President Joe Biden's administration will allow Ukraine to use U.S.-provided weapons to strike deep into Russian territory, three sources familiar with the matter said, in a significant change to Washington's policy in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
Ukraine plans to conduct its first long-range attacks in the coming days, the sources said, without revealing details due to operational security concerns.
The White House declined to comment.
The move by the United States two months before President-elect Donald Trump takes office on Jan. 20 follows months of requests by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to allow Ukraine's military to use U.S. weapons to hit Russian military targets far from its border.

If Trump had done this, there would be calls for Congresssional investigations.

He’ll do it. He wants us in the war. Hopefully, the missiles won’t ship before 1/20.
Don’t be surprised when Ruzzia Uses Tactical Nukes.
The Russians have actually been acting with some relative restraint and appear to be trying to do as little permanent damage to the Ukraine as possible.
Their strikes at the Ukraine power grid are against choke points in the distribution networks that can be repaired at relatively minor costs once peace has been established.
Biden and NATO seem to be trying to escalate at a time when they should be de escalating in anticipation of peace negotiations.
It looks for the world like they are continuing their policy of trying to torpedo a cease fire agreement and keep the war rolling as long and as hard as possible.
This is not a recipe for success and it gives the Ukraine net negative negotiating leverage.
I personally think they are trying to set Trump up for another impeachment for interfering in the war in Ukraine while he is still a private citizen. Hope he does not take the bait.
In my last post on this topic I spoke of how Russia was fighting to win, while NATO was just fighting to pointlessly kill people and then lose. This act is the perfect example. The war will be ending soon with Russian victory, and inflicting minor damage deep in Russia will do nothing to change that. The massed bomber fleets over Germany in WWII failed to stem increases in its industrial production, so pinprick missile strikes will be similarly pointless.
How so? Russians will be killed, Planes destroyed, Ammo storage will blow up, more Russian citizens will know that they are at war. The number of schools and apartment buildings in Ukraine that are bombed each night will go down. Putin cannot use Nukes because he knows he will be killed. And he doesn’t know for sure if any of the nukes will work. What if they blow up in the silos?
