults under 50 this summer, focusing instead on revamped vaccines for the fall that will target the newest viral subvariants. Pfizer and Moderna expect to have updated versions of their shots available as early as September, the Food and Drug Administration said in a statement. That would set the stage for a fall booster campaign to strengthen protection against the latest versions of omicron. The announcement means the U.S. won’t pursue a summer round of boosters using the current vaccines...

A recurrent trope in American politics is that affluent liberals like electric vehicles, vote for politicians who subsidize them, and want the government to order companies to build them. As a result, many conservatives have an almost visceral reaction against E.V.s. We at the Anderson Economic Group argue that conservatives should neither love nor hate E.V.s. Instead, they should insist on a powerful principle: those who purchase and drive E.V.s should do so with their own money. If you really want to form public opinion, one of the most powerful weapons is also one of the simplest: let people see...

My friends at CHD had Zogby do a poll which found that 10% of Americans regret taking the vaccine. So that’s around very 22M unhappy customer in just America alone. So what do we do about that?Well, we force kids, workers, and the military to take the jab through mandates and coercion, of course! That’s the best way to get higher adoption of a very defective product. The CDC lied to us. They said that severe adverse events were rare.More troubling of course is that we’ve clearly been lied to. We were told serious adverse events were “rare.”10% buyer’s remorse isn’t rare at all.And...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — America's GDP has fallen over the last two quarters, stoking fears of a possible recession due to the fact that America is now in a recession. When asked whether the U.S. is now in a recession, Biden answered that he wasn't qualified to answer, as he doesn't have a biology degree. "I don't know if we're in a recession, I'm not a biologist," said Biden to the bronze bust of Hugo Chávez in his office. "Leave that stuff to the experts, Jack! If you ask me, the economy should lose some weight, anyway. Too fat. We deserve...

A comprehensive new Oxford study has added to the growing body of research highlighting the health effects of alcohol. The large-scale genetic analysis suggests that alcohol consumption directly accelerates aging, by shortening telomeres. Alcohol is among the most widely used recreational drugs, so it’s extremely important to examine its health impacts. Unfortunately, various studies have revealed that alcohol permanently damages DNA, directly causes cancer, contributes to cognitive decline and early-onset dementia, and can shrink the brain to the equivalent of 10 years of aging. And now a new study has found more evidence that alcohol consumption can accelerate biological aging....

An Arizona Public Opinion Pulse poll conducted by OH Predictive Insights gives this impression. The pollster released the data on Friday that shows Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake with a commanding 18-point lead over Karrin Taylor Robson.
