Mesa County District Attorney Dan Rubinstein looked into an election report that was prepared for Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters’ legal team, which claimed it found evidence of “potentially unauthorized and illegal manipulation of tabulated vote data” for elections in 2020 and 2021. The report, named Report #3, claims Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold was involved in deleting tens of thousands of voting records.

xtreme temperatures and ongoing drought could cause the power grid to buckle across vast areas of the country this summer, potentially leading to electricity shortages and blackouts, a US power grid regulator said Wednesday. NERC, a regulating authority that oversees the health of the nation’s electrical infrastructure, says in its 2022 Summer Reliability Assessment that extreme temperatures and ongoing drought could cause the power grid to buckle. High temperatures, the agency warns, will cause the demand for electricity to rise. Meanwhile, drought conditions will lower the amount of power available to meet that demand. “Industry prepares its equipment and operators...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is engaged to longtime boyfriend Riley Roberts, she confirmed on Twitter. “It’s true! Thank you all for the well wishes,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. The couple were engaged in Puerto Rico last month but haven’t set a date as they take “some space to savor this time before diving into planning,” the congresswoman told Business Insider.

Bloomberg.com published a story today headlined “Age of Scarcity Begins With $1.6 Trillion Hit to World Economy” which led Steve Bannon to go on a rant about how this should be an Age of Abundance, and it was — under President Trump! He’s joined in the first segment by economist Dave Brat, the dean of the Liberty School of Business, for an explanation of how we got here. In Part 2, watch energy consultant Dave Walsh talk about how the crisis is just getting started. Just wait until fall when our farmers take in the harvest, which will be...

The Catholic hierarchy, from the Pope down, must stop leading Catholics to believe they can vote for politicians who support violence in the womb. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) held a national day of fasting and praying the rosary last Friday in response to the leaking of the draft Supreme Court decision that could nuke the Roe v. Wade precedent. Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the USCCB, and Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore, chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities, invited the faithful to unite in penance and prayer for the nation,...

The U.S. national average for regular gas could top $6.00 per gallon in the coming months, J.P. Morgan predicted this week in a report titled “Cruel Summer.” The national average for regular gas has continued to climb for ten consecutive days, standing at $4.589 on Thursday. That reflects a 2 cent increase over the last day, 17 cent increase over the last week, and a nearly 49 cent increase over the last month. What is more, J.P. Morgan predicts that it will only worsen in the coming months, topping $6.00 per gallon nationally. “With expectations of strong driving demand …...

The White House is working to put advanced anti-ship missiles in the hands of Ukrainian fighters to help defeat Russia's naval blockade, officials said, amid concerns more powerful weapons that could sink Russian warships would intensify the conflict. Ukraine has made no secret it wants more advanced U.S. capabilities beyond its current inventory of artillery, Javelin and Stinger missiles, and other arms. Kyiv's list, for example, includes missiles that could push the Russian navy away from its Black Sea ports, allowing the restart of shipments of grain and other agricultural products worldwide.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul recently signed into law a $220 billion budget riddled with wasteful spending, including $220 million for free Medicaid for illegal immigrants and a $600 million subsidy for a new Buffalo Bills stadium, according to the New York Post. Federal law prohibits federal tax dollars from going toward Medicaid for illegal immigrants, so New York taxpayers will pick up the tab for healthcare for up to 20,000 illegal immigrants living in the Empire State. Those making less than $18,754 would qualify for the program, though many other details regarding eligibility have yet to be announced. Hochul,...

When Peter was sifted, he failed miserably in one sense, but not in his faith. You may be thinking, “How can that be? This man denied knowing Jesus three different times.” If Peter had failed completely, Jesus’ praying would have been to no avail. I know Peter’s faith did not fail. Just as he swore and it looked as if the Lord had lost a friend and anointed disciple, Peter looked into the eyes of Christ and melted. “Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, ‘Before the rooster crows, you will deny me...

Soon, high school graduates will be making monumental decisions that will determine their future quality of life. These decisions include whether to attend college; if so, where; and finally, what degree program to pursue. Research shows that while not guaranteeing career success, a college degree often affords students more control over their destiny and enables a higher quality of life. Should they decide to attend college, graduates face two additional issues that plague U.S. higher education: 1) rapidly increasing cost and 2) the declining value of a college degree. Students, parents, and employers have looked to our universities to solve...

