President Joe Biden was interrupted by the Easter Bunny, at the White House on Monday. Biden was on the South Lawn of the White House for an Easter egg roll when he wandered off and started talking to people. As the president started commenting on Afghanistan and Pakistan at an Easter egg event, a costumed staffer rushed up to him and started waving its hands to interrupt him. The costumed bunny figure redirected the president to the Easter Egg roll event. Biden’s press assistant Angela Perez posted a picture of the bunny on her social media account. A note on...

A federal judge in Florida voided the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s mask mandate for airports, planes and other forms of travel Monday, saying the agency overstepped its authority. US District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, an appointee of President Donald Trump, ruled that the CDC did not properly explain its decision last week to extend the mandate for another 15 days after it was originally set to expire Monday. “Because ‘our system does not permit agencies to act unlawfully even in the pursuit of desirable ends,’ the court declares unlawful and vacates the mask mandate,” Mizelle wrote in her...

Exclusive: On April 1, 2022, the official website of Iranâs supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei, Khamenei.ir, posted a video titled, âIs the slogan âDeath to Americaâ rational?â The answer the video provides is yes. Ironically, the Ayatollahâs video bashes the US for being murderous, oppressive toward (foreign) women, and racist; meanwhile, Iranâs government is a major state sponsor of terrorism, has harshly-enforced laws specifically oppressive toward women, and constantly posts anti-Semitic hate. While the American government has certainly done some truly terrible things, âDeath to America,â however rationalized (and the Ayatollah tried to tweak the obvious meaning), is a wicked, bloodthirsty...

The Biden White House announced its participation in a second global COVID summit on May 12, 2022.The goal of this new summit aiming to “bring solutions to vaccinate the world for everyone, everywhere.”They’re still pushing the experimental vaccines that wear off in a few months. Unreal.

I am a Latina and the former Democratic majority leader of the California State Senate. The first woman to ever hold that position. I represented one of the most Latino and Democratic areas in California: East L.A., the birthplace of the Chicano youth walkout over racism in education in the 1960s. Yet I, too, am on the brink of leaving the Party and the roots of my disillusionment run deep. Latinos largely embrace the American Dream. We know how to hustle, to work hard, to believe that 'si se puede.' According to the Small Business Administration, as of 2021 there...

A Quincy-based nonprofit of trail builders is set to break ground on 10 miles of new trail just east of Truckee in North Lake Tahoe this spring. It’s the southernmost leg in a much larger project that aims to hook up 15 rural Sierra Nevada communities to a 600-mile network of multi-use, singletrack trail, a project called Connected Communities. Connected Communities is a far-reaching $40 million vision. The group leading this plan, the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship (SBTS), is not to be underestimated. They have a proven track record of getting trails put down on the ground, trails that go...

With many people working remotely, everybody should by now know how to behave when in a Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting. That should be the case, but it’s not.Read on to find out how your microphone is sneakily still listening to everything you say. Here’s the backstoryResearchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison discovered that your device’s microphone continues to listen even after hitting the mute switch.While...

Valor. When things were their darkest for the U.S. after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the Doolittle Raiders gave the nation hope. Sixteen B-25s, each with a five-man crew, were lined up on the aircraft carrier USS Hornet. This had never been tried in war—sending heavy bombers off a carrier. Because the Japanese military had learned of the strategy, the planes had to take off from farther out in the Pacific than had been planned. Their mission was to hit Tokyo, but now they would lack enough fuel to reach safety beyond Japan’s borders. They went anyway. They bombed Tokyo,...

For days after the Moskva cruiser sank in the Black Sea, Yulia Tsyvova had been desperately searching for information about her son Andrei. Like hundreds of other Russian families of the crew members, she had not been told whether he had survived the reported Ukrainian missile attack that had sunk the Russian flagship of the Black Sea fleet. Then on Monday morning she received a call from the Russian defence ministry. Her son was dead. “He was only 19, he was a conscript,” said Tsyvova, who wept as she spoke by telephone. “They didn’t tell me anything else, no information...

We all get that political strategists like to cheerlead for their party. Some might even say that it’s their job. I, however, think that a good strategist is willing to see and speak the truth. If their party is failing, they aren’t doing anyone any favors by pretending things are going well. Which brings me to Democratic strategist Donna Brazile, who appeared on ABC’s This Week on Sunday and gave the most laughable assessment of the upcoming midterms I’ve seen. According to Brazile, the GOP is “essentially running on fumes” from allegations of voter fraud in 2020, while Democrats “are...

Photos from this weekend's Revolve Festival show smiling influencers in trendy outfits, posing in front of picture-perfect scenes — but according to some who had invites, the experience wasn't quite as glamorous as images indicate. Several attendees at the event, which played host to several celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Halsey, and Kendall Jenner, have complained of 'poor transportation' and 'bad management,' saying that they were stranded in a parking lot for hours waiting for shuttles that didn't come. Antsy ticket-holders were left hot and dizzy with no water, leading to several allegedly passing out. Some complained of 'pushing, shoving, and...
