Qin Gang also said 'conflict between Russia and Ukraine does no good for China' in an op-ed in the Washington Post on Tuesday where he sought to clarify Beijing's position on Putin's war. Gang said China would have tried to prevent 'the imminent crisis' had it known of the Kremlin's plans beforehand and warned that 'the purposes and principles of the U.N. Charter must be fully observed'.

The Biden administration is considering providing Ukraine with U.S.-made killer drones — cutting-edge guided missiles that could accurately target Russian tanks and artillery positions from miles away — two congressional officials briefed on the matter told NBC News. Rating company Fitch said it would declare the Russian state in default if it pays holders of dollar-denominated bonds in rubles. The Russian sovereign has $117 million in interest payments due today for two dollar-denominated government bonds—one maturing in 2023 and one in 2043.
