In what appeared to be an off-script opening to her speech, the vice president said: 'The Governor and I and we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right?' 'The significance of the passage of time,' she repeated. 'So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires, what we need to do to create these jobs,' Harris continued. She went on: 'And there is such great significance to the passage...

China’s financial hub Shanghai reported a record surge in daily local Covid-19 infections on Monday amid the country’s determined efforts to contain growing outbreaks despite the “mild symptoms” reported. Shanghai reported 24 new domestically-transmitted Covid-19 cases with confirmed symptoms on Monday and a further 734 local asymptomatic infections, which Wu Jinglei, director of Shanghai Health Commission, attributed to rounds of mass screening in the city last week. “Shanghai is standing the test of a severe epidemic,” Wu said, referring to the mass testing carried out from last Wednesday to Sunday. In response to the health crisis, the Shanghai Disney Resort...

The GOP establishment in the 11th Congressional District of New Jersey is backing Tayfun Selen for Congress in this year’s midterm elections. Selen, a Turkish immigrant turned serial candidate, has previously bad-mouthed both President Trump and the American people to foreign media. Most recently, he won the Morris County GOP’s endorsement in a process marred by controversy and allegations of fraud. America First conservatives have coalesced around outsider candidate and Iraq War veteran Toby Anderson, who they hope will win the nomination over Selen and, as they put it, stop the 11th District from sending another Liz Cheney or Adam...

President Joe Biden on Monday issued a warning that the Russian government is preparing widespread cyberattacks against the United States. Biden said Russian President Vladimir Putin would be responding to the Administration’s crippling sanctions amid Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. “I have previously warned about the potential that Russia could conduct malicious cyber activity against the United States,” Pres. Biden said in a statement, “including as a response to the unprecedented economic costs we’ve imposed on Russia alongside our allies and partners. It’s part of Russia’s playbook. Today, my Administration is reiterating those warnings based on evolving intelligence that the Russian...

Working in exile, Alexey Navalny’s team of anti-corruption activists have released a new investigation linking a $700-million superyacht to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The luxury vessel, officially registered to an offshore company in the Marshall Islands, is allegedly crewed by members of Russia’s Secret Service (the FSO). The Scheherazade is one of only 14 yachts in the world that are at least 140 meters (459 feet) long — and according to The New York Times, it’s the only superyacht of its kind whose owner isn’t publicly unknown. On paper, the ship belongs to an offshore company from the Marshall Islands......

Explanation: What if you could see the entire sky -- all at once -- for an entire year? That, very nearly, is what is pictured here. Every 15 minutes during 2021, an all-sky camera took an image of the sky over the Netherlands. Central columns from these images were then aligned and combined to create the featured keogram, with January at the top, December at the bottom, and the middle of the night running vertically just left of center. What do we see? Most obviously, the daytime sky is mostly blue, while the nighttime sky is mostly black. The twelve...

A question for fellow conservatives: What exactly do we stand for? The left’s recent wave of culture war victories seems to have not only discouraged our commentators from talking about homosexuality, but also softened their conviction that it’s a grave offense against God and nature. Progressives know that a neighbor’s “gay marriage,” Hollywood portrayals of same-sex romance, and adoption celebrations for same-sex couples, do in fact impact conservatives and society writ large. Their activism emphasizes the social sphere because, like conservatives, they’re realistic about the impact of social signals and role models in communities. That’s why it matters when movement...

Democrat Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL), who is vying to challenge Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in this year’s midterm election, has accused the governor, who has focused on championing personal freedom and parental rights, of “MAGA trolling.” “We need to make an example out of Ron DeSantis,” Crist said. “If you put MAGA trolling over the interests of your constituents, you will lose.”

Despite its status as one of the wokest companies in the world, including maintaining an official program to inject critical race theory into the field of programming, tech giant Google is facing a major lawsuit alleging it discriminates against black employees. Even among the far-left tech giants of Silicon Valley, Google has a reputation for wokeness. The company invited Robin DiAngelo to give a talk on “white fragility” years before her presence became commonplace in corporate boardrooms. Its managers gave employees instruction manuals on recognizing “white dominant culture.” It maintains an entire program dedicated to “machine learning fairness,” the new...

video of Russian trucks running on flat tires. https://twitter.com/TrentTelenko/status/1505370317228843008Telenko concludes that the lack of professional maintenance and wear, unprofessional use by undertrained troops and soldier exhaustion has already and will continue to cause high levels of “operational attrition” in their truck fleets. The “details” that are being ignored will lead to massive issues. He predicts in six to eight weeks, the entire Russian Army military truck fleet will be “deadlined.” “Between the end of April and Mid-May 2022, the Ukrainian Army will be able to counter-attack EVERYWHERE. Because there will be NOWHERE more than 20 miles/30 km inside Ukraine where...

THIRD WEEK OF LENT LUKE 4:24-30 Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus’ hometown rejects him as a prophet. And I want to say a word about your role as a prophet. When most lay people hear about prophecy, they sit back and their eyes glaze over. "That’s something for the priests and the bishops to worry about; they’re the modern-day prophets. I don’t have that call or that responsibility." Well, think again! Vatican II emphasized the universal call to holiness, rooted in the dynamics of baptism. Every baptized person is conformed unto Christ—priest, prophet, and king. Whenever you assist at Mass,...

The future of a major liquified natural gas facility proposed for northeastern Pennsylvania was thrown into question Monday after its developer settled a legal challenge brought by environmental activists. A subsidiary of New Fortress Energy Inc. agreed to pull the plug on its proposed LNG plant in Wyalusing — at least for now — in an agreement with a coalition of environmental groups that filed suit seeking to overturn the company’s air emissions permit. The $800 million plant was intended to liquify million of gallons of natural gas from the Marcellus Shale gas field per day, with the liquified gas...

On the morning of 11 September 2001, Klaus Schwab sat having breakfast in the Park East Synagogue in New York City with Rabbi Arthur Schneier, former Vice President for the World Jewish Congress and close associate of the Bronfman and Lauder families. Together, the two men watched one of the most impactful events of the next twenty years unfold as planes struck the World Trade Center buildings. Now, two decades on, Klaus Schwab again sits in a front row seat of yet another generation-defining moment in modern human history. Always seeming to have a front row seat when tragedy approaches,...

The North American agricultural sector could be in for a major shock if Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd’s (CP Rail) work stoppage is not resolved in a timely manner because it could spark a shortage of fertilizer and other shipments critical for the spring growing season, according to AP News. AP News reports more than 3,000 CP Rail conductors, engineers, train, and yard workers represented by the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference stepped off the job Sunday as the union and CP Rail couldn’t strike a deal. CP Rail is the leading carrier of potash, a potassium-rich salt mined from underground deposits...

Harris repeated the phrase "the passage of time" at least four times within the span of a minute, seeming unable to move the conversation forward during remarks she made in Sunset, Louisiana, on Monday. "We were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time right. The significance of the passage of time, so when you think about it there is great significance to passage of time," Harris said. "There is such great significance to the passage of time when you think of a day in the life of our children....
