As the European Union countries wrangle to reach a consensus on a total ban on imports of Russia's crude, India and China have stepped up purchases and are importing record volumes of Russian crude, according to data from energy analytics company Kpler.

Russia had up to 79 million barrels of crude either travelling on tankers or held in floating storage over the past week, Kpler's estimates have shown. That's more than double the 27 million barrels of crude Russia had seaborne in February, just before Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

China alone has THREE times the population of the entire EU.
India the same. And China consumes vastly more oil and natural gas than the EU.
The EU is becoming less and less relevant to Russia.

Don’t worry, all those single men of military service age admitted as refugees will turn things around for the EU.

Why does the EU need oil and gas anymore? Time to close the factories and ride bicycles. It is going to be so green of them.

Form what I heard, the Russian boycott hurts mostly Western Europe.
The only way it could work is, if US ups its oil production.
Then the oil price will go down and that can hurt Russia.
Tell it to Brandon!

“..The EU is becoming less and less relevant to Russia. ..”

How much of a decrease in Russian sales of oil has there been to the EU?? Very little, if any. But many promises.

But the interesting question is how much more money are the EU countries paying Russia?? The answer is “much more” as the cost has risen dramatically since the embargo was placed.

Who is the winnah and gets the chickin dinah????

Russian oil companies are registering profits of about x2,5 compared to last year.

I heard the comment of the Lukoil vice-president Leo Fedun who said he couldn’t care less about the European embargo and recommends all the oil companies cut production by a third.
Reasoning: it is better to sell 6 million barrels per day for $130 a barrel than 10 million barrels for $50.
I’d say he makes perfect sense.

One notes that the source of this remarkable bit of journalism is "headquartered" in Amman, Jordan. But interestingly....

"The Middle East North Africa Financial Network, Inc. (MENAFN) is the leading provider of online and wireless financial content and financial technology platforms to leading institutions and consumers around the Arab world. MENAFN was founded in June 2000 by a team of serial entrepreneurs with successful track records in the region. The company is a Delaware-based corporation with a wholly owned subsidiary in Amman, Jordan and a fully paid-up capital of $2 million."

Delaware? Why? Any thoughts? Joe....

At huge discount compared to what? Even $80 per barrel is a lot of money compared to the prices of last year. And you are overlooking another important advantage for the Russians. The oil India and China are getting with a discount is further improving the edge their economies are getting over the Western countries who get their oil at $110.

You heard it correctly.

This whole disaster would have never happened if pig face would not have shut down oil production.

But he had to do what the skanks around him told him to do.

Watching that pr#ck yesterday at the memorials for those kids he managed to get shot in TX, anyone can see that his ol lady was leading him around like a puppy dog.
Just like someone who has had a lobotomy. Followed her around like a puppy dog.

“Follow me Joe and do what I say.”
“Now these are the flowers they put here for the kids that got killed.” “Did anyone remind you of what happened the other day Joey?”
“Now look at them Joey and act like your saddened.”
“Now we are going to turn around Joey, dont forget to wave.” “Wave Joey, WAVE.”

The article is amusing for saying an obvious thing. Billions of consumers of energy -- not the EU and not the US -- will happily acquire energy from Russia, like it or not.

The EU with its dutiful and sometimes militarily-aggressive NATO and Europe's WEF and more are not in charge of the big wide world. AP and Reuters will debunk.....

The EU will not ban Russian oil. Or gas.
