The energy crisis surrounding Europe worsened as Germany's fuel-supply network was hit with a cyberattack on Jan. 29. The incident follows mounting tensions between the US and Russia over Ukraine and the possibility Nord Stream 2 pipeline from Russia to Germany could be axed if Russia invades Kyiv. The US has insisted it would block the pipeline opening upon a Russian invasion of Ukraine. Western governments and their corporate media counterparts aren't helping the situation as they drum up the prospects for conflict between Russia and the US. This week, it just so happened a cyberattack partially paralyzed Germany's most...

Everyone else is trying to dodge the novel coronavirus as best they can, but a group of people in Great Britain have recently gone the opposite route. They have signed up to have doctors deliberately expose them to the virus as part of a “human challenge” trial. While this may sound rather crazy, this type of testing has been used for many years and allows researchers to gather data on diseases and the effectiveness of measures taken to prevent or treat them. Still, you’d have to be a little nervous when someone in a surgical mask shows to give you...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The setup was like a typical congressional hearing. There were members of Congress, witnesses, cameras, and members of the press, including yours truly. But what was atypical about the hearing was the location. Members of the House Freedom Caucus, led by Chairman Scott Perry (R-PA), were having the ad-hoc hearing at FreedomWorks, a conservative grassroots advocacy group, because Democrats have been preventing them from holding hearings about the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. Democrats are the current majority and can dictate if such hearings take place, according to the congressional members. "We've repeatedly requested that congressional...

Whoopi Goldberg caused a lot of controversy on Monday when she claimed on The View that the Holocaust wasn’t about “race.”It was a shocking moment on the show, and even her fellow liberal co-hosts challenged her to explain what she “really meant.” Goldberg explained that, in her view, the Holocaust wasn’t about race but rather “man’s inhumanity to man” because it was about “two groups of white people.”Whoopi has made stupid comments on the show before (basically every episode), but these were probably her most controversial comments since 2009, when she said Roman Polanski’s rape of a 13-year-old girl in...

Yup. President Joe Biden has finally gone there. Battered by horrible approval ratings and just today whacked in a Gallup survey showing that voter satisfaction has hit a “gloomy” new low, Biden in just a year is being kicked to the side of the road by voters. Or, as Rasmussen Reports said in its latest analysis, “Most voters think President Joe Biden is one of the worst ever to hold the office, and rank him below his two immediate predecessors in the White House.” In three questions, Rasmussen asked voters about Biden, former President Donald Trump, and former President Barack...

After two solid years of COVID restrictions, many of us have reached a breaking point. Witness the mass exodus to other states from sunny California. Who wouldn't want to get out of here, away from this strangling, prison-like "reality"? Malaise is now spreading throughout the country, as a direct result of Biden's mass migration. How do you know that your chosen destination hasn't been set upon by a horde of unknown, unemployed migrants? This makes moving elsewhere less attractive. You can't know what you'll find when you get there, but it might be just as bad — or if clandestine...

Woman with breast cancer had metastatic lesions in chest wall (top, left) and liver (bottom, left). After receiving the immunotherapy, tumors shrank completely. Recent scans (R) show she is cancer free more than 5 years later. Credit: The National Cancer Institute (NCI) ========================================================================================== An experimental form of immunotherapy that uses an individual’s own tumor-fighting immune cells could potentially be used to treat people with metastatic breast cancer, according to results from an ongoing clinical trial led by researchers at the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Center for Cancer Research, part of the National Institutes of Health. HELL—Reports are coming out from the fiery underworld that even Adolph Hitler—the fascist dictator who is responsible for starting World War II and killing 6 million Jews—was caught by surprise when he heard Whoopi Goldberg’s comments that the holocaust he started was “not about race.” “I was very explicit in my writings and speeches! I compared the Jews to rats and to germs! I appealed to social Darwinism and eugenics on a constant basis to justify everything I did for the master Aryan race! How could this Whoopi Goldberg not pick up what I was laying down!?” the mustachioed psychopath...

The White House has reportedly floated an offer to Russian President Vladimir Putin to allow Kremlin access to key NATO bases in exchange for Moscow de-escalating tensions over its military buildup on Ukraine’s border. The proposal would also involve discussions about Russia verifying that the US has not deployed Tomahawk cruise missiles to bases in Romania and Poland, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday. The reported offer would be contingent on agreement from US allies, including Romania and Poland, while Russia would also have to provide similar information about bases with ground-launched weapon systems. The overture reportedly is intended to ease...

Using B vitamins to lower homocysteine levels is an effective means of reducing blood pressure and may be especially useful in the management of drug-resistant hypertension, according to researchers at the University of Maine and University of Arkansas. Approximately 12.8 percent of the world population experiences drug-resistant hypertension, defined as a failure to reach a target blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg using three classes of antihypertension medication. A newer definition of hypertension, 130/80 mmHg, makes successful management even more difficult to achieve. Homocysteine is an intermediate compound involved in vitamin regulation. Elevated homocysteine is the result of genetic mutations or...

A COVID-19 testing company faked test results and didn’t have licenses to operate testing sites, according to a new lawsuit. The Center for COVID Control claimed to provide COVID-19 tests throughout Washington state for free and promised to provide results within 48 hours. But in reality, the company gathered patient insurance information and provided “invalid COVID-19 test results or no results at all,” according to the 14-page suit, filed in King County Superior Court by Washington state Attorney General Robert Ferguson. Former employees told prosecutors that the company, which lacked licenses to operate in much of the state, was not...

PORTLAND, Ore. — Teachers across Portland Public Schools say masks provided by the district are not enough. A group has now collected more than $5,000 in just one week to order child-size K95 masks. The teachers said they're starting with Rosa Parks Elementary and Cesar Chavez School, with plans to distribute at four other campuses in the weeks ahead. Julie Whitaker is a kindergarten teacher at Bridlemile Elementary. She said they've already received 7,000 masks to pass out to Title I schools starting this week. As flu season progresses, so does the advice to drink plenty of fluids and take fever-reducing medications, like acetaminophen, ibuprofen or aspirin. These recommendations, well-intentioned, offer comfort to those sidelined with fever, flu or vaccine side effects. But you may be surprised to learn the science supporting these recommendations is speculative at best, harmful at worst and comes with caveats. I am an exercise physiologist who specializes in studying how the body regulates fluids and temperature. And based on a wide body of evidence, I can tell you that increased fluid intake and taking fever reducers, whether aspirin, acetaminophen or...
