Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) sees U.S. foreign aid for Ukraine as a fiscal issue tied to inflation. During an interview with Mobile, AL radio FM Talk 106.5, the junior Kentucky Republican U.S. Senator likened the expenditures for Ukraine to any other government expenditures, which he said all contribute to government debt. However, noting his sympathies for Ukraine in their plight against Russia, he said U.S. spending on the problem did not make sense. “Inflation is caused by spending money that you don’t have that the Federal Reserve buys the debt,” he said. “So whether it is for Ukraine, whether it...

INDIANAPOLIS – Former Mike Pence aide Diego Morales has won the Republican nomination for secretary of state in Indiana — an office documents show he once was fired from — defeating incumbent Holli Sullivan. Sullivan's loss is a major blow to the so-called establishment wing of the party, and yet another sign that Gov. Eric Holcomb's influence is dwindling in his second term. Holcomb had appointed Sullivan in March 2021 after then-Secretary of State Connie Lawson announced her retirement.

Their report notes that the Russian occupiers have made limited progress only on the outskirts of Severodonetsk and in the Metiolkino area. The ISW noted that the invaders will be able to completely capture Severodonetsk only if they concentrate most of their forces there, meaning they would need to draw back their units to other areas...

As France grapples with a particularly intense heatwave this weekend, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in many parts of the country, meteorologists say the increasingly early arrival of heatwaves is directly linked to global warming due to human activities. Although heatwaves now happen regularly, this one came as a surprise – a clear indication that the consequences of global warming are being felt earlier and earlier. Forecasters and meteorologists describe France’s current heatwave as “remarkably early”. Heatwaves in France usually take place in July or August. A heatwave in June is unprecedented and worrying, with meteorologists pointing the finger...

A US task force aims to prevent online harassment and abuse, with a specific focus on protecting women, girls and LGBTQI+ individuals. In the next 180 days, the White House Task Force to Address Online Harassment and Abuse will, among other things, draft a blueprint on a "whole-of-government approach" to stopping "technology-facilitated, gender-based violence." A year after submitting the blueprint, the group will provide additional recommendations that federal and state agencies, service providers, technology companies, schools and other organisations should take to prevent online harassment, which VP Kamala Harris noted often spills over into physical violence, including self-harm and suicide...

It seems obvious to me that the current occupant of the White House and his backers would rather see the American SUV with all 330,000,000 of us aboard drive off a cliff rather than allow us to use the abundant fossil fuel within our borders. While I admire their dedication to their cause, I would like them to stop long enough for all of us Green “unbelievers” to get off before they complete their journey. I wish the current Democrat party leaders had the insight once possessed by Jefferson Davis, the Democrat party leader in the first half of the...

Some relevant lessons on how the Nazis got total control in Austria -- for today. Before the COVID invasion, a story appeared in a magazine called “Military,” no longer published, about an Austrian woman who grew up under Hitler’s Nazi regime. I saved it and, in reexamining it, found that its relevance for us is greater than before. What the woman had to say presents parallels to current times that are, to say the least, astonishing. I shall call the woman Betty. Hitler did not take Austria with tanks and guns, said Betty, he was elected by the Austrian people....

Swedish officials are warning Ukrainian women living in refugee centers not to dress in a way that might provoke men from "other cultures" — code for Muslim migrants, who, in Sweden, are mostly of the Somali variety — who reside in the same refugee center. And how do these hapless Ukrainian refugees dress, to prompt such a warning? According to Gitana Bengtsson, who has been helping them, "they usually dressed like us, you and me. There is nothing strange about it. They did not look like prostitutes. If those women lived in the city, no one would tell them how...

Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson accused CBS host Stephen Colbert’s production crew of committing “insurrection.” “Last night, producers from Stephen Colbert’s show on CBS committed insurrection at the United States Capitol,” Carlson said, referring to the producers’ unescorted entrance into a House office building authorized by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.). The comments were made in the midst of a series of public hearings by the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Thus far, the hearings have highlighted the injuries inflicted on police officers by the rioters who broke into the Capitol demanding that Congress stop...
