On this morning's New Day, CNN reporter Laura Jarrett, daughter of former top Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, supported pro-abortion protests outside the homes of conservative Supreme Court Justices. She claimed that a conversation about civility "misses the mark." Substitute host John Avlon actually tried to frame the conversation around where the line should be drawn when it comes to protests, but Jarrett would have none of it. "I think for a lot of people, a conversation about civility feels like it misses the mark when constitutional rights that you believe that you had for over 50 years are about to...

“We’re very aware of what the Chinese government’s ambitions are in the Pacific,” Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said. Australia’s prime minister said on Monday he was aware of China’s ambitions in the southwest Pacific after a newspaper reported plans by Beijing to build wharves, shipyards, and underwater cables in the Solomon Islands. The Australian newspaper published a leaked four-page draft maritime cooperation agreement between China and the Solomon Islands dated this year. That follows the recent confirmation by China and the Pacific island nation that they have signed a separate security agreement that the United States and its allies...

As NATO countries continue to finance Ukraine, Putin has reason to worry. Top Russian advisors are now preparing for “a provocation aimed at accusing the Russian armed forces of using chemical, biological, or tactical nuclear weapons,” Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the Russian Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Force, stated. The Russians are preparing for three possible scenarios that would result in World War III. The first scenario involves attacking the Russian-controlled Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Station. The Russian Defense Ministry said the nuclear site is in critical condition, which could lead to a disaster that will certainly be...

LOS ANGELES (AP) — No, insists Patrisse Cullors, former leader of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation: Despite allegations of financial improprieties, neither she nor anyone else in leadership misused millions of dollars in donations. But in an interview with The Associated Press, Cullors acknowledged that BLM was ill-prepared to handle a tidal wave of contributions in the aftermath of protests over George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police in 2020. She said the foundation was slow to build the necessary groundwork. She and others offered insights into the growing pains of an organization that went from...

China has conducted a series of combat drills in the seas around Taiwan in a demonstration of its military might, apparently warning foreign allies that it has the ability to completely encircle the island. The exercise, carried out to the east and southwest of the self-governed island which Beijing regards as a rogue province, involved the Liaoning aircraft carrier and seven escort vessels, which were spotted last week crossing the Miyako Strait and entering the Pacific Ocean.

In 1971, Jim Jones loaded up some buses in California and took members of his Peoples Temple across the country to Pennsylvania — to Woodmont, the estate of the late spiritual leader Father Divine, who had a much bigger church (and a lot more money) than Jones did. (snip) Once he got rid of the people who saw that he was a scumbag and a clown, he was left with a roomful of the people who didn’t see. And he went from there, with a toolkit of very plain and direct tools. “Nudge groups” and SPI-B weren’t blazing trail. “Behavioral...

he Democrats seem to want Mastriano to be the Republican candidate to face their guy, Attorney General Josh Shapiro, in November. Knowing that Mastriano would be by far the weakest candidate to run against Shapiro in the “purple” state of Pennsylvania, the Dems have taken the nearly unprecedented step of spending a ton of money on TV ads and glossy mailers directed at REPUBLICAN voters, stating that “A vote for Doug Mastriano is a vote for Donald Trump”, and “Doug Mastriano: Trump’s Best Friend in Pennsylvania”.

During the years I taught college English, I had a ringside seat watching a new breed of Jacobins seize control of a university English department, then extend their reach throughout the humanities. Posing as the champions of “social justice,” they have built an empire cultivating “victims”—and silencing colleagues who oppose the new mission of the radical left. For four decades they have ruled universities nationwide, but my focus here is upon the hoodoo they have inflicted upon North Carolina’s Big Four universities. My first exposure to the type came in August, 1984, when new department head John Bassett announced plans...

Several U.S. Navy personnel who served aboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) say they encountered a mysterious, orb-shaped flying object in 2004 while on duty off the eastern coast of the United States.
