Mark Forton, ousted Monday night as the Macomb County Republican Party chairman, vows vowed to go after opponents aggressively. "I don't have to protect any RINO Republicans," he tells The Detroit News. GOP delegates voted 158-123 to unseat Forton because of a "lack of confidence." He tells The News he plans to launch a recall campaign against Republican Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini if he doesn't allow Mellissa Carone on the ballot as a state House candidate. Carone gained notoriety in 2020 when she testified with Rudy Giuliani at a Lansing hearing on the election. Forlini recently disqualified Carone from...

Mark Wahlberg’s new film Father Stu is one of the most theologically interesting films to come out in a long time. It considers some of the thorniest and most puzzling themes in the sacred science, including the nature of vocation, the purpose of suffering in the divine plan, the role of supernatural agency, the dynamics of redemption, and perhaps most thoroughly, the mystery of God’s providence. In the course of this article, I would like to say just a few simple things about the first and last of those motifs. Let’s take providence first. I have argued for years that...

I am flabbergasted by how big of a disaster the US economy is under Biden’s leadership. I am talking about the middle class and lower-income households that are suffering due to 40-year high inflation rates reducing their REAL wages. US real average weekly earnings growth YoY is down to -3.60%. That is the lowest since 2007 and is worse than The Great Recession and financial crisis of 2008. And look at this chart of mortgage payments under Biden. The US was actually experiencing DECLINING mortgage payments YoY in 2019 and 2020. But under Biden’s leadership, mortgage payments have increased by...

More than a dozen Los Angeles gangs are targeting some of the city's wealthiest residents in a new and aggressive manner, sending out crews in multiple cars to find, follow and rob people driving high-end vehicles or wearing expensive jewelry, according to police. In many cases, they're making off with designer handbags, diamond-studded watches and other items worth tens of thousands of dollars — if not more — and then peddling them to black-market buyers who are willing to turn a blind eye to the underlying violence, police said. In some cases, suspects have been arrested but then released from...

The gun used by the monster who opened fire on a crowded Brooklyn subway Tuesday jammed in the midst of the bloodshed — preventing him from causing more carnage, law enforcement sources told The Post. Investigators recovered the jammed Glock and two extended magazines at the scene of the shooting, which happened aboard a Manhattan-bound N train just as it was pulling into the 36th Street station in Sunset Park just after 8:20 a.m. “It was lucky that it jammed because we could be talking about a lot more people in hospitals or worse,” a law enforcement source said. “Dozens...

No Conspiracy TheoryParents are right to worry about sexual abuse of students by school officials. In the wake of the controversy surrounding Florida’s Parental Rights in Education legislation, which prohibits public schools from teaching gender identity and sexual orientation in kindergarten through third grade, the national media has sought to paint conservative opposition as hysterical, anti-LGBTQ, and conspiracy-minded. The New York Times, for example, accused conservatives of having a “freakout” about imaginary “grooming” in public schools, and the Washington Post dismissed concerns about sexual abuse by teachers as a “QAnon conspiracy.”But whatever the editorialists at the Times and the Post might...

"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin declared her love for mask mandates Tuesday as she denounced the scheduled lifting of the federal requirement for travelers to wear masks on airplanes, trains and in transit hubs later this month. "I want the masks!" Hostin exclaimed during a segment focused on the state of the coronavirus pandemic, complaining that she didn't want the mandate to end because she didn't want to be on an airplane with other people breathing on her "with their COVID breath." Co-host Joy Behar began the segment by noting that the city of Philadelphia had reinstated its indoor mask...

West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin is blasting the Biden administration for responding to record-high inflation with 'half-measures and rhetorical failures' after the Labor Department revealed Tuesday that the average price of consumer goods hit a 41-year high. He said Americans deserved to know 'the truth' of what fueled a staggering 8.5 percent inflation rate in March from the year prior -- a price hike he likened to a new 'tax.' 'Let me be clear, inflation is a tax and today’s historic inflation data tells another chilling story about how these taxes on Americans are completely out of control,' 'Hard...

