As more vaccinated people become infected with the omicron variant, we’re going to have to learn to live with Covid — and with each other.
Back in September I got Covid, and got it bad. For two weeks I was too sick to work or do much of anything except sit on the couch or lie down in bed. The initial (and very intense) flu-like symptoms turned into a bad cough, which slowly faded into persistent fatigue and what many have described as a kind of Covid “brain fog.” It was nearly a month before I had recovered enough to work out and resume a normal schedule.
For all that, though, I was relieved. Having contracted Covid and recovered from what was by no means a mild case, I knew that my natural immunity conferred longer lasting and stronger protection against future infection and illness than the immunity I could get from any of the Covid vaccines.
But I was also relieved because it irrevocably settled a question for me: No matter what else happens in this pandemic, I’m never going to get a Covid vaccine. Ever. I’m one of the “unvaccinated,” and I’m going to stay that way.
A lot of people, upon hearing this, won’t want to listen to anything else I have to say. They’ll conclude I’m a crank and a conspiracy theorist — or just a blithering idiot. The unvaccinated, for too many Americans, are nothing more than selfish rabble whose continued intransigence is, at best, needlessly putting the vulnerable at risk and, at worst, outright killing people.
If anyone is to blame for the terrible toll of Covid, their thinking goes, it’s people like me, who are perpetuating what President Biden has repeatedly called a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.” We’re so awful, according to Los Angeles Times columnist Michael Hiltzik, that although it might be ghoulish to mock us if we die of Covid, it’s necessary. After all, we’re just getting what we deserve.
Yet at least 40 percent of the country remains unvaccinated. You can’t just write off 130 million Americans as conspiracy theory-addled rubes, or decide it’s okay to dance on their graves if they die of Covid. That’s a recipe for a poisoned public discourse, and it’s fundamentally un-American.
Besides, one thing the omicron variant has made clear is that we’re going to have to learn to live with Covid, at least for a while. So it’s time for the vaccinated to try to understand the motivations of the unvaccinated, and learn to live with them, too, instead of incessantly scapegoating and demonizing them.

Millions have now gotten vaccines and boosters...and they’re still getting Covid. NO ONE knows to what degree they would have gotten Covid without the vaccines. The survival rate is just too close.

Omicron Makes Biden’s Vaccine Mandates Obsolete

Federal courts considering the Biden administration’s vaccination mandates—including the Supreme Court at Friday’s oral argument—have focused on administrative-law issues. The decrees raise constitutional issues as well. But there’s a simpler reason the justices should stay these mandates: the rise of the Omicron variant.
It would be irrational, legally indefensible and contrary to the public interest for government to mandate vaccines absent any evidence that the vaccines are effective in stopping the spread of the pathogen they target. Yet that’s exactly what’s happening here.
Both mandates—from the Health and Human Services Department for healthcare workers and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for large employers in many other industries—were issued Nov. 5. At that time, the Delta variant represented almost all U.S. Covid-19 cases, and both agencies appropriately considered Delta at length and in detail, finding that the vaccines remained effective against it.
Those findings are now obsolete:
As of Jan. 1, Omicron represented more than 95% of U.S. Covid cases, according to estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Because some of Omicron’s 50 mutations are known to evade antibody protection, because more than 30 of those mutations are to the spike protein used as an immunogen by the existing vaccines, and because there have been mass Omicron outbreaks in heavily vaccinated populations, scientists are highly uncertain the existing vaccines can stop it from spreading. As the CDC put it on Dec. 20, “we don’t yet know . . . how well available vaccines and medications work against it.”

Speaking during remarks to a J.P. Morgan healthcare conference this week, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla openly stated current vaccines the company developed for Wuhan coronavirus offer “limited, if any” protection against contracting current variants of the disease. He then encouraged booster shots.
The statement from Bourla comes as the Biden administration continues to justify vaccine mandates for federal workers, contractors and private businesses. The Supreme Court heard arguments about President Biden’s mandates for private companies and medical workers last week. A ruling is expected soon on the constitutionality of the mandates.
A number of people who have pointed out the waning efficacy of Pfizer’s vaccines, which Bourla touted last year as being “100 percent” effective against contracting or transmitting the virus, have been banned by social media companies.

I personally think it’s smart to get the first two if you have not already gotten covid. But I have chosen to pass on the boosters.
But support others decisions to make different choices.
It’s going to get harder and harder, I’m afraid, to hold out.

I will never get ANY vaccine again. I am not sure I will ever go to the dr again. I think they are all liars and are no longer looking out for my best interest. There used to be a time-no longer. I’m on my second round of the Wu-Flu in two years and I still say no, Hell no! to the vax.
The animals were euthanized and dissected. Stop spewing misinformation.
We were directly exposed to COVID for at least 10 days in early November from our son. None of us vaccinated. We never tested positive with antigen tests though. We’ve been taking the supplement regime everyone speaks of here. If it was Delta I’d have expected a butt kicking. If it was omi-con I’d expect to at least catch it. Nothing on antigen tests for weeks so we didn’t spread it.
For what its worth:
My place of business has 52 employees and deals with members of over 300 different families on a daily basis.
Of our 52 employees: 49 are vaccinated and 3 are not.
All 49 who were fully vaccinated got Covid. Only 1 of the 3 who were not vaccinated got Covid.
Not one required hospitalization but the spouse of one (who already had health issues )did. No one died. Employee ages are between 22-64.
2 employees (both vaccinated) got Covid a second time.
Get vaxxed, don’t get vaxxed. I don’t care either way. As we all know, it’s our bodies.

The irony here is that so many covidiots will gladly and sanctimoniously take the shots but refuse to eat GMO foods.
