PORTLAND, Ore. — Teachers across Portland Public Schools say masks provided by the district are not enough. A group has now collected more than $5,000 in just one week to order child-size K95 masks.
The teachers said they're starting with Rosa Parks Elementary and Cesar Chavez School, with plans to distribute at four other campuses in the weeks ahead.
Julie Whitaker is a kindergarten teacher at Bridlemile Elementary. She said they've already received 7,000 masks to pass out to Title I schools starting this week.
One teacher at Rosa Parks Elementary said well-fitting masks are not the norm.
"They’re surgical masks or they’re masks, especially at our elementary schools, they’re paper masks that don’t fit well at all. So, even when I do the little trick where you tie each side, and you push the dimples on the side so it can fit for a lot of the elementary school students, it does not fit well," Aurelian Boudreaux said.

There are N-95 masks and KN-95 masks, but I’ve never heard of K95 masks.

99% of teachers are low-IQ and completely ignorant. This is just pure virtue signally without any science. For the best masks to be effective they need to be worn in hospital environments and replaced every 2 hours.
I have one in my car hanging on the turn signal stalk. Used one time. E-bay maybe? Kinda vintage. Been there over a year. For emergencies.
They live in a damn bubble. While the entire world is waking up to the fact that the new strains are the vaccine, while being far less harmful, these idiots act as though nothing has changed or has become worse. ...on top of the evidence growing about fake numbers and very real treatments.
This is all about control and the abuse of power. Parents should just put their foot down, everyone send their kids to school without masks and refuse to eat outside. They only have the power if you give it too them. They won’t suspend everyone.

This teacher has zero concept of just how small viruses are and the fact the virus is airborne. Well fitted or not, the mask is not going to work.
