PITTSBURGH (AP) — The victory party took on the feel of an evangelical worship service after Doug Mastriano won Pennsylvania’s Republican gubernatorial primary this month. As a Christian singer led the crowd in song, some raised their arms toward the heavens in praise. Mastriano opened his remarks by evoking Scripture: “God uses the foolish to confound the wise.” He claimed Pennsylvanians’ freedom would be “snatched away” if his Democratic opponent wins in November, and cast the election in starkly religious terms with another biblical reference: “Let’s choose this day to serve the Lord.” Mastriano, a state senator and retired Army...

POKROVSK, Ukraine — Camouflaged in a heap of branches cut from nearby trees, the weapon that Ukraine hopes will make a critical difference in its war with Russia is all but invisible from more than a few feet away. Soon, a single round shoots out with a boom and a howling, metallic shriek as it sails toward Russian positions. It is the American-made M777 howitzer. It shoots farther, moves faster and is hidden more easily, and it’s what the Ukrainian military has been waiting for. Three months into the war in Ukraine, the first M777s — the most lethal weapons...

Sen. Dick Durbin (Ill.), the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, is calling on his colleagues involved in bipartisan talks on gun reform to “do the right thing” following last week’s mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas. When asked by CNN “State of the Union” co-anchor Dana Bash on Sunday if lawmakers would take action following the shooting in Uvalde that left 19 students and two teachers slain, Durbin said the photos and stories of the victims have been “compelling” for lawmakers.

Joe Biden announced late Friday that Australia will ship more than 1.25 million cans of baby formula by the planeload to the U.S. to help address the nationwide shortage. The varieties include “easy-digest” goat’s milk, organic grass-fed cows milk and specialty formulas. Biden tweeted news the Australian supplier would ultimately fly 22.5 million bottles of formula (there are 22 bottles of formula per can) some 9,700 miles across the Pacific Ocean at his request. The development came after Jill Biden staged a media photo-op with pallets of baby formula flown in from Germany on Wednesday.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), one of the most ardent proponents of several lockdown policies during the coronavirus pandemic, though often skirting his own rules, tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, he announced on social media. Newsom used emergency powers to shut down businesses and even churches throughout the pandemic, gaining notoriety for having some of the most draconian policies in the country. At the same time, he also defied his own rules, infamously having dinner, maskless, with lobbyists at the elite French Laundry restaurant shortly after telling people to avoid restaurants, and taking off his mask during the NFC...

Actor Jon Voight reacted to the deadly Uvalde, Texas, school shooting by suggesting that Americans should undergo “proper testing” for gun ownership. On May 28, 2022, four days after the heinous attack on Uvalde’s Robb Elementary School, Voight posted a video to Twitter and said: It’s not about left right, guns no guns, this about brains that are disfunctioning, this is mental. This is not about healthy human beings serving the country with arms to bear or even the right of this constitution for bearing arms. It is a right to use arms with proper purpose to defend one’s safety,...

President Joe Biden falsely claimed Saturday that supporters of former President Donald Trump killed police officers during the January 6th riots on Capitol Hill. The president spoke about the January 6th protests during his commencement speech at the University of Delaware. He said: A mob of insurrectionists stormed the Capitol, the very citadel of democracy. Imagine what you’d be thinking today if you had heard this morning before you got here that a group of a thousand people broke down the doors of the parliament of Great Britain, killed two police officers, smashed and ransacked the office of members of...

At the end of May 2022, the 90-day deadline set by Russian law for a "special military operation in Ukraine" expires. Therefore, those soldiers who arrived in Ukraine in February have grounds to "legally" leave the service. This is evidenced by telephone conversations of the occupiers, which are intercepted by the Security Service of Ukraine. "They said there would be no replacement. Nobody wants to replace us, everyone refuses to come here. I think I'll sit this through — it's three months soon… I have to get out somehow... I'll look for work as a civilian," the occupier told his...

There is no greater injustice in economics than Seth Smith; just hearing his name makes me boil with anger and depression and nihilism. It is so sad. Now that his killer’s court case came to a conclusion this week, and we have ostensibly obtained some semblance of closure, I am sadder than ever. Seth Smith was a double major in economics and history at UC Berkeley. He was only 19 but a third-year student, scheduled to graduate next spring at the age of 20... he must have been very smart. He was a beautiful and brilliant young guy who had...

