Golly gosh, you learn something new every day about the IVF industry. And you thought it was just about gurgling, picture-perfect infants.
IVF porn is one of those sordid things that everyone knows about but no one has the stomach to talk about. Last year’s “Private Life”, a highly-praised Netflix film about a middle-aged couple going through IVF, is typical. Equipped with a cup, the exasperated husband enters a cubicle where a wall-mounted screen is playing hard-core porn. It’s part of the fertility furniture.
Back in 2010, a British health think tank, 2020Health published a brief report, Who Said Pornography was Acceptable in the Workplace? It found that one-third of government-run IVF clinics supplied pornography to male clients. The report’s author, Julia Manning, complained that this material fostered an “adultery of the mind”. She wrote:
Pornography strips women of full human status and reduces them to sex objects. It gives permission to its consumers to treat women as they are treated in porn. And the reality of porn today is that it increasingly uses younger girls and is more violent and extreme…
No reference has been made to the humiliation for the staff, the implied sanctioning of pornography in the workplace, the fostering of unhealthy attitudes towards the opposite sex, the encouragement of ‘adultery of the mind’, and the impact of the addictive nature of porn…
Furthermore, it is demeaning for the employees of the clinics:
“Seventy-seven per cent of the NHS workforce is female and they should never have to work in an environment that endorses pornography.
Unsurprisingly, Dr Alan Thornhill, a well-known IVF specialist, ridiculed Ms Manning’s “disturbing” ignorance and dismissed her concerns about the effects on employees. Pornography, along with other embarrassing subjects, “comes with the territory”, he sneered in BioNews…

Another "highly praised" Netflix series that is x-rated smut. Featuring a husband essentially cheating on his wife. Lovely. I guess it is mild compared to Cuties.
So good for our culture for this stuff to now be considered mainstream.

Porn is so common on the internet. I imagine young people thinking a typical roll in the hay goes on for 20 minutes. Men are all hung like horses. Women have all sorts of dexterity...
Nothing is left for the "adventure" of learning and sharing about each other. And the expectation of the act and resulting disappointment must be great. I feel for young people and how they define romance these days.

I’m pretty sure that “Lots of men are going to come in here every day and jack off” is kinda implied when one takes a job at a fertility clinic.

An old guy who never married or had children decides his only hope of passing on his genes is to make a deposit at a sperm bank. He makes an appointment and arrives to make his deposit.
The receptionist gives him a cup and some worn magazines and tells him to bring his sample to the desk when he’s ready.
The moment the door closes the staff hears what sounds like an energetic struggle from the room. “Ugh! Hrumph! Urgh! Ahh! Urh! Ahh! Hmmn!...” This goes on for several minutes and heavy breathing can be heard in the clinic. Eventually the staff grows concerned and calls the nurse to knock and ask if he’s all right.
“Sir, are you ok in there?” she asks.
The door opens a crack and the old guy reaches out and says, “Can you please take the cap off the bottle?”
Got rid of Netflix a few years ago, don’t care what they show.
Well how did he think this works? Pretty much anybody in the sperm collection/ analysis business provides porn. It’s pretty much the best way to get samples.

Children should be concieved by a married man and woman in union together with the invitation of the Lord’s presence. This is what sex is meant for, the creation of children and the strengthening of marriage.
If a man and woman cannot conceive in this manner, then it is best for them to continue loving each other and continue to strengthen their bond in union. The Lord works miracles.
Additionally, we don’t know the reason why the Lord does not grant children to some couples. Joachim and Anna (Mary’s parents) were barren until their 70s, when they conceived Mary. Zachariah and Elizabeth were also past the “child bearing” age when they conceived John the Baptist.
There are many examples throughout history of barren couples adopting children, and what salvation it is for those children. The Lord’s surrogacy.
It is true IVF requires deviant sexual acts for it to be completed. Even scraping the woman’s womb is a violent act. Better for couples to love each other and the Lord, keep themselves open for the Lord’s blessing, and keep perversion far away from the family and marriage bed.
Watching the newer Brit shows on BritBox I have to say that the Brits as a group are getting pretty twisted.
