[Catholic Caucus] Pope Francis courting catastrophe by fudging wording on Fatima consecrationThe pontiff indicated that he will consecrate 'humanity' and not just Russia. Mon Mar 21, 2022 - 7:12 pm EDT (LifeSiteNews) — The requests of Our Lady of Fatima for the consecration of Russia were very specific. In at least eight attempts over the last nearly 100 years, Popes have failed to do it as she explicitly requested. And for that very reason, the promised full conversion of Russia and world peace were not granted to the world. The best opportunity for the consecration of Russia has presented itself now,...

On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman and Senate Majority Whip Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) stated that criticisms of Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s record on crime from some Republicans are because Republicans accuse “every” Biden judicial nominee of being soft on crime to push the issue for the 2022 elections and because “there are some of them that are still struggling to accept” an African American female public defender would be “a good asset to the Supreme Court.”

Alabama officials reversed a decision to revoke a license plate belonging to Nathan Kirk, referring to the slogan criticizing President Joe Biden — “Let’s go, Brandon” — according to The Washington Post. The state previously demanded that Kirk surrender his license plate within 10 days in a Feb. 17 letter that called the plate an affront to the “peace and dignity of the State of Alabama,” according to the Post. “The Alabama Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division, has determined the above referenced license plate contains objectionable language which is considered by the Department to be offensive to the peace...

Why the world faces a serious paradigm crisis ... In his "The Lexus and the Olive Tree," published in 1999, American columnist Thomas Friedman propounded his "Golden Arches Theory," which holds that "no two countries that both had McDonald's had fought a war against each other since each got its McDonald's." This theory claims there can no longer be a big war because the former Soviet Union and East European countries have become democracies and market economies, creating a globalized and integrated world economy with people, goods and money moving around freely. This view was also reflected in the policy...

Toby Anderson, an Iraq War veteran and health care businessman, announced today that he will run as a Republican in New Jersey’s 11th congressional district, currently held by Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair). “New Jersey deserves representation that cares more about the needs of our families, and less about rigid partisan loyalty – we’re not getting that from Mikie Sherrill,” Anderson said in a statement. We need economic policies to control out-of-control inflation, immigration policies that secure our border and keep us safe, and education policies that empower parents ahead of government. I’m proud to have fought overseas for freedom, and...

An out-of-touch academic, writing a column for Bloomberg Opinion, demonstrated just how out of touch the country's elites are as inflation hits every sector of the country. Instead of hiding the mess, or better yet, just not printing it, Bloomberg Opinion tweeted its existence out with a handy tip sheet: (tweets at link) Inflation stings most if you earn less than $300K. Here's how to deal: ➡️ Take the bus ➡️ Don’t buy in bulk ➡️ Try lentils instead of meat ➡️ Nobody said this would be fun Which was about as amateur-hour as it gets on the age-old topic...

I was a scared and confused twelve-year-old when the idea of sending me off to a school for girls was whispered about. A family member tried to convince my parent that this would be the best place for me after an agonizing season in my life. My decade-long abuser had just been put in prison. Sending me away would help silence all the gossip surrounding our family in our small faith community and remove the small spotlight shining negatively on our church. I can’t help but wonder now if sending me away would also have been a way to punish...

It's bad all over for the man who's "been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades." as former CIA director Bob Gates famously put it in his memoirs. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia wouldn't take his phone calls. The European states are stepping forward as the chief problem solvers to the Ukraine dilemma. Venezuela apparently laughed in his face when he asked them to pump more oil. El Salvador's president tweeted about America as a nation in decline, rotting from within. How many Ukrainian refugees has China accepted? And...

In related news, Holcomb also vetoed House Bill 1041 on Monday which would have banned transgender female high school athletes from playing on the girls’ teams. The bill had previously faced criticism despite passing through both the Indiana House and Senate. “It’s encouraging to see Governor Eric Holcomb tell his party that their culture wars have crossed the line. Signing House Bill 1041 into law would have put the lives of our children in jeopardy. However, this unnecessary debate has set a tone with kids that being transgender means something is wrong with them. It must be said that nothing...

Republicans are growing increasingly bold in their support for a handful of candidates snubbed by former President Trump in hotly contested GOP primaries. While Trump remains the most coveted endorser among Republicans, his picks in some races have stirred concern and frustration within some corners of the GOP, with some Republicans questioning whether the former president is picking the strongest candidates in potentially competitive races. It’s a trend that’s not limited to Trump’s Republican critics. His former ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, recently headlined a fundraiser for Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), who is facing a Trump-backed primary challenge...
