âThe most terrifying words in the English language are: Iâm from the government, and Iâm here to help.â â Ronald Reagan. Government-controlled education has no intention of giving parents control of their childrenâs education. School districts have unprecedented funds to teach Critical Race Theory and Social-Emotional Learning. After decades of being told big brother knows best, âbig brotherâ received the ultimate test during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. Most schools were entirely unprepared for virtual learning. Very few studies are available to know how the loss of instructional time has affected students. When schools reopened, they mandated masks and vaccines for...

Certain hemp cannabinoids have the power to block SARS-CoV-2 – the virus that causes COVID-19 – from entering human cells, new research has shown. Let’s get in here early to say that this study has only been carried out in the lab, not humans, and there’s nothing to suggest using cannabis will boost your immunity against COVID-19 – unfortunately, it’s nowhere near that simple. With that out of the way, the new research does suggest that some of these compounds could potentially pave the way towards some interesting antiviral treatments in the future. The study was recently reported in the...

MADISON, Wis. — The homicide trial for Chandler Halderson will be put on hold until at least next week after Halderson tested positive for COVID-19, the judge in the case ruled Wednesday morning. Judge John Hyland informed the jury of a positive test among someone integral to the case, but did not reveal it was Halderson himself after his defense team expressed concern that the diagnosis could possibly cause jurors to hold it against him in some way. All attorneys for the defense and the prosecution left the courtroom and appeared via Zoom as the jury was informed, while Halderson...

Stacey has a plan, and it’s only a surprise to people who haven’t paid attention. She plans to become the first Black woman governor in the United States next year. And then run for president in 2024 if Biden does not, or in 2028 if he does.” — Newsweek, November 2021 The quote comes from "an adviser who asked not to be identified to speak freely about her thinking." Fast-forward to Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022. President Biden and Vice President Harris visited Abrams's home turf of Georgia to push their "voting rights" legislation, which is already on life support. Democrats...

A retired sheriff’s captain who tried to unseat Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith in 2014 is trying again next year, amid a cloud of criticism over the six-term incumbent that hit a crescendo this week when the Board of Supervisors formally gave her a vote of no confidence. Kevin Jensen filed with the county registrar on Tuesday, records show, the same day that the no-confidence vote was held ...

Artist’s representation of IXPE in Earth orbit. Credit: NASA NASA’s newest X-ray eyes are open and ready for discovery! Having spent just over a month in space, the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) is working and already zeroing in on some of the hottest, most energetic objects in the universe. A joint effort between NASA and the Italian Space Agency, IXPE is the first space observatory dedicated to studying the polarization of X-rays coming from objects like exploded stars and black holes. Polarization describes how the X-ray light is oriented as it travels through space. “The start of IXPE’s science...

Brown University researchers are part of a consortium tracking the impact of COVID-19 on patients with cancer. The first study to evaluate the clinical characteristics and outcomes of vaccinated (but not boosted) patients with cancer who had breakthrough COVID-19 infections indicates they remained at high risk for hospitalization and death. The study, published in Annals of Oncology, showed that vaccinated patients who experienced breakthrough COVID-19 infections had a hospitalization rate of 65%, an ICU or mechanical ventilation rate of 19% and a 13% death rate. Data for the study was collected before booster vaccines were recommended for patients with cancer...

As more vaccinated people become infected with the omicron variant, we’re going to have to learn to live with Covid — and with each other. Back in September I got Covid, and got it bad. For two weeks I was too sick to work or do much of anything except sit on the couch or lie down in bed. The initial (and very intense) flu-like symptoms turned into a bad cough, which slowly faded into persistent fatigue and what many have described as a kind of Covid “brain fog.” It was nearly a month before I had recovered enough to...

And the plot thickens. Newly released emails show that Education Secretary Miguel Cardona was behind the letter sent last September from the National School Boards Association which requested federal intervention against parents protesting at school board meetings, comparing them to “domestic terrorists,” the New York Post reports. An email shows that on October 6, NSBA Secretary-Treasurer Kristi Swett told NSBA board member Marnie Maraldo that Chip Slaven, then serving as interim CEO of the organization had admitted to fellow officers that “he was writing a letter to provide information to the White House, from a request by Secretary Cardona.” The...

I wanted to put out there my personal experience with China Virus and am interested in hearing your experiences. I definitely had COVID back in September/October 2021. I was sick for about two weeks, but did not go to the doctor. Basically, it felt like a mild, bizarre flu, with a fever that moved from my waist to my forehead. I made a full recovery (with the exception of my sense of taste and smell which is still a little screwed up) and actually worked every day while I was sick. Fast-forward to this past week, when I had 4...

Rabbi Yekutiel Fish, a prominent mystic from Jerusalem, gave a lesson last week in which he proved through a precise mathematical equation that next year will be the final Jubilee before the arrival of the Messiah. “We are now in the month of Shevat on the eve of the Messiah,” Rabbi Fish said at the beginning of his lesson. “If you happen to hear a shofar, don’t be alarmed or confused,” the rabbi joked. “It is only the arrival of the Messiah.” Rabbi Fish attributed the teaching to Rabbi Oren Evron, a prominent mystic-numerologist. “Rabbi Evron told me the following...

Recently, Molly Taft at Gizmodo proclaimed, "California's Epic Snowstorms Are Great News." Great news, indeed, with snowfall running some 150% above normal for the Sierra Nevadas, or "200% of average for snow water equivalent." For years, climate alarmists bemoaned the multiyear drought that, they insisted, would utterly "destroy" California. The drought, they wrote, was the product of global warming and was thus more or less permanent. Say goodbye to California agriculture; life in California cities; and, eventually, life on Earth. Those claims were false, as this year's massive Sierra snow-pack shows. When the snow melts in the spring, that water...

“And the tempter came and said to Him . . .” (Matthew 4:3). It is not popular today to believe in a literal, personal devil, even among professing Christians. The devil is increasingly seen as being somewhere between a figment of our imagination and a useful device to coerce obedience. Yet in addition to the name used here (“tempter”), the New Testament gives Satan many other names: “ruler of this world” (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11); “the prince of the power of the air” (Eph. 2:2); “the god of this world” (2 Cor. 4:4); “Abaddon” and “Apollyon,” both of which mean...

A number of ministers have shared with me their concern for parishioners who are simply giving up. “Good honest Christians are so overwhelmed by guilt and condemnation that it causes despair. When they can’t live up to their own expectations, when they fall back into sin, they decide to give up…” Growing numbers of Christians are at the breaking point. Few Christians would even dare entertain thoughts of quitting on their love for Jesus, but in despair they consider giving up on themselves. Some ministers today continually preach only a positive message. To hear them tell it, every Christian is...

A few years ago, the editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter pitched a story to the newsroom. He had just come back from lunch with a well-known agent, who had suggested the paper take a look at the unintended consequences of Hollywood’s efforts to diversify. Those white men who had spent decades writing scripts—which had been turned into blockbuster movies and hit television shows—were no longer getting hired. The newsroom blew up. The reporters, especially the younger ones, mocked the idea that white men were on the outs. The editor-in-chief, normally self-assured, immediately backtracked. He looked rattled. It was a missed...
