Stocks fell sharply early Monday, as U.S. rates continued to rise and traders struggled to find their footing after big market swings last week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 430 points, or 1.5%. The S&P 500 futures fell 1.7%, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 2.1%.

I’d say we are back to the 1970s with inflation, stagnant growth and an incompetent foreign policy but that ignores the fact that we now have a structural federal budget deficit that is much, much worse than the 1970s. The only surprise is that the stock market has not fallen further.

I’m guessing that’s only because bank CDs and quality bonds are paying so little. If and when those instruments start paying 5% or more ... then the stock market will get really slammed.
A little 1979, 1929, and 1729 all mixed together.
I’m not buying back into equities yet. IMHO long-term treasury funds like TLT are attractive. They’ve fallen 20% from their ATH (read: probably have dropped about as much as they’re gonna). And they tend to rise as the stock market drops bigly.

As long as Vanguard/Black-Rock are threaded thru just about all, if not all, large equities, I’ll never buy another stock.
FED is being toppled as we ‘speak’, exciting times we live in.
