In the superheated market for batteries, promising lab developments often get overhyped by startups. ‘Liar, liar, battery supplier.’ Given what’s at sake, it’s easy to chalk up exaggerated claims about new battery breakthroughs to the tech industry’s propensity for hyperbole and grandstanding. A typical example: Researchers invent a tweak to a type of battery that has long shown promise but has never come close to commercialization. That gets spun into claims that an electric car with a 2,000-mile range is within reach. “People like a breakthrough, but when we write papers we try to avoid using these kinds of words,”...

Canada has closed its airspace to Russian aircraft, effective immediately. Transport Minister Omar Alghabra made the announcement on Sunday, saying Canada's airspace will be closed to all Russian aircraft operators. "We will hold Russia accountable for its unprovoked attacks against Ukraine," he said in a tweet. Canada's move comes as other European nations banned Russian planes from entering their own airspaces, including Germany, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Luxembourg, over the invasion of Ukraine. Russia has since closed its airspace to many of those same countries, as fighting between its forces and...

Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time Luke 6:39-45 Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus commands us to stop judging others. He asks, “Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?” We are exceptionally good at seeing the fault in others, but we are exceptionally adept at ignoring it in ourselves. There was a very popular book that came out when I was a teenager. It was called I’m Okay and You’re Okay. It represented the culture of exculpation and feeling-good-about-yourself. Not many years ago, Christina Aguilera crooned, “I am beautiful...

Sen Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Sunday slammed a pair of House Republicans after they attended a conference hosted by a prominent white nationalist over the weekend. "Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar, I don’t know them," Romney said during an appearance on CNN. "I’m reminded of the old line from the 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' movie, where one character says, 'Morons, I have morons on my team.'"

"A major war in Europe may very well erupt; that's how they start, exactly what's happening today – this is how they start," Trump told the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday in Orlando, Florida. " "The Russian attack on Ukraine is appalling; it's an outrage and an atrocity that should never have been allowed to occur, it never would have occurred. "I stand as the only president of the 21st century on whose watch Russia did not invade another country. "I gave Ukraine the Javelins that everyone is now talking about and millions of dollars of other military equipment—the...

Ukraine said on Sunday Russian President Vladimir Putin's order to put Russian nuclear forces on high alert was calculated to put pressure at the start of talks but that Kyiv would not be cowed. Speaking at a briefing, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also said Russia had dropped its preconditions for talks after suffering military setbacks. Ukraine would listen to what Russia had to say, he said. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday Russia had agreed to talks at a venue on the Belarusian border near the Pripyat River, the first since Russia invaded its neighbour last week.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that calls for the United States to increase fossil fuel production and open up the Keystone Pipeline in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was a “misdiagnosis.” Anchor George Stephanopoulos said, “Senator Tom Cotton says the United States should be doing more to crack down on the Russian energy sector.”

CANADA SHOWED US WHAT’S COMING * Vaccine passports will lead to digital identity devices and cards, merged with present state ID cards and driver's licenses. The digital ID will track our every move and force us to always be mindful of what "The State" mandates us to obey, Recently for example, social distancing, wearing masks, but these are mild compared to what will roll out when the Beijing model takes hold. * It was well-known in the Soviet Union that if you did not "comply" with State Mandates, you could be forced to be examined by a State Psychiatrist and...

62% of Americans believe that Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if Donald Trump was President. The view was held by an overwhelming 85% of Republicans, but also 38% of Democrats. A further 59% of voters said Putin had decided to invade because Putin sensed weakness on the part of President Biden, while just 41% said that view had not played a role in Putin’s decision. Count me among them. Joe Biden had done nothing but weaken the United States. He botched Afghanistan in one massive clusterf**k. Now he's botched Ukraine. Biden gave China intelligence on Russia vis-a-vis Ukraine and...

Deleted!” “I never said that! Deleted!” “Fake tan? More like fake news! Deleted!” Exclamations such as these reverberated through the spacious Florida mansion of the nation’s favorite president throughout the night, putting all residents on edge. Melania, affected by Trump’s all-nighter, was overheard screaming to...

If the current ammunition shortage was not bad enough, prices may continue to rise after a recent move by the Biden administration. According to a State Department news release from Aug. 20, a new round of sanctions is being imposed on Russia due to its utilization of a deadly "Novichok" chemical nerve agent. This nerve agent was used in the poisoning of Aleksey Navalny, a Russian opposition figure, in August 2020. MOSCOW, Feb 27 (Reuters) - A Ukrainian company in charge of building and maintaining roads said it was removing all road signs that could be used by invading Russian forces to find their way around the country. "The enemy has poor communications, they cannot navigate the terrain," the company Ukravtodor said in a Facebook update late on Friday. "Let us help them get straight to hell." It posted an edited photo of a standard road sign in which directions to nearby cities have been replaced with profanities that could be translated as "Go f*ck yourself", "Go f*ck yourself again" and...
