Big, high-profile liberal states like California and New York grab most of the headlines and would appear to lay legitimate claim to the title of “Most Outrageous Liberal State.” With their inept governors and big-city mayors, rampant crime, embarrassing homelessness and über-woke public policies, CA and NY definitely deserve the negative attention they attract. Massachusetts is more subtle. Sure, on a national level, we have the reputation for being “Taxachusetts” and everyone knows that John Kerry and the Kennedys are from here, but we don’t garner the adverse notoriety that CA and NY do. Instead of the humiliating blunders that...

TOKYO -- The family of the man suspected of shooting former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to death was impoverished as a result of his mother's huge donation to a religious group, an uncle of the man told reporters Friday. The mother of Tetsuya Yamagami, 41, joined the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, formerly known as the Unification Church, in 1991 and donated 20 million yen ($144,112) at the time of entrance, the uncle said. She continued to donate even after the family went bankrupt. Using a handmade gun, Yamagami shot Abe during a campaign event in the...

With Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s premiership on the brink of collapse, the European Union may be about to lose one of the last grown-ups in the room. Draghi, 74, is credited with saving the euro during the financial crisis and has played a crucial role in stabilizing the EU’s third-biggest economy as the bloc faces an energy crunch and war on its doorstep. But a domestic political feud within his coalition government proved too much for the Italian leader to tolerate and he announced on Thursday that he was offering to resign. His resignation was instantly rejected by Italian...

Kaja Kallas officially resigned as Estonia’s prime minister Thursday, bringing her government to an end. But she already has new coalition partners in place. On June 3, Kallas kicked the left-leaning Center Party out of the two-party coalition after escalating tensions over spending and welfare policies. The resignation of the prime minister was a formality needed in order to form a new government. In a statement, Kallas — who heads the center-right Reform Party — thanked the ministers with whom she led the country for one and a half years, saying that the coalition did “many good and great things”...

A previously unnoticed Proud Boys member, Robert Fussell, has shredded conspiracy theories about January 6 pushed by the House January 6 Select Committee and federal prosecutors Journalist Carter Walker of Pennsylvania’s Lancaster Online newspaper punches far above the paper’s fighting weight. Walker reported on July 7 that Robert Fussell revealed himself to be the third Proud Boys member that the federal prosecutors were trying to find in their conspiracy theory of a “seditious conspiracy.” That means that Seattle’s Fussell volunteered to be indicted for seditious conspiracy. Why would he do that? To prove that the Democrats and prosecutors are lying...

Expect JWST to release more information faster than its predecessor telescopes. Our tiny corner of the cosmos has just gotten bigger, brighter, and bolder, and it’s all thanks to the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Although the telescope began science operations merely six months ago, its first batch—including five neighboring galaxies called Stephan’s Quintet and the Carina Nebula, a gaseous expanse where stars are born—are among the most stunning celestial pictures yet made. Inspiring wonder in space-lovers around the world is harder than it looks. A lot...

It wasn’t until Dave Coulier listened to the entirety of ex Alanis Morissette’s album “Jagged Little Pill” in 1995 that he realized he may have “really hurt” the singer. On Tuesday’s episode of SiriusXM Faction Talk, the “Full House” star says he was driving in Detroit when he first heard Morissette’s vengeful heartbreak classic “You Oughta Know” — which has long been rumored to be about him — on the radio. The comedian, now 62, was really enjoying the song before he recognized the singer’s famous voice and thought to himself, “Ooh, oh no! Oh, I can’t be this guy!”
