Trump calls GOP governor candidate McSwain a coward, will not endorse

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Former President Donald Trump slammed Pennsylvania GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill McSwain on Tuesday, complaining the former federal prosecutor did “absolutely nothing” to investigate Trump’s false claims of widespread election fraud after Democrat Joe Biden won the state in 2020.

McSwain, who spent nearly three years as the top federal prosecutor in Philadelphia under Trump, had been seeking Trump’s endorsement, calling the presidential election in Pennsylvania a “partisan disgrace” as he sought to curry favor with the former president. McSwain has often touted his connection to Trump as he campaigns for the GOP nod in a crowded primary field.

Instead, Trump turned on him.

“One person in Pennsylvania who I will not be endorsing is Bill McSwain for Governor. He was the U.S. Attorney who did absolutely nothing on the massive Election Fraud that took place in Philadelphia and throughout the commonwealth,” Trump said in a statement. “Do not vote for Bill McSwain, a coward, who let our Country down. He knew what was happening and let it go.”

McSwain served as Trump’s-appointed U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from April 6, 2018, to January 22, 2021.

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America

04/12/22

One person in Pennsylvania who I will not be endorsing is Bill McSwain for Governor. He was the U.S. Attorney who did absolutely nothing on the massive Election Fraud that took place in Philadelphia and throughout the commonwealth. He said Barr told him not to do anything (because Barr was afraid of being impeached by the Democrats), but he should have done his job anyway. Without free and fair Elections, we don’t have a Country. Do not vote for Bill McSwain, a coward, who let our Country down. He knew what was happening and let it go. It was there for the taking and he failed so badly. Many of the U.S. Attorneys were probably told not to do anything by Barr. Hence, our Country is going to hell.

True the Vote’s findings are determinative and Bill McSwain should be ashamed of himself, as should many Republican leaders who didn’t act. They said Philadelphia and Detroit were two of the most corrupt places in the Country, with Georgia being one of the most corrupt states!

And it’s not the first time for Philly, either. Who has the picture of those thugs outside the polling place, turning away Whitey?

So all talk but did absolutely nothing. I wonder if he tried but got shutdown by his boss, Barr.

Wow, in light of all that's been revealed in the past year you wonder how long they are going to stick with this shibboleth.

McSwain’s excuse is that Barr ordered him to stand down and as a former jar head, he couldn’t break the chain of command to go over his head, apparently even after Barr resigned. Trump got this part right. McSwain failed his constitutional obligation to ensure a “Republican form of government”. The “chain of command” doesn’t trump that obligation, and plainly he failed to serve his president faithfully also.

Typical liberal logic. Since we refused to investigate it couldn't have happened.

Yep. And it was the AP then and now.

1. Honestly, the US Attorneys across the country have not wanted to pursue cases. For example, in Philadelphia, I’m aware of a case of alleged fraud brought to the USA’s office there and the individuals couldn’t even get through the door.— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) December 1, 2020

2. I regret to say is misleading for AG Barr to issue his declaration to the AP as he did since the DOJ has been very passive.https://t.co/Bs1rhEgAQe— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) December 1, 2020

Did you ever hear the enemedia even once report about or accordingly label the false impeachment for Russia collusion? Even thought it was thoroughly investigated and debunked?

Right. You never hear about the now known FBI plot to spy on a Presidential campaign and President.
