Vanesa Rincón said she has barely slept since Feb. 24, when the thunderous sound and vibrations of the shock waves from the bombs tore her from sleep. Dark circles crown her dark eyes as she talks about the terror she experiences daily in Belgorod, a Russian city bordering Ukraine, where she studies international law. “One wants to get away from the war and the bombs,” the Colombian student said. “We're so anguished that I never want to hear that noise again. I want to return to Bogotá as soon as I can.” Rincón said that during the first week of...

Maine Sen. ANAHEIM, Calif. - Parkgoers heading over to Disneyland Resort in California may notice something slightly different during their next visit. In a video conference call recorded by City Journal's Christopher Rufo, Disney's diversity and inclusion manager Vivian Ware was heard explaining that parkgoers will no longer hear "ladies and gentlemen" or "boys and girls" in the park's greetings.

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) - The U.S. economy grew robustly in the fourth quarter, the government confirmed on Wednesday, but momentum has slowed significantly amid a surge in COVID-19 infections at the start of the year, snarled supply chains and soaring inflation. Gross domestic product increased at a 6.9% annualized rate, the Commerce Department said in its third estimate of fourth-quarter GDP growth. That was revised slightly down from the 7.0% pace estimated in February. The economy grew at a 2.3% rate in the third quarter. Growth is 3.1% above its pre-pandemic level. Economists polled by Reuters had expected GDP growth would...

ATHENS — The considerable fanfare surrounding a fresh round of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine at Istanbul yesterday risks fizzling fast — and if you are among the thousands still trapped in the besieged Ukrainian city (at least for the moment) of Mariupol, it probably already has. That is because the real power broker in this mess, Vladimir Putin, has shot down an incipient humanitarian aid mission to the city that forces under his command have largely destroyed. The idea for said mission started with a Greek proposal, to which France glommed on and Turkey too, but Mr. Putin...

The reason I am writing this is to remind you that the battle you are facing is not yours but God’s. If you are a child of his, you can be certain that Satan will “rage against you.” In 2 Chronicles, a great multitude came against God’s people. King Jehoshaphat and his people set their hearts to fast and seek the Lord. The king cried out to God a prayer that most of us have prayed at times in our spiritual journey. “For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know...

“‘Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill’” (Matthew 5:17). The moral law was God’s foundational code. Jesus fulfilled that law by His perfect righteousness. He obeyed every commandment, met every requirement, and lived up to every standard. But most important, Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament by being its fulfillment. He did not simply teach it fully and exemplify it fully—He was it fully. He did not come simply to teach righteousness and to model righteousness; He came as divine righteousness. What He said and what...
