Biden falsely claimed again that Americans were unable to purchase a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed, despite being repeatedly fact-checked as false by even the Washington Post and Politifact. “You couldn’t buy a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed and you couldn’t go out and...

Whenever women protest the inclusion of trans-identified males in our spaces, we’re shouted down and dismissed as transphobes and hysterics. No ‘transwoman’ would ever do us harm; this never happens, we’re told. When we produce evidence to the contrary, we’re accused of bigotry and of demonising trans people. We cannot win. But the truth is that men, as a class, pose a threat to women, as a class. That is an unequivocal fact and male offending patterns are not altered by ‘gender identity’. Men can be a risk to women and children however they ‘identify’ and it’s impossible to tell...

When I first began this journey, I didn’t know how many hours of footage I would listen to, but I thought “100 hours” would be ideal. Trust me, after watching just 7 hours of Joe Biden talking — he’s not the most interesting speaker — I knew 100 hours would be impossible, so I decided to go one video at a time and see where it took me. Luckily, I work from home — I am a writer and a graphic designer — so I can listen to one clip after another while I do my work. I always paused...

People looking for ethical meat are inundated with reassuring labels. Those concerned about the treatment and conditions of animals might look for grass-fed or pasture-raised. Others might buy only antibiotics-free. Some focused on the environmental and climate effects of deforestation might buy local. But a shocking federal investigation has exposed an ethical concern for which there are no convenient labels: the treatment of workers doing the industry’s dirty, demanding and dangerous work. On May 12, the House’s select subcommittee on the coronavirus released a scathing report that outlined how several of the country’s largest meatpacking companies worked with political appointees...

With a lot of headlines warning of electrical blackouts this summer, I was looking for a reliable, decent, portable emergency radio. I've seen a number of them online, but I don't trust the reviews. Many of the reviews are praising a cheap unit, or whining why a $30 radio doesn't perform like a $1000 one. Any input or discussion would be appreciated. I did a search, but I didn't see this topic.
