The mother of Baby P could be released from prison within weeks after the Parole Board rejected a government challenge against its ruling. Tracey Connolly was jailed in 2009 after admitting causing or allowing the death of 17-month-old son Peter at home in Tottenham, north London, in 2007. Known publicly as Baby P, he had suffered more than 50 injuries. Justice Secretary Dominic Raab condemned the decision and said the Parole Board needed an "overhaul". Mr Raab, who had asked the Parole Board to reconsider its decision made in March, described the actions of Connelly, now aged 40, as "pure...

This month, the Republican Party is proud to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and the incredible achievements and contributions of Asian Americans to our great country. While we do, we also commit to redoubling our efforts to grow our party of opportunity and represent Americans of all backgrounds. With midterm elections just around the corner, there has never been a more important time to vote for common sense. As the radical Democrat Party moves further and further left, the Republican message of economic growth, law and order, and quality education is winning. Asian Americans are leading the charge in...

I don’t believe as many red states will outright ban abortion as left-wing pundits, politicians, and activists suggest. More likely, a handful will enact blanket bans; a majority will permit abortion to some limited extent; and most, if not all, true-blue states will make abortion so permissible that Ralph Northam style post-birth murder will be state sanctioned and applauded. National abortion-promoting organizations that have the support of millions and billions of Benjamins, will divert those funds and their efforts to providing round-trip transportation to abortion states for women residing in anti-abortion states. Expect a cottage industry of abortion tourism to...

Russian President Vladimir Putin apologized to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Thursday for comments made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov who stated earlier this week that Hitler had "Jewish blood," according to the Prime Minister's Office. Lavrov also stated that "the biggest antisemites are the Jews themselves" while attacking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is Jewish, in an interview with Italian television. Earlier this week, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid called Lavrov's statements "unforgivable" and Bennett stated that "lies like these are meant to blame the Jews themselves for the most terrible crimes in history, which were committed against...

THIRD WEEK OF EASTER JOHN 6:44-51 Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus declares, "I am the living bread that came down from heaven." The bread is referred to as living. Bread is good, but it’s not alive. Instead, when we take it in, and it is turned by our bodies into fat or muscle or bone, then it comes alive. But it is just the opposite with the living bread of Christ. This we take in and we become alive in a way that we were not before. And this is why Jesus says that he is bread come down from...

Tesla CEO Elon Musk correctly slammed NBC News for trying to bury the Hunter Biden laptop scandal. Phony fact-checker PolitiFact tapped into all levels of Pravda to pretend that wasn’t true. The Facebook fact-checker ran an idiotic May 4 “fact check” headlined: “Elon Musk’s false claim that NBC News covered up Hunter Biden laptop story.” Musk went after NBC News for having a conniption over his recently successful multibillion-dollar bid to purchase Twitter. Musk stated on Twitter May 2 that NBC was the “[s]ame org that covered up Hunter Biden laptop story, had Harvey Weinstein story early & killed it...

The headline screamed “NASDAQ PLUNGES 5%! True, it did, but it simply lost the gain’s from yesterday’s surprisingly mild Fed announcement. Don’t panic … about the NASDAQ. EVERYBODY PANIC about rising mortgage rates.

The USAF wants to retire the F-22 beginning around 2030 mainly due to two reasons: the F-22’s high operating costs, and the F-22’s obsolescence in a number of areas, with the latter being the primary reason. With regards to high operating costs, the F-22 fleet was not produced in sufficient quantities to replace the F-15, and therefore its logistics and supply chain do not benefit from economy of scale as much as jets like the F-16 and F-35. The F-22 also uses legacy stealth materials that increase maintenance costs; properly retrofitting the F-22 with the F-35’s more durable full material...

In the wake of Federal Reserve Chairman Jay Powell’s announcement that interest rates would be raised by 0.5%, Fox Business Network host Larry Kudlow on Thursday warned that the U.S. economy was “in trouble.” Kudlow, appearing on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” said it was going to be “hard to escape a recession” in the coming years.

The chances of Israel playing a mediating role in the Ukraine war have ended, according to the Jerusalem Post, following anger at comments by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. During an interview on Italian television on Sunday Lavrov said that Adolf Hitler had "Jewish blood" and that "some of the worst antisemites are Jews." It sparked a stern rebuke from his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid who called the comments "scandalous" and demanded an apology. Lapid said: "Jews did not murder themselves in the Holocaust," referring to the killing of 6 million European Jews and other minority groups by Nazi Germany....

Politicians are using Ukraine as a photo opportunity. Would the most powerful government officials risk traveling there if Kyiv was under constant attack? Would they publicly stroll the streets in Russia’s alleged top target? Third in line to lead the US, 82-year-old Nancy Pelosi, insisted on putting a wall and armed guards around the US capitol, stating she feared for her life. She had no problem flying to what has been described as an active warzone to take pictures with Zelensky and personally deliver him billions of dollars for a war the media states he is winning. What she actually...

Sen. Mitt Romney says President Donald Trump is "very likely" to become the 2024 Republican presidential nominee if he runs. "I don't delude myself into thinking I have a big swath of the Republican Party," Romney, a two-time Republican presidential contender and 2012 presidential nominee, said in an interview with Politico. "It's hard to imagine anything that would derail his support," Romney said of Trump. "So if he wants to become the nominee in '24, I think he's very likely to achieve that."

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island Senate Minority Leader Dennis L. Algiere, a Westerly Republican, on Thursday said he will not seek reelection this year after 30 years in the Senate and 25 years leading the GOP caucus. “I thought 30 years was a good time to move along and give someone else a chance to come in,” Algiere said. “I will always be an advocate for my communities — Westerly, Charlestown, and South Kingstown — and I will continue to be involved in Westerly.” Algiere, 61, noted that he also has professional obligations as an executive vice president at the Washington...

Conservatives on Twitter had a field day Wednesday bashing Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., for getting his far left talking points all mixed up. At an abortion rally, he denied that men can get pregnant, which goes against current woke ideology. On Wednesday, Newsom posted a video of himself speaking to abortion and Planned Parenthood supporters about his commitment to defend the "reproductive rights" of women and girls in California in a rebuke of the potential SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v Wade that was leaked in a court draft opinion on Monday. Newsom’s speech consisted of the typical boilerplate pro-abortion...

Anyone who is taking a diuretic and a renin-angiotensin system (RSA) inhibitor for high blood pressure should be cautious about also taking ibuprofen, according to new research. Diuretics and RSA inhibitors are commonly prescribed together for people with hypertension and are available under various pharmaceutical brand names. Painkillers such as ibuprofen are available over-the-counter in most pharmacies and stores in popular brands. Researchers used computer-simulated drug trials to model the interactions of the three drugs and the impact on the kidney. They found that in people with certain medical profiles, the combination can cause acute kidney injury, which in some...
