Why don’t Americans trust the government and other institutions? Maybe it’s because the government and other institutions aren’t trustworthy. There’s certainly plenty of evidence for both the lack of trust and the lack of trustworthiness. And if the trend continues, it bodes poorly for America. The news is bad on the lack of trust. A recent University of Chicago Institute of Politics poll found that a majority of Americans think that the government is “corrupt and rigged against people like me.” Two-thirds of Republicans and independents felt that way, but things weren’t much better among liberals, 51% of whom agreed. So...

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk spoke with Breitbart News Daily host Alex Marlow on Thursday, where he explained why college is a scam. “These are hedge funds with schools attached. These are not colleges,” Kirk affirmed. “I think the de-stigmatization of people that don’t go to college is necessary,” Kirk told Marlow, before offering a few statistics that he reveals in his newly released book, The College Scam. The Turning Point USA founder explained that “forty percent of people that enter a four-year college drop out,” which means that “only 60 percent of people that actually enroll will end...

Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser, a proponent of sanctuary city policy, has activated the National Guard as she says the region is at an illegal immigration “tipping point” with about 4,000 border crossers and illegal aliens arriving in recent weeks. On Thursday, Bowser announced that she had activated the D.C. National Guard to “help lead that effort” in dealing with waves of illegal immigration to the region where border crossers and illegal aliens are taking full advantage of President Joe Biden’s expansive Catch and Release operation. “We are very focused and we continue to be very focused on having the...

Bishop Thomas Brown's spouse, Thomas Mousin, will be allowed to attend worship and the other public events. While he's saddened by the conference's decision, Mousin hopes his presence leads to conversations. The Anglican church’s global conference is inviting gay and lesbian bishops for the first time, but is drawing the line at inviting their spouses, a decision that directly affects the Episcopal Bishop of Maine, one of only a few openly gay bishops in the Anglican Communion. Thomas Brown, leader the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, is traveling to Canterbury, England, on Wednesday with his spouse, Thomas Mousin, for the fifteenth...

Dr. Anthony Fauci says that the government’s response against monkeypox must include combating anti-gay stigmas that could be associated with the disease. Speaking with NPR’s “All Things Considered” on Tuesday, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), highlighted the importance of treating the virus as one that can affect anybody, and not only a certain part of the population. There are 19,188 confirmed cases of monkeypox in the current outbreak, which the World Health Organization has recently classified as a public health emergency. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 3,591 of them...

GOP Sen. Mitt Romney said that a video of fellow Republican Sen. Josh Hawley fleeing the Capitol on January 6, 2021, was not a good look for the Missouri lawmaker. "You know, I haven't heard what his explanation is, but obviously that was not his greatest moment in that hearing," Romney told Insider at the Capitol on Tuesday. Luria said that a Capitol Police officer present at the time told the committee that Hawley "riled up the crowd" and that it "bothered her greatly, because he was doing it in a safe space." When Emma Clayton decided to go back to work after five months of maternity leave, she knew there would be a price to pay. Not just less time with her young daughter but the hefty cost of daily childcare, too. But little did she realise just how crippling the astronomical sums involved would be. Absurdly, despite working full-time, the only way she could sustain her career and be a mother, too, was to rack up a £38,000 debt in the first eight years of her child's life. A marketing brand manager, Emma, 47, was earning a very healthy £50,000 a...

Mayor Eric Adams declared the US has entered into a recession and “Wall Street is collapsing” – contradicting President Joe Biden’s claims that the nation is doing fine earlier Thursday. “You tell me what to take off the plate if you want me to put something else on the plate. I’m coming to you as a city and saying, ‘This is how much we have, that’s it,” the Big Apple mayor said during an event in Staten Island at Sanzer Yeshiva hosted by nonprofit Project Hospitality, according to a report in Hamodia. “We are in a financial crisis like you...

Just visited my county website to check status of my drop box primary election ballot. Good News - ballot received and counted. Not So Good News - a bold, top of the Home Page announcement..."Following the decision in State v. Blake, if you were convicted of drug possession prior to February 2021, you may be eligible to have your conviction vacated, your sentence reduced, or your court fees refunded." Bottom Line - if your drug possession was unintentional or unknowing, you walk away free and compensated for your trouble!

Thursday's GDP numbers indicated a decline of 0.9 percent, pointing to a recession, considering the economy also declined by 1.6 percent last quarter. President Joe Biden and many others in his administration have denied we're even in a recession and have instead pointed to a different, more vague definition based on data from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Chief among the recession-deniers includes Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who gave remarks on Thursday. TUNE IN: @SecYellen hosts a press conference to discuss America’s recovery over the last 18 months from the depths of the pandemic, and the resilience of...

In an editorial called "Trump's Silence on Jan 6 Is Damning," the New York Post wrote: "His only focus was to find any means -- damn the consequences -- to block the peaceful transfer of power. There is no other explanation, just as there is no defense, for his refusal to stop the violence. It's up to the Justice Department to decide if this is a crime. But as a matter of principle, as a matter of character, Trump has proven himself unworthy to be this country's chief executive again." I disagree. Former President Donald Trump felt robbed, understandably so....