(No search results) Earlier this month, five Republican congressmen were subpoenaed by the January 6 select committee, a stunning and significant move to be sure, considering the power hungry committee members had not yet subpoenaed their own members until that point. On Thursday, two of those members, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote an op-ed published in The Wall Street Journal, charging that "The Jan. 6 Committee Is Weaponizing Majority Rule." In addition to McCarthy and Jordan, Republican Reps. Scott Perry (PA), Andy Biggs (AZ), and Mo Brooks (AL) were also subpoenaed. While McCarthy,...

Every mass school shooting strikes terror in parents’ hearts and grief in the communities in which they occur. You might from press coverage have the idea that they are a regular occurrence, but, in fact, they remain rare -- 13 mass school shootings since 1966. Still, like all seemingly incomprehensible tragedies it causes a search for meaning. After all, people my age went to schools where there were rifle clubs. Kids in those clubs regularly brought their weapons to school, and yet there weren’t any school shootings. (I expect in some rural areas of the country this may still be...

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. Psalm 103:17-18 (King James Version) It appears Robert Kennedy Jr is right with his theory stating as many as 85% of the deaths from Cold-19 were from medical malpractice. Now, what is the combined deaths of Covid and the Clot Shot? If it is what many are estimating the number of total deaths would be between 2 and 10 million? This would...

The nation’s eyes are on the Texas town of Uvalde following an elementary school shooting that has left 21 people dead and 17 more injured. On Tuesday morning, a gunman entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde after shooting his grandmother and crashing a car near the school, authorities said. According to an official from the Texas Department of Safety, the shooter walked into the building and fired at “children, teachers, whoever was in his way.” He killed 19 children and two teachers. Previously we have reported a video from the shooter as he entered the backdoor of Uvalde elementary school:

The sexual revolution has been a disaster for women – that was the provocative case set out by Louise Perry in yesterday’s Daily Mail. Here, in a second extract from her powerful new book, she takes on feminists who deride marriage. Yes, it’s hard work, she says, and most don’t live up to a romantic ideal, but it still offers the best protection possible for a woman and her children. The institution of marriage is now more or less dead. In 1968, eight per cent of children were born to parents who were not married; in 2019, it was almost...

Dementia Joe Biden has come unstuck in time again. His latest Billy Pilgrim moment happened Friday, graduation day at the U.S. Naval Academy. Brandon was delivering his usual incoherent stew of demagoguery and senility — equal portions of deranged whispers and sudden shouts, punctuated with one preposterous lie after another, about the number of trips he’s made to Iraq and Afghanistan, the economy, his athletic career etc. etc. Among other things, he said the graduates had spent “four days” in college. He called Zoom “Joom.” He claimed he’s convinced “North Korea” to impose sanctions on Russia. He said COVID is...

A suspected serial killer was charged in a seventh murder after witnesses recognized a distinct crescent moon forehead tattoo, officials said. Perez Deshay Reed, 26, of St. Louis, was already accused in six other killings when he was slapped with the additional first-degree murder charge on Friday, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office announced. He’s additionally charged with one count of armed criminal action and two counts of fraud involving a credit or debit device. The latest charges stem from the fatal shooting in November 2021 of Stephon D. Johnson, whose body was found stuffed inside of a closet in his...

NEW BRIDGE, CHICKAHOMINY RIVER, Va., Monday Evening, May 26, 1862. Within the past three days the disposition of the whole rebel army before Richmond seems to have been changed. Instead of the rebels retreating, with all their supplies and camp equipage toward the city, they are coming from it in large numbers, and are evidently determined to make a stand between it and the Chickahominy River. It was ascertained beyond a doubt that five days ago, but a small force of the enemy -- say six thousand men -- occupied the ground between us and Richmond. It was then supposed...

Some key reforms could restore accountability in higher education, making colleges affordable and focused on actually educating students. American colleges and universities continue to lose students steadily. The latest statistics confirm their continuing decline. Here’s some headline numbers: The number of total enrolled postsecondary students declined 3.3 percent year-over-year, the most significant rate of decline in enrollment since 1951. This number has declined nearly 10 percent since 2010, from 21 million to 19 million. College enrollment totaled 15.9 million undergraduate students nationwide in Fall 2020, a 4.3 percent decline year-over-year. This number has declined more than 12 percent since 2010,...
