“We’re very aware of what the Chinese government’s ambitions are in the Pacific,” Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said.
Australia’s prime minister said on Monday he was aware of China’s ambitions in the southwest Pacific after a newspaper reported plans by Beijing to build wharves, shipyards, and underwater cables in the Solomon Islands.

So, just get over it. That decision has been made.
You’ve gotta hand it to the Chinese. They just quietly go about their nefarious business, like cockroaches or bedbugs or termites. And we refuse to call an exterminator . . . the very idea is anathema, wouldn’t be nice.
So one authoritarians regime which Australia has quite proven to be during Covid, gets taken over by another what difference does it make?
