Sometimes it takes me a while for the impact of events to sink in. I try to tune out the talking heads with their conventional wisdom, and not rush to judgment. I believe that most Americans and I usually try to give most folks the benefit of the doubt. However, it is increasingly clear we can no longer do that. With every issue, with every passing day, there is more news (when the news is honestly reported) that shows us exactly who these people are. They have anointed and installed themselves at the top of our government, from the Oval...

An Airbnb user who never intends to leave. Tenants not paying enough rent to keep up buildings. A roommate temporarily renting a room who later decides not to move out. Under the Legislature’s misleadingly named “Good Cause Eviction” bill, these occupants can all remain in their apartments forever and the property owner has virtually no recourse. “No Eviction Ever” would be a better name for an absurdly vague, sweeping proposal that would place strict new limits on rent increases and evictions for nearly 1.6 million New York renters.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said the Covid-19 Omicron variant had outpaced world vaccine drives in spreading immunity: “Sadly, the virus itself – particularly the variant called Omicron – is a type of vaccine. That is, it creates both B-cell and T-cell immunity, and it’s done a better job of getting out to the world population than we have with vaccines,” he said.

My son Cameron and I can hardly wait for resident Biden’s upcoming State of the Union address. What do you think he’s going to say on March 1, Dad?” he asked me earlier this week during our phone call. “That the State of the Union is …. very sad? Screwed? You finish the sentence.” “Seriously,” Cameron said. “The State of the Union is supposed to be upbeat – positive – or at least hopeful, right?” “Yeah,” I said. “His speechwriters must be working overtime. The list of big things he’s messed up in a single year is long and getting...

"Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch." "Love worketh no ill to his...

Rescuers are racing to salvage a US-bound cargo ship in the Atlantic engulfed in flames with 4,000 cars on board including Bentleys, Audis and Lamborghinis. The operation is taking place off the Azores archipelago where the 'Felicity Ace' cargo ship caught ablaze at sea on Wednesday. Lithium-ion batteries in the electric cars on board have caught fire and the blaze requires specialist equipment to extinguish. Investigators are probing whether the batteries started the onboard inferno. The ship is still ablaze and plumes of white smoke are billowing from the vessel as a Portuguese navy ship works to stop it sinking...

Murdered Uber driver and mother of four begged passenger not to kill her A Pennsylvania Uber driver and mother of four begged a customer to spare her life before he allegedly shot and killed her during a robbery attempt, police said. “I’m begging you, I have four kids,” 38-year-old Christi Spicuzza pleaded, according to dashcam video of the horrific crime, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. Spicuzza, of Turtle Creek, was found dead with a single gunshot wound to the head in a wooded area on February 12 in Monroeville, according to the Allegheny County Police Department. She had picked up 22-year-old...

Like most liberal poster boys, Justin Trudeau’s claim to fame wasn’t based on his record or his talents, it was instead based on a famous father, virtue signaling and being a subscriber of the groupthink. From climate change conferences to marches for abortion rights, LGBT rights, and even BLM, Trudeau was always an eager participant, playing the part of a ‘nice guy’ before slobbering media personnel and cameras. But real nice guys don’t feel any need to make a spectacle of their niceties. For them, the act of kindness itself is the reward. When an individual such as Trudeau dedicates...

Ecclesiasticus 34:22 reads, "He who takes away his neighbor's living slays him; and he who defrauds the laborer of his hire is a bloodshedder." Biden's cavalier attitude toward the loss of American jobs must be judged according to the biblical standard. The elimination of hundreds of thousands of jobs is a serious matter, and its effects are indeed bloody. Deprived of their jobs and their self-respect, workers are without support and purpose, and it's likely that many will come to harm. The most recent weekly jobless claims were higher than expected, and consumer confidence fell 11.3% to the lowest level...

