As the all-important midterm elections of 2022 get closer, it’s more pressing than ever for the GOP to prepare for whatever shenanigans-laden curveballs the Dems are sure to throw at them. One would hope that the Republicans are finally aware that it’s always a matter of “when” and not “if” the Democrats will try to underhandedly game an election, especially after the debacle of 2020. During the Obama years, I used to say that any GOP candidate had to make sure that he or she was “outside the margin of ACORN.” I’ve updated that to “outside the margin of magic...

[Catholic Caucus] ACTION ITEM: Prayer to avert a serious act of persecution – UPDATEDIt seems that, again, there are those who cannot keep things to themselves. I had hoped to build a prayerful barrage regarding this really bad news, in the hope that, perhaps, there were still some chances that, behind the scenes, things could be worked out in a better way without the public eye on everything, thus to allow the Archdiocese to “save face” and not have to “dig in”.You might respond that, given the Archdiocese in question, that was an act of the greatest optimism, even naivete.I...

As California’s Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis demonstrates, Trump Derangement Syndrome now joins forces with Thomas Derangement Syndrome. “Who is Clarence Thomas? The Biden administration’s international tax agenda suffered a setback when Sen. Manchin rejected a 15% minimum tax on multinational companies this past week, dimming prospects of turning last year’s global tax agreement into reality. The Left is attempting to implement ranked-choice voting (RCV), also called instant runoff voting (IRV), in each state. RCV threatens election integrity and undermines the electorate’s ability to choose the best candidate in elections. The May 10, 2021 issue of The New American magazine explains how ranked-choice voting works and why it would harm U.S. elections: [It] is a complicated system that requires voters to assign a rank to each candidate on the ballot, regardless of whether they support that candidate.
