A tectonic shift in the world of economics has taken place: New York Times economist Paul Krugman finally admitted that his detractors on inflation were right all along. The leftist economist surprisingly conceded in a new op-ed that others have warned “that we may face something comparable to the stagflation of the 1970s. And credit where credit is due.” Then came the sticker shock: “So far, warnings about inflation have proved right, while Team Transitory’s predictions that inflation would quickly fade have been wrong.” Talk about eating crow. Krugman recently conceded Nov. 14 that he “got inflation wrong” even though...

A digital terrain model of Valles Marineris. (ESA/DLR/FU Berlin (G. Neukum), CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A vast system of canyons that dramatically scars the face of Mars could be harboring reserves of hidden water. An unusually high quantity of hydrogen has been detected in the heart of the 4,000 kilometers (2,485 miles) of canyons known as Valles Marineris, nicknamed the Grand Canyon of Mars. We know this thanks to new data from the ESA-Roscosmos ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter's FREND instrument. The finding suggests that, at depths up to a meter (three feet) below the surface, the soil in the...

ATLANTA, GA—According to an anonymous source within the organization, CNN has quietly reset their counter that measures the days since one of their employees committed a sex crime back to zero. "I don't think we've ever made it past one day," said the source. "Well, I take that back—I think we made it for two days sometime last spring." This seems to confirm what many on the outside have come to suspect—that CNN is a roiling cauldron of disgusting sexual abuse that would make the residents of Sodom and Gomorrah blush. Efforts have been made to decrease the number of...

In the eye-popping, now-viral video, which had amassed more than 2.9 million views on Twitter as of Tuesday afternoon, a barefoot Rochelle is seen pushing a little boy out of her way as she struts over to her grinning groom, who’s seated in the middle of a dance floor. Then, draped in the bedazzled halter dress and matching G-string undies, the buxom bride bends over and wiggles her rear in her new hubby’s face while her bridal party busts a repetition of sultry moves to Beyoncé’s sexy single “Dance for You.”

Monthly cash for food, lodging, and 'movement' assistance amounts to material support for illegal immigration. It influences decisions to cross.AUSTIN, Texas – During a recent trip to a Reynosa, Mexico migrant camp, I took photos of a United Nations-supported International Organization for Migration (IOM) operation to hand out cash debit cards to intending and repeat border crossers. One of two workers at a plastic folding table inside the Reynosa camp, which was filled to capacity with at least 1,200 mostly U.S.-expelled Central Americans, said they were distributing the cards for IOM to help migrants waiting until they cross the Rio...

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) said Tuesday on ABC’s “The View” that she was looking into following Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D-CA) recent proposal to allow private citizens to sue manufacturers and distributors of assault weapons. Co-host Sarah Haines said, “Last the Supreme Court refused to block a Texas law that allows everyday citizens to sue abortion providers. Then California Governor Newsom wants to take that law and flip it and allow citizens in his state to sue assault weapon and ghost gun providers. Would you do something like this? is it an effective legal strategy?” AD James said,...

The House of Representatives committee investigating the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol acknowledged on Wednesday that it doctored a text message between former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), excluding content about how they wanted former Vice President Mike Pence to handle electoral votes during the Joint Session of Congress earlier this year. On Monday, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the head of the House Intelligence Committee, showed a graphic during a hearing on newly obtained communications between Meadows and others, including Jordan. The graphic was displayed as the Jan. 6 panel was...

Politically connected First Solar also secured $3 billion in loan guarantees from Obama administration A solar energy company owned by a Biden megadonor received a $500 million government loan to build a manufacturing facility in India, the Biden administration announced this week, raising questions about whether the company's political clout played any role in the financing decision. The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation granted the loan to First Solar, which is owned by billionaire Walmart heir Lukas Walton, to build a solar module plant in India. Walton contributed over $300,000 to President Joe Biden's campaign last year, and over $100,000...

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Wednesday said he thinks President Biden’s social spending and climate bill, the Build Back Better Act, is “dead forever,” as Senate Democrats struggle to get their caucus unified behind the legislation. Graham pointed specifically to the wariness of Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who has signaled concerns about the roughly $2 trillion cost of the bill and its potential effects on inflation. “I think Build Back Better is dead forever, and let me tell you why, because Joe Manchin has said he's not going to vote for a bill that will add to the deficit,” Graham...

President Biden on Wednesday touted the number of unemployment insurance claims, stating that the number represents one of the strongest jobs recoveries ever. “Today, we received further evidence that our jobs recovery is one of the strongest ever. The average number of Americans filing for unemployment over the last four weeks is now at its lowest level since 1969,” Biden said in a statement. The four-week moving average for claims fell by 16,000 to 203,750, the lowest level since Nov. 15, 1969. New applications for jobless aide rose slightly last week, totaling 206,000, an increase of 18,000 from the previous...

A microscopic close-up of the copper surface. (Smith et al., Biomaterials, 2021) ========================================================================= Copper is well known for being able to kill off bacteria that it comes into contact with – the metal releases ions that are toxic to bacterial cells, punching through their outer membranes. However, this process usually takes several hours. A newly developed copper surface does the job in just a couple of minutes, though, some 120 times faster than normal copper. The less time the bacteria hang around, of course, the safer that surfaces like door handles and worktops are going to be. The scientists behind...

Inflation is spiraling out of control, the Southern border is essentially nonexistent, Iran is growing more aggressive by the day, America is no longer energy independent, and COVID hysteria and authoritarianism keep on advancing, but at least one American couldn’t be happier: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ketel One). In yet another episode of the Left’s long-running “Believe Me, Not Your Lying Eyes” show, Pelosi claimed that the Biden faux presidency, far from being the dumpster fire that everyone in the world can see that it is, has been “just perfect.” She didn’t even burst out laughing as she said it....

An Antarctic ice shelf could crack and disintegrate within the next decade, allowing a Florida-sized glacier to slide into the ocean and raising sea levels by feet, scientists warned Wednesday. A dramatic chain reaction in the ice could occur by 2031, starting with the Thwaites Glacier, said Erin Pettit, a professor at Oregon State University who studies glacier and ice sheet dynamics. New research Pettit presented to a meeting of the American Geophysical Union in New Orleans suggests the final collapse of the ice shelf may occur "within as little as 5 years" and mark the beginning of the end...

France will ban non-essential travel to and from Britain from the weekend to slow the spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant that is causing record numbers of cases on the other side of the Channel, the government has said. From midnight Saturday there will be a "requirement to have an essential reason to travel to, or come from, the UK, both for the unvaccinated and vaccinated ... People cannot travel for touristic or professional reasons," the government said in a statement, adding that French citizens and EU nationals could still return to France from the UK.
