Jean-Luc Brunel, 74, was found hanged in his cell at La Sante where he had been remanded in custody since December 2020, awaiting trial on sexual assault and rape. Brunel, who ran Karin Models in Paris, and later formed MC2 Model Management with Epstein, went into hiding after Epstein’s...

This is the 29th post in a series going all the way back to July 2013. For newer readers, what I refer to as “The Greatest Scientific Fraud Of All Time” is the systematic alteration of world temperature history records to create and/or augment a warming trend, and thereby support a political narrative that the world’s energy economy needs to be completely transformed by government command in order to avoid catastrophic human-caused climate change. A U.S. government agency called the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI, in turn a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which is...

Here Come the High Gas Prices: Rising Oil Prices Were the Natural Result of Biden’s War On Oil: Dan Eberhart, the CEO of drilling services firm Canary, recently suggested that the price of crude oil will likely reach more than $100 a barrel before the summer as the possibility of a Russian invasion of Ukraine increases by the day. Oil prices have been rising steadily throughout the first year of the Biden administration, however, policies implemented by the president and his party in Congress have contributed to this dramatic rise.

Are you in an abusive relationship with your government? Sometimes it's hard to figure out what to do when the federal government breaks the law. You know how it is. You've been in a steady relationship with a government agency for years now. You knew that it was involved in some pretty shady depravities of moonshine and tobacco. However, it had its semi-positive side in that you were forced to go through it to exercise a commonsense civil right. The bureaucracy had created the venerable 4473 form that you loved to fill out (not really, but work with us here)...

Carnival Cruise Line plans to make masks optional for its guests from March 1 after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) eased its warnings for cruise ships, the company said in a statement late on Friday. The company said masks would be recommended but not required.

In Kentucky, a Black Lives Matter bail fund has paid to release violent rapists, murderers, and even a would-be political assassin. Now, Republicans in the state are moving to rein in the practice. Kentucky legislators Jason Nemes and John Blanton are behind the effort. The Republicans are pushing two bills that would forbid bail funds from paying to release certain arrestees and allow judges to deny bail for particularly heinous criminals. The move comes just days after a Louisville bail fund paid $100,000 to free Quintez Brown, a prominent liberal activist who is charged with attempting to murder Jewish Democratic...

Too many cops are choosing the side that uses and abuses them. believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. James Madison Without a doubt, being a police officer is one of the most difficult and dangerous job on the planet. One has to admire those who take on the job. The American left has made its contempt of our police abundantly clear for several years now. Encouraging the BLM riots, excusing the damage done, decreeing no punishment for those...

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued sweeping new guidance yesterday for natural gas projects, including a first-ever climate change threshold, upending decades of precedent for how major energy infrastructure is approved. FERC updated a 23-year-old policy for assessing proposed natural gas pipelines, adding new considerations for landowners, environmental justice communities and other factors. In a separate but related decision, the commission also laid out a framework for evaluating projects’ greenhouse gas emissions. The commission’s three Democratic members approved both policies, while the two Republicans on the panel opposed them.

Black History Month is a time to reflect on the great achievements of African-Americans and black Africans, while also confronting the sordid history of racism. Thankfully, racism has declined considerably over the past decades. However, we still need to combat vestiges of racism in our society, so that we can properly love our neighbor, regardless of their race or ethnicity.Indeed, scholars today are cranking out multitudes of books about racism. Three prominent examples from 2021—published by academic presses—are Anthea Butler, White Evangelical Racism, Randall Balmer, Bad Faith: Race and the Rise of the Religious Right, and J. Russell Hawkins, The...

Loudoun County has been in the news a great deal lately because of its leftist policies and the beginnings of a parental revolt. The school board’s leftist proclivities are to be expected, though, given that Biden got almost 61.5% of the votes in November 2020, compared to Trump’s 36.5%. In other words, Loudoun County is a strongly Democrat redoubt. That’s why, although I’m terribly sorry for the 36.5% who aren’t leftist, Loudoun is getting its comeuppance for having put a leftist in the White House: The Biden administration is sending as many as 1,000 Afghan refugees to the county. The...

After all, every one of us does something wrong, over and over again; the only man who could reach perfection would be someone who never said anything wrong – he would be able to control every part of himself. Once we put a bit into the horse’s mouth, to make it do...

Israel must end its evictions of Palestinian families in east Jerusalem, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told US House of Representative Speaker Nancy Pelosi when the two met in Ramallah. Their meeting took place as tensions have flared in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, where at least 28 Palestinian families face eviction. Abbas spoke with Pelosi on Thursday about "finally putting an end to Israel’s expulsion of Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem," according to the Palestine News Agency Wafa. He similar called for Israel to respect the "status quo" on Jerusalem's Temple Mount and for it to put an...

Since freedom is White and White is bad, then freedom is bad. From the inky print of the Washington Post to the digital pages of Teen Vogue, an astonishing movement is underway. Simply put, the argument being made is that, because what we know as “freedom” is a historically White / colonialist / patriarchal (emphasis on the white) construct and White / colonialist / patriarchal concepts are intrinsically evil then the very idea of freedom is bad (again, emphasis on the white). Just as asking a person what 2 plus 2 is and getting the response “harbor” can indicate that...

The hard-left National Archives management is trying to turn Trump into another Hillary but the facts are against them. The National Archives, which is controlled by a hard leftist cadre, very excitedly announced that President Donald Trump took classified information with him when he left the White House. The problem—which the AP reluctantly concedes—is that, as President, he had the final say over what’s classified. That means that there’s no hypocrisy in his reaming Hillary Clinton for her conduct. As a predicate, the National Archives management has turned that government office into a purely leftist entity determined to advance all...

It is usually Republicans who blast the media for what they consider biased or unfair coverage of their policies, but increasingly we are hearing Democrats engaging in the same behavior, apparently frustrated their agenda is not being embraced by some of their fellow Democrats and the public. Last week, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who has yet to stem rising crime as he promised to do, criticized reporters for what he regards as their negative coverage of his administration. To be fair, he was just sworn in on Jan. 1, 2022, but there are few signs that the policies...

All racial stereotypes and links to slavery must be removed from art, history, education, and literature, lest they contaminate others. Are you having any fun? Is cancel culture wiping out comedy because of fear of offending someone.? A BBC poll just reported that virtually half the British population toned down or disguised their opinions to avoid causing offense to someone they’ve just met. Life is full of ifs and buts. Better have a little fun. In so many activities, content that may be seen as potentially offensive, and all racial stereotypes and links to slavery must be removed from art,...