Roy P. Disney, grandnephew of Walt Disney, revealed that his child is transgender in a fundraising email for the Human Rights Campaign. “My wife, Sheri, and I have been members of HRC for over 20 years,” he reportedly wrote. “Equality matters deeply to us, especially because our child, Charlee, is transgender and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community.” “We were heartbroken when Ron DeSantis signed the ‘Don’t Say Gay or Trans’ law in Florida,” Disney continued in the email. “The fight isn’t over, and we are determined to do everything we can to stop this from happening in other...

Jared Kushner secured a $2 billion investment in his private equity firm from Saudi Arabia's state-owned sovereign wealth fund just six months after the end of the Trump administration, a new report claimed on Sunday. Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law and former White House senior adviser, secured the massive deal despite being flagged for its 'inexperience' and 'public relations risks' by a panel of economics experts who screen the wealth fund's investments, the New York Times reports. During his time in the White House, Kushner was known for his close personal relationship with Saudi Arabia's de facto leader Mohammed bin-Salman and...

Women who say they survived sexual abuse within a group of conservative Baptist churches are using an unusual legal method to try and hold their alleged abuser accountable — the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. The federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) law was passed in 1970 as a way to prosecute mobs as whole entities rather than try mob-related activities individually. RICO has most notably been used to prosecute criminal enterprises such as the mafia, gangs and corrupt police departments and politicians. On Wednesday, attorneys argued before a U.S. District Appeals Court that RICO should be applied...

Gonorrhea and syphilis cases reached record levels during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to data released Tuesday from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. The latest figures — part of an ongoing upward trend — follow Congress’ decision last month to provide far less funding to sexual health clinics that provide free and subsidized testing for sexually transmitted diseases, education, contraception and other services than providers say is needed to reverse the current course Gonorrhea cases increased 10 percent in 2020, and syphilis infections were up 7 percent. Congenital syphilis, which had all but disappeared in...

We published tonight a serious indictment was filed against a Palestinian from Samaria who seduced a young woman to come to the village to repair her vehicle, took the keys from her, brought her home and committed serious sexual offenses, rape, sodomy and more. He later threatened to distribute security camera footage, if she complains to the police. She was later taken back to the crossing and told the security forces there about what had happened. Addition: This is a village near Qalqilya.

Russian president Vladimir Putin met on Tuesday with Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko. Lukashenko, who spoke with Putin in the eastern Russian city of Blagoveshchensk, said he believes Belarus’ branding as “an accomplice of the aggressor” is unfair. Minsk, which is providing logistical support to the Russian military and served as a key staging point for Russian forces in the opening stages of the invasion of Ukraine, has fallen under many of the same Western sanctions as Moscow since the start of the war on February 24. Lukashenko characterized the war as a “dangerous moment,” explicitly blaming Britain and the United...

While many are frightened of great white sharks, a majority of people believe they have control over whether they encounter the apex predators along Cape Cod. Tourists especially are taking actions to avoid shark encounters, but only a few Cape visitors have cut back on their beach trips because of sharks since a person was killed by a great white in Wellfleet four years ago. That’s according to a new survey released Monday about humans coexisting with sharks and seals along the Cape. Representative samples of Cape visitors, residents and commercial fishers — about 2,000 people in total — responded...

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Former President Donald Trump slammed Pennsylvania GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill McSwain on Tuesday, complaining the former federal prosecutor did “absolutely nothing” to investigate Trump’s false claims of widespread election fraud after Democrat Joe Biden won the state in 2020. McSwain, who spent nearly three years as the top federal prosecutor in Philadelphia under Trump, had been seeking Trump’s endorsement, calling the presidential election in Pennsylvania a “partisan disgrace” as he sought to curry favor with the former president. McSwain has often touted his connection to Trump as he campaigns for the GOP nod in a crowded...

Nearly two years after Seattle led the way in defunding the police, the Washington city’s force is so understaffed it did not assign a detective to investigate a single case of a sex assault on an adult last month, according to a report. The depleted department now only has four detectives in the squad handling sex assaults, nearly all dedicated to child abuse cases, local NPR station KUOW revealed.
