HOLLYWOOD, CA—Beloved Hollywood starlet Peter Dinklage pushed back against Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but his efforts seem to have come up short. “I feel cut off at the legs,” said the Game of Thrones star after hearing Disney’s low decision to keep dwarves in a movie about dwarves. “I expected at least a teeny-weeny concession from Disney; I feel overlooked.”

Climate change is threatening to destroy treasures buried in the UK as the soils that protect them dry out. A Roman toilet seat, the world's oldest boxing glove, and the oldest handwritten letter by a woman are some of the extraordinary objects discovered in at-risk British peatlands. It means climate change could undermine our understanding of our past, say archaeologists. About 22,500 archaeological sites in UK may be in danger. The problem is that changing weather patterns are drying out some peatlands - the waterlogged soils that cover about 10% of the UK. Dr Rosie Everett, of Northumbria University, is...

Cosmic physics mimicked on table-top as graphene enables Schwinger effect. Researchers at The University of Manchester have succeeded in observing the so-called Schwinger effect, an elusive process that normally occurs only in cosmic events. By applying high currents through specially designed graphene-based devices, the team — based at the National Graphene Institute — succeeded in producing particle-antiparticle pairs from a vacuum. A vacuum is assumed to be completely empty space, without any matter or elementary particles. However, it was predicted by Nobel laureate Julian Schwinger 70 years ago that intense electric or magnetic fields can break down the vacuum and...

Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont said Wednesday that a big tax break for the wealthy was out of Democrats' Build Back Better plan, and almost immediately triggered a wave of resistance from moderates who argued the issue was far from settled. The issue at hand is the $10,000 limit on the amount of state and local taxes that people can deduct from their annual bills, known as SALT. Some Democrats from New York, California, and New Jersey are strong advocates of rolling it back or eliminating it entirely, handing a big tax break to high-income earners in high-tax states and...

In the latest incident, a potential high-profile defection from China leaves open the possibility of the West getting inside information into one of Beijing’s most advanced hypersonic weapons. China’s Stringent State Secret Laws China’s state secret laws cover almost everything starting from industry data, all the way to the exact birth dates of state leaders. Information can even be designated as a state secret retroactively. There is a wide range of punishments for leaking such sensitive information. In the most serious cases, a life sentence or death penalty can be doled out. For instance, in 2016, a Chinese computer technician...

Republican Tim Reichert, an economist from Golden, officially launched his bid to represent Colorado’s 7th Congressional District on Thursday. Reichert said in a press release that he will invest $500,000 of his own money into the campaign to start. His announcement centered his own experience growing up “lower middle class” and how that led to his policy priorities to strengthen the middle class, reduce inflation and prevent people from leaving the workforce. “I have studied the economy my entire life and I know what it will take to get our country and our middle class back on their feet. I...

RNC Building ‘Army’ of GOP Poll Workers After Decades-Long Court-Ordered Hiatus The Republican National Committee is ramping up presence at the polls this year by enlisting thousands of workers ahead of the midterms, an operation it legally could not run for 40 years prior to 2018. “If elections are the cornerstone of democracy, then transparent and secure elections are one of the most important offerings that the RNC can have,” RNC spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez told Breitbart News. “And it happens to be the first cycle that we can get involved and stand up this operation the way that RNC chairwoman...

Moscow has put what appear to be final preparations for an invasion of Ukraine by sending medical units to the front, moving to a level of readiness that it hadn’t reached in past buildups, according Western defense officials. While the moves don’t mean an attack is certain, they are prerequisites for battle and have intensified debates among Western allies over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s intentions. The U.S. and European allies, particularly Germany and France, appear to be drawing different conclusions from identical intelligence.

Golly gosh, you learn something new every day about the IVF industry. And you thought it was just about gurgling, picture-perfect infants. IVF porn is one of those sordid things that everyone knows about but no one has the stomach to talk about. Last year’s “Private Life”, a highly-praised Netflix film about a middle-aged couple going through IVF, is typical. Equipped with a cup, the exasperated husband enters a cubicle where a wall-mounted screen is playing hard-core porn. It’s part of the fertility furniture. Back in 2010, a British health think tank, 2020Health published a brief report, Who Said Pornography...

“He withdrew into Galilee; and leaving Nazareth, He came and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea” (Matthew 4:12-13). Nothing was accidental or happenstance about Jesus’ earthly ministry. He did not go from Judea to Galilee because Herod or the Jewish leaders forced Him to or because He had nowhere else to go. He left Judea because His work there was finished for the time being. And He came to Galilee because that was the next place, according to the Father’s plan, for Him to minister. Humanly speaking, Jesus left the lower Jordan region for Galilee because of the...

I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to friends and to church leaders we have met all over the world. An earth-shattering calamity is about to happen. It is going to be so frightening that we are all going to tremble, even the godliest among us. We are under God’s wrath. In the psalms, it is written, “For look! The wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow on the string, that they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart. If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:2-3,...