Medical conscience concerns are too serious to be allowed to fluctuate according to the whims of the current presidential administration. Thanks to the leaked opinion in the Dobbs case, abortion “rights” have become a hot topic on the left. But what about the rights of health care workers to refuse to abort babies? Or to refuse participation in other referrals or procedures (such as euthanasia or gender reassignment surgeries) to which they object on moral or religious grounds? Under a proposed rule removal by the Biden administration’s Health and Human Services Department (HHS), health care workers will have little recourse if...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi acknowledged there are 'challenges' for Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections but said that her party has every intention of holding on to power. 'I have no intention of the Democrats not winning the House this November,' the California Democrat told reporters on Thursday morning. 'People really want us to win,' she added. 'There are challenges,' Pelosi acknowledged, blaming new strains of Covid-19 and 'other factors' that had log jammed the supply chain and lead to 40 year-high inflation, running at 8.3 percent as of April.

There is seldom any meaningful accountability for government incompetence. After presiding over the biggest Federal Reserve failure in 40 years and with inflation rating as the top concern among Americans, Jerome Powell's nomination to a second term as chairman was approved this past week by the Senate, 80–19. I know the usual arguments for ignoring the Fed's spectacular errors, even at a time when inflation is such an issue. Most common are that other candidates would be even worse or that we need continuity. Maybe. The truth, though, is that a good person facing bad incentives in that job will...

The Biden administration will propose a new five-year plan for offshore oil and gas development by June 30, the date when the current plan expires, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said on Thursday. The announcement comes as the administration has faced pressure from Republican lawmakers to expand domestic drilling to address soaring fuel costs. President Joe Biden, however, wants to reform the federal government's oil and gas program to consider its impacts on climate change. Haaland testified before the Senate energy committee to answer questions on the administration's 2023 budget proposal, but was grilled by Republican senators and Democrat Joe Manchin...

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) ripped into Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm on Thursday after she tried to blame soaring inflation on Russian President Vladimir Putin. Hawley asked Granholm whether she thought the rising price of gasoline was “acceptable,” to which she said “it is not, and you can thank the activity of Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine, and pulling–“ To which Hawley said “With all due respect, Madame Secretary, that’s utter nonsense,” adding “The average gas price in my state was $2.07. Eight months later, eight months later, long before Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, that price was up over 30%,...

The group that posted a viral sexually explicit video of a nude Rep. Madison Cawthorn with another man in bed is now focusing on Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert for its next takedown, Insider has learned. "I think we're gonna go after Lauren Boebert in Colorado in a similar way," David B. Wheeler, cofounder of the American Muckrakers PAC, told Insider on Wednesday. "I think we're gonna engage in that race pretty quickly." The group on Thursday launched a "fireboebert.com" website, seeking tips on information, pictures, videos, or documents on Boebert or her associates. The first tweet by @FireBoebert read, "Hi...

For the 2020 census, all states were not counted equally well for population numbers used to allocate political representation and federal funding over the next decade, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report released Thursday. A follow-up survey the bureau conducted to measure the national tally's accuracy found significant net undercount rates in six states: Arkansas (5.04%), Florida (3.48%), Illinois (1.97%), Mississippi (4.11%), Tennessee (4.78%) and Texas (1.92%). It also uncovered significant net overcount rates in eight states — Delaware (5.45%), Hawaii (6.79%), Massachusetts (2.24%), Minnesota (3.84%), New York (3.44%), Ohio (1.49%), Rhode Island (5.05%) and Utah (2.59%). For the...

We’ve been sold a bill of goods about contraception and abortion, things we’re told ‘liberate’ us that actually suppress what makes us women. In all of the furor surrounding the (likely) imminent demise of Roe v. Wade, it has become clear to me that women have been made to fear and resent their biology for far too long. Too many women have bought the lie that they have no options but to rely on hormonal contraceptives and, if that fails, abortion. But the broad dependence on these methods — making women responsible to manage their own and men’s fertility — is...
