Senate Homeland Security Committee Chair Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has sent letters to the heads of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to testify before his committee amid growing public controversy over immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis and other communities.
Paul informed the leaders of President Trump’s immigration agencies in a tersely worded letter that “Congress has an obligation to conduct oversight” of what he called the “exceptional amount of funding” the Republican Congress has allocated to secure the borders and enforce immigration laws.
“Congress has an obligation to conduct oversight of those tax dollars and ensure the funding is used to accomplish the mission, provide proper support for our law enforcement, and, most importantly, protect the American people,” he wrote.
He is asking them to testify at an open hearing scheduled for Feb. 12 and wants to get responses from the senior administration officials by Wednesday.
Paul sent the letters to CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott, ICE acting Director Todd Lyons, and USCIS Director Joseph Edlow.
The conservative Kentucky senator marveled at the decision by congressional appropriators to spend another $10 billion on ICE operations in fiscal 2026, even though the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which Trump signed into law in July, has already allocated $76 billion for ICE over the next four years.

“Senate Homeland Security Committee Chair Rand Paul (RINO-Ky.)”
No governor, no mayor? Police chief?
Eff Rand Paul.
Well...at least we know who's writing Rand's checks.
Where’s his “letter” to Tampon Tim and all his confederates in corruption and inciting riot?
Border protection and immigration enforcement is one of the FEW constitutional functions of the federal government, and yet, these idiots, including Paul, seem blissfully unaware of this.
A full HALF of all federal funding should go to Border enforcement.
Never really cared about illegals
Play right into the Dem narrative, Rand. He should be investigating everyone who funded the paid rioters and their shadow network that is creating a Brownshirt organization to harass and intimidate ordinary people. And which deliberately provokes confrontations with the ICE in hopes of getting shot.
Homan needs to tell this aho Paul, if he wants them to meet with him, he needs to show up at one of Antifa’s “peace flaming riots” in Minniedishu. ICE will bring the whistles, trombones and Tampons.
Yeah. Don’t investigate the arsonists. Investigate the firefighters for improper hose technique.
+1.....I despise that little weasel.
The day that backstabbing MFer isn’t in the senate anymore I plan on getting drunk for joy.
F Paul, the rats would turn this into circus and a witch trial
GFY, Grandstand Rand!
And why isn’t he calling for an investigation of the Democrat party leadership directly controlling these paramilitary protests and deliberately obstructing federal law enforcement? Can the senate subpoena Walz and Frey to investigate THEM?
Or are we just running the Democrat playbook as part of the CCP
How’s bout they just mail Paul copies or their oath of office and their job description!?
Paul is for Drug Boats bring drugs to America.
He has now joined the side of insurectionist.
He is a little angry hack.
Exactly.
Libertarian gonna Liberaltarian
Sorry Rand, currently, we are engaged in a violent struggle with communists aiding and abetting illegal aliens, aliens who have , for years robbed the American public blind. Perhaps when things have become less hysterical, we will talk to you- hero of the American taxpayer … for now we are too busy.
Sincerely, ICE
What a fag!
