Is it time for Politico founding editor John F. Harris to don a jester's costume? A week ago we saw the spectacle of Harris recommending that Joe Biden reverse his sinking political fortunes by trash talking. And on Thursday, he took yet more silly sauce to urge Chief Justice John Roberts, despite being sixteen years younger than the retiring Stephen Breyer, follow suit by no later than this summer.

Research from the Center for Work-Life Policy shows mid-level, professional women need powerful, senior executives to help promote them to the next level of management. In that same CWLP study, 34% of executive women claim they know a female colleague who has had an affair with a boss. Furthermore, 15% of women at the director level or above admitted to having affairs themselves. And worse, 37% claim the action was rewarded: they said that women involved in affairs received a career boost as a result. Meanwhile, all this hanky-panky is really screwing the rest of us, says Slyvia Ann Hewlett...

Each month, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) asks, "how many people are out of work?" That number GREW by 184,000 last month. It's entirely possible to have a surge in unemployment AND a surge in employment at the same time, because sometimes there is a collapse in the number of people who are "out of the workforce." But that didn't happen. Instead, the government readjusted its estimated size of the workforce up by over 1 million. Since the number of uemployed grew by a much smaller number, the government says, "Whelp, I guess they all got jobs." They...

CNN's left-wing bias may become a thing of the past when it is spun off to Discovery later this year, with the largest shareholder of the network's new owners eager to restore it to impartiality. John Malone, a billionaire Trump donor, is the CEO of Liberty Media, Discovery's largest shareholder. He retains a 25 percent voting share in Discovery, which will take control of WarnerMedia and its assets - including CNN - later this year. With Jeff Zucker gone, that seems more likely than ever. It's unclear which political direction Discovery CEO David Zaslav wants to take the network in....

When conservatives fight one another over God and country, my general reaction is — have at it, and where’s the popcorn? But the recent recall election in Shasta County that pitted a Republican ex-police chief against a far-right faction backed by a local militia is different. It’s a wake-up call ahead of the 2022 midterms that elections can go very wrong, even in liberal California. What happened in Redding should be a big, blinking warning light to what’s left of the mainstream Republican Party, and to us all that we have an obligation as Californians to protect elections across the...

CNN's top talents slammed the top boss of the network's parent company over the ousting of president Jeff Zucker during an explosive meeting Wednesday and demanded to know whether or not he'd consulted anyone in the decision. Anchor Jake Tapper demanded WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar address the 'perception' that Zucker lost his job by refusing to pay 'terrorist' Chris Cuomo the $18million remaining on his contract. 'The perception that Chris Cuomo gets fired by CNN. Chris Cuomo hires a high-powered lawyer who has a scorched-earth policy, who then makes it very clear to the world that unless Jeff gives Chris...

A new super-mutant HIV strain that makes infected individuals ill twice as fast as current versions of the virus has been detected in the Netherlands. The new mutant — called the VB variant — has infected at least 109 people, according to a study by Oxford University. The strain damages the immune system and weakens a person's ability to fight everyday infections and disease faster than previous versions of the virus. It means those who catch this strain could develop AIDS more quickly. The VB variant also has a viral load between 3.5 and 5.5 times higher than the current...

A rare breed of ancient trees appears to be the key to life for forests all over the world. Researchers at The Morton Arboretum say in many forests which date back centuries, there are a small number of trees which provide genetic and evolutionary benefits to the rest of the environment. Moreover, this “tree of life” is usually 10 to 20 times older than the average plant species dwelling in that forest! Study authors found that these ancient trees don’t follow a natural (and predictable) life cycle like other plants, trees, and even humans. They also only make up fewer...

Image credit: Science Photo Library / Alamy Stock Photo Look at this lanky orange hellspawn. I’m going to go ahead and say that we are not buying whatever it’s selling. We’ve got enough problems without having to contemplate the motivations of this faceless alien baby. Meet the giant Antarctic sea spider (Decolopoda australis), seen here absolutely dwarfing a European sea spider. An example of gigantism, wherein an animal grows unusually large due to a lack of predators and other factors that would limit their size, the Antarctic sea spider can grow to more than 30cm in diameter (about the length...

“We have lost our collective medical minds for money.” – Dr. Ryan ColeThe corona vaccines are ineffective and responsible for the increased number of cancer cases, warns pathologist Dr. Ryan Cole. Data from his vaccinated patients and data sent to him by oncologists show that the vaccines disrupt the immune system. Cole also said that the all-cause mortality rate is higher in vaccinated people. When the vaccine was rolled out, the pathologist began to see “this virus that causes this little bump in kids, starting to appear in adults.” In addition, he noticed that cancer rates among women were starting to...

She may be well known as a singing nun in Sister Act, but actress Whoopi Goldberg has claimed she feels just as Jewish as she does black. Speaking this week at a charity event in London, the Oscar-winning actress said: "I just know I am Jewish. I practise nothing. I don't go to temple, but I do remember the holidays. Religion is a lot of work, it's exhausting. So I keep it simple, I have a pretty good relationship with God. We talk.'" She added: "When people heard the name 'Whoopi Goldberg', and then I turned up, I was not...