The blockades by Canadian truckers that had completely shut down the U.S.-Canada border crossing at Detroit have been cleared by reopening the Ambassador Bridge, and as of Friday, Ottawa police have begun moving against truckers occupying central Ottawa. Despite these actions on the part of the Canadian government, the truckers comprising the “Freedom Convoy” hold their ground in defiance of threats of a police crackdown as they continue to disrupt other trade routes and cities, occupying the country’s capital for a third week. The members of the Freedom Convoy appear unyielding despite days of warnings from police and the government...

PHILADELPHIA - Four bystanders were struck by gunfire Thursday afternoon when police say an argument between two young men led to a shootout near a Germantown Rite Aid. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 100 block of Chelten Avenue around 4:30 p.m. for reports of gunfire. Police said a 16-year-old girl and a 65-year-old woman were both shot in the chest. They were brought by police to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. Medics rushed a 22-year-old woman to Einstein with a gunshot wound to the lower body, according to police. A man who was...

When it was her turn to speak Thursday morning, interim Conservative leader Candice Bergen said MPs were facing "one of the most serious decisions a parliamentarian can make." She suggested that "history will not be kind" to New Democrats who choose to support the Liberal government's decision to trigger the Emergencies Act to quell anti-vaccine mandate protests that have clogged border crossings and occupied downtown Ottawa for weeks. She called it the "sledgehammer approach." The choice by Bergen or her speechwriter to use the word "sledgehammer" probably wasn't accidental. In October 1970, when former NDP leader Tommy Douglas and most...

Nazi Mind Control Amidst the subtle cerebral circumvention of the gullible populace, through a multitude of manipulated mediums, lies one of the most diabolical atrocities perpetrated upon a segment of the human race; a form of systematic mind control which has permeated every aspect of society for almost fifty years. To objectively ascertain the following, one may need to re-examine preconceived ideologies relating to the dualistic nature of mankind. . . . . .This exposition is substantiated by declassified U.S. government documents, individuals formerly connected to the U.S. intelligence communities, historical writings, researchers knowledgeable in mind control, publications from mental health...

Citing polls that show the majority of Canadians are opposed to the inconveniences resulting from the truckers' peaceful demonstration against the government's covid policies, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has invoked the Emergency Powers Act "to meet this terrorist threat to my rule." The Act passed in 1988 allows for widespread federal civil rights violations and permits the Prime Minister to run the country without consultation with or the approval of Parliament. The first civil rights violation implemented at Trudeau's behest was warrantless seizure of opponents' assets. This includes not only the Trucks parked around Ottawa, but also the bank accounts...

Elon Musk’s The Boring Company is moving ahead with plans to build underground tunnels for cars in a bid to relieve clogged roads and highways in Miami and Texas. Musk’s firm has submitted a plan for a 6.2-mile underground transit system in South Florida where commuters would take Tesla vehicles that would carry them between seven stations. The North Miami Beach Loop includes stops along State Road 826 between Golden Glades Transit Center and Sunny Isles Beach at Newport Pier, according to Business Insider. The goal is for the system to carry between 7,500 and 15,000 passengers per hour, according...

As she turns 81, the singer whose intimacy matches her grandeur is the subject of a public television documentary, “Irma: My Life in Music.”The singer Irma Thomas has long been known as the Soul Queen of New Orleans, a title that feels both richly deserved and far too provincial. Her songs never topped the Billboard pop chart, but they did climb it. And even today, they’re covered by bar bands and in blues jams across the country. Still, if the title suggests a mix of regality and relatability, it makes decent sense. Irma Thomas is, first and foremost, a straight...

We are a divided nation, perhaps more than ever. It’s not just partisan Conservatives or Liberals trying to score points off of each other who are saying that — Canadians are now telling it to pollsters. The latest poll doesn’t use those words but the sentiment is there. People are saying they are worried about the future of Canada, don’t think we are able to keep the peace any longer, and have lost faith in institutions and law enforcement. We have gone from sunny ways to darker days. The latest poll from Maru Public Opinion conducted Feb. 14-15 found a...
