  • Mississippi's governor won't say if he will BAN contraception next as Tate Reeves confirms his state will outlaw abortion if Roe v. Wade is overturned claiming 'decision making on abortion policy' should be up to the states

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves refused to say on Sunday if his state would consider legislation outlawing contraception in the future if Roe v. Wade is overturned. Reeves confirmed to NBC's Meet the Press host Chuck Todd that Mississippi would completely ban abortion at the state level if the landmark case were overturned by the Supreme Court. 'What about contraception and birth control, particularly IUDs? I mean, is this total ban that gets put in on abortion, is that going to have an impact on women that decide to have certain types of birth control like IUD?' Todd asked the governor...

Vladimir Putin suffered another grievous blow ahead of his Victory Day military extravaganza in Moscow tomorrow with the death of his 39th colonel in his bloody war in Ukraine. Lt-Col Fezul Bichikaev, 36, was a high-flying elite soldier who died on a secret intelligence mission. The father-of-three is being portrayed as a hero who was killed near Kharkiv 'with a machine gun in his hands covering his subordinates', according to reports in Russia. A radio signal announced 'the commander is wounded' after a bullet pierced an artery, but he reportedly ordered his men: 'It's a scratch! Keep working! Work!' 'Thanks...

“Fertilizer shortages are real now.” Uttered by USAID’s Samantha Power in a May 1 ABC interview with former Democratic advisor George Stephanopoulos, the words briefly drowned out the din of the news cycle. They were not unexpected to some. Power, who served as U.N. ambassador under Obama, mentioned fertilizer shortages after weeks of hints from the Biden administration. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki repeatedly alluded to challenges obtaining fertilizer in recent press briefings. So did President Joe Biden himself in a joint statement with EU President Ursula von der Leyen. “We are deeply concerned by how Putin’s war in...

Carville added that conservatives are 'justified' in belief that Dems are dysfunctional Democratic strategist James Carville said Thursday that conservatives are unafraid of the political fallout from potentially overturning Roe v. Wade because of their "justified" belief that the Democratic Party is incapable of motivating voters and would rather talk about "veganism" and "pronouns" than winning issues. During an appearance on CNN’s "OutFront," host Erin Burnett asked Carville if he believes the Democratic National Committee's message that outrage over the Supreme Court leaked opinion draft, regarding the landmark abortion ruling, will motivate voters to vote against Republicans in November. Carville...

Last month marked the 200th birthday of Ulysses S. Grant, a man second only to Abraham Lincoln in his contributions to ending slavery and saving the Union during the Civil War, but whose legacy today is often under assault for his other imperfections, as we view him through a 21st century lens. As a former history teacher, overcoming this tendency to read history backwards was one of my greatest challenges, and it continues to be an educational struggle in the classroom today. Historical empathy calls for a deep understanding of people’s actions in the past, multiple forms of evidence and...

Shortly before Thanksgiving 1919, as Antone Lepara was waiting to be hanged for murder, his soon-to-be widow received an unusual request. The letter asked Mrs. Lepara if she would be willing to sell her husband’s testicles after his death. The writer, a wealthy businessman, was willing to pay $10,000 — almost $150,000 in today’s money. It was a good arrangement all-around for the businessman. He’d have a new, virile pair of testes from a man no longer in need of them, and one of America’s foremost experts on gland surgery worked right on the prison premises: San Quentin Chief Surgeon...

The world's bestselling medical textbook removed the definition of gender dysphoria from its website after the Florida Department of Health cited it in recent guidance advising against gender transitions for children and adolescents, according to an email obtained by Fox News Digital. The email from Melissa Adams, who is Merck Manuals' director of marketing and brand awareness, also asked the Florida Department of Health to adjust their guidance based on the update in the manual, which was first published in 1899 and remains the oldest continuously published medical textbook in English.

A recent article posted on Red State pointed to abortion-related comments made by podcast giant Joe Rogan, suggesting that we can win the pro-life argument by listening to his approach. In the same way, recent comments by the very liberal Bill Maher point to ways that we can have a discussion with pro-abortion friends and colleagues without using religious-based arguments. To be sure, in order to change hearts and minds, we need God’s help. And under no circumstances should we ever back away from our deeply-held, biblically-based convictions about the humanity of the baby within the womb. At the same...

That threat is now playing out through vandalism and targeted disruptions specifically targeting America’ Christian churches.

I don't ever laud a restaurant on this forum or the internet, but this time is an exception. I grew up in Thailand and this restaurant has awesome Thai food...REALLY good! It is in Del Valle just east of Austin and has very good food at a reasonable price...if you can get a seat. Can't tell you how I found about it because that is proprietary business information, but highly recommend. You need to meet "Tenet" when you go there. Very good place to eat.

On April 23, 2022, Spectrumnews1.com published an article by Ryan Chatelain about a letter to the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM). The letter was about the increase in firearm-related deaths among young people aged 0-19. There was a significant increase in 2020 over 2019. Few Americans would be surprised by this, as the increase in homicides, especially in urban centers among young minority adults, is well known. In a peculiar twist, Chatelain attributes the cause of the deaths to firearms. This was a significant change from the original letter to the NEJM.From spectrumnews1.com:Firearms have surpassed automobiles as the leading cause...

What do you get when Academy Award-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese decides to executive produce a film on a Jesuit priest’s ministry to “LGBTQ Catholics”? An exquisitely captured propaganda piece, and a glimpse of a distorted, rigid, inflexible “LGBTQ+” culture of unreality. Welcome to the newly released documentary film about Father James Martin, S.J., titled “Building a Bridge,” after Martin’s book of the same name. And welcome to an unquestioningly stubborn world of make-believe in which error is truth, evil is good, sin is virtue, men are women, women are men, men have husbands, women have wives, sodomy is love, and...

Spain is expected to produce its lowest volume of fruit in the last 40 years due to frost that hit its fruit-production regions in early April1, 2, especially the Ebro Valley – one of Europe’s most important producing areas of sweet fruit. Manel Simon, the general director of the Catalan fruit association – Afrucat, said producers must plan their summer very well in the face of this decrease in production, adding that he hoped Spanish companies would prioritize exporting their production to the closest destinations and that there would be a significant decrease in exports to the third countries.3 Expectations...

America is grappling with some fundamental disagreements this Mother’s Day. Powerful cultural forces are erasing basic concepts of maternity and femininity. If we cannot affirm a sentence like “Only women can be mothers,” then what exactly are we celebrating? From states like California that are furnishing more support for abortion than for childbirth, to an incoming Supreme Court justice who dared not publicly define the word “woman,” some of our most basic human assumptions are more controverted than ever. And, of course, whoever leaked the draft of the Dobbs decision has poured gasoline on all of those conflicts, as the...
