After 889 days, two primetime media blowouts, and countless time wasted that could be spent solving Americaâs real problems, the partisan January 6 comittee made a humiliating confession: The committee likely wonât be making any criminal referrals.

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot resumed its public hearings Monday with recordings from depositions from Donald Trump's former attorney general and campaign director to detail how the former president pursued his false claims about the November 2020 election. Bill Barr, the attorney general at the time, said Trump became "detached from reality" in his pursuit of fighting the election result. The panel of seven Democrats and two Republicans has accused Trump of emboldening a mob of his supporters to lay siege to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

In a time of rising gasoline demand and refinery bottlenecks, the US could use more octane as the spread between premium gas (octane level of 93) and regular gas (octane level of 87) has blown out. Premium fuels eliminate engine knock in high-performance vehicles that have high compression engines. For most vehicles, using regular gas is advised and cheaper. Wholesale premium fuel sells for 62.50 cents more per gallon, a record high. Bloomberg explains the blowout of the spread is due to “low supplies of octane,” which may exacerbate gasoline supply tightness this summer for premium fuel, adding it could...

On Friday, June 3, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it will require American refiners to blend a record amount of ethanol and other biofuels into the country’s fuel supply. Reactions were mixed. Corn farmers in Iowa, where more than 40 percent of each year’s corn crop is turned into fuel, were happy. Many environmentalists, oil refiners, and yours truly were dismayed. There’s nothing inherently strange about President Joe Biden flying into Iowa to crow about mandating increased production of corn-based ethanol and E15 (motor fuel with a 15 percent ethanol content instead of the usual 10 percent)....

The scientists found the secret subterranean habitat tucked away beneath the Larsen Ice Shelf — a massive, floating sheet of ice attached to the eastern coast of the Antarctic peninsula that famously birthed the world's largest iceberg in 2021. Satellite photos showed an unusual groove in the ice shelf close to where it met with the land, and researchers identified the peculiar feature as a subsurface river, which they described in a statement(opens in new tab). The team drilled down around 1,640 feet (500 meters) below the ice's surface using a powerful hot-water hose to reach the underground chamber. When...

Metropolitan Theophanes of the Romanian Orthodox Church has consecrated a worship cross installed in the Botoşani penitentiary in memory of Christian confessors held here during the atheistic Communist regime, between 1952 and 1964. The consecration of the cross was attended by the officials of the Romanian Prison Administration, representatives of local authorities and the Romanian Armed Forces. “I met many people who had gone through prisons of that time in the 50-60s”, - said the Metropolitan. – “And I noticed three things in those who had to suffer for their faith: they had the power to forgive for everything that...

Brother Markus Fuhrmann opposes Catholic Church teaching not only on homosexuality, but on the issues of priestly celibacy and women’s ordination.(LifeSiteNews) – German Franciscans have elected a provincial superior who publicly revealed that he is homosexual only weeks prior. Brother Markus Fuhrmann, referred to as the first openly homosexual Franciscan in his office, said that he has received a “lot of encouragement” regarding his open homosexuality in his position as Provincial Minister, despite the condemnation of homosexuality by Scripture and Church teaching. The Catechism of the Catholic Church declares that “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as...

n Tuesday night Tucker Carlson explained how Joe Biden’s regulations are causing hundreds of flights to be canceled or delayed across the US. Last week the FAA notified all air traffic employees that people who haven’t had the vax, the COVID vaccine that doesn’t work, they have to wear masks on the job. And, once again, this has nothing to do with ‘the science.’ This is just another of the tyrannical actions the government bureaucrats came up with to punish fellow Americans who do not believe their nonsense. As Tucker explained, this affected about 4,000 of the 15,000 total air...

On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront,” CNN Political Commentator and former Obama administration official Van Jones stated that when President Joe Biden “does badly, when he stumbles, you get nervous and you wonder, is it just his stutter, is he tired, or is something else there?” And that “if anybody says that Democrats aren’t beginning to have these questions behind closed doors” about Biden’s age and stamina, “that’s not true.” Jones said, “I think everybody is looking very closely now. I — when he does — when Biden does well, he does really well. That gun speech he gave, he...

A pro-life pregnancy center in upstate New York sustained major damage in a fire and was defaced with pro-abortion graffiti Tuesday morning. The center, CompassCare, located in Amherst, New York, a suburb of Buffalo, posted photos on its Facebook page showing the building’s windows shattered, an office burned and heavily damaged, and the words “Jane was here” spray-painted on the side of the building. Variations of that message have been featured in some of the recent attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers and churches since a draft opinion leaked to the media last month indicated that the U.S. Supreme Court was...

The evidence that hurricane activity is at a historical low is hiding on the Caribbean seafloor, tucked away in odd geological features called blue holes. Blue holes are similar to sinkholes but on a much grander scale. They can be 300 meters deep, like the Dragon Hole in the South China Sea, or 300 meters wide, like the aptly named Great Blue Hole in Belize. The Bahamas is home to the world’s greatest concentration of blue holes, making it an appealing destination for paleotempestologists—scientists who study historical tropical cyclone activity. The seafloor at the base of a blue hole acts...

President Biden is tapping former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to replace Cedric Richmond as one of his most senior aides, bringing a Democratic rising star and former VP contender into the White House at a critical juncture, Axios has learned. Why it matters: As director of the White House Office of Public Engagement beginning in the coming weeks, Bottoms will immediately have access to some of the most high-level planning and strategy sessions in the West Wing — and to the president himself. The role is integral to developing Biden's policies and then convincing the broader Democratic coalition that...

Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that former President Donald Trump will face justice for being the “motor behind” the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Anchor Joy Reid said, “Can you prosecute anyone below Donald Trump for seditious conspiracy and leave him out, and if he were prosecuted, how would that even work constitutionally, and how would that play out?”

Hey, big spender. New Yorkers who love to dine out are reeling from the latest affront — huge price hikes for standard dishes with no “luxury” ingredients such as foie gras or truffles in sight. Roast chicken for $40. Halibut for $50. Pasta dishes starting at a whopping $42. Rampant inflation has landed with a splat on Big Apple restaurant menus, and it’s taking a big bite out of customers’ wallets. The cost of eating in a “midmarket” Manhattan restaurant has soared. Remember when appetizers typically cost $15-$25, with entrees in the $20 and $30 range? Based on my own...
