One of God’s names in scripture is Jehovah-Nissi. It means the God who provides, who is a banner, who lifts ups, who exalts. It’s an interesting combination of meanings all together in one word. This Hebrew word nissi was used in Jewish weddings. When the bride and groom were at the wedding party, all of the guests would make the couple sit in two chairs; then they would lift the chairs up and walk around the room, carrying the bride and groom. That action of lifting up was called nissi. I think it’s a powerful picture because marriage is a...

“. . . Being found in appearance as a man” (Philippians 2:8). Many people view Christ only as a man, but He is God. After winning a gold medal at the 1924 Olympics in Paris, Scottish runner Eric Liddell served as a missionary in China; he died in a prison camp during World War II. The camp’s prisoners loved Eric, for he served them so unselfishly. It was only at his funeral that they first learned he was an Olympic hero. They had had no idea of his full identity. Most people didn’t realize Christ’s full identity either, for He...

The thief smashes the back window, steals two bags and then goes back for more – all while people nearby carry on. “It’s out of control. We have people that are doing this – are breaking into cars in Nob Hill, then they go down to Fisherman’s Wharf, then they come out here. Then they go to another part of the city and the police can’t chase the cars, it’s considered a misdemeanor,” said Alan Byard, a San Francisco Patrol Special Police Officer. As a patrol special officer, Byard is part of a neighborhood police force authorized in San Francisco’s...

British author, commentator and curmudgeon Malcolm Muggeridge once opined that ecumenism is like two drunks walking down Oxford Circus each holding onto the other for dear life. If one falls, they both would go down together. Were Muggeridge alive today, he would note that not only is the Church of England in steep decline and heading into the sunset of its days, but the Scottish Episcopal Church and the Church of Scotland, the established church, are in a race to obscurity. The two church's recent signing of a "Declaration" to work together, was little more than putting lipstick on a...

From Commentsreecealmighty 3 hours ago From what I've seen, these doctors should be treasured and held with very high regard. The majority of medical "professionals" in the world right now seem to be either under some mass hypnosis, or are very weak and too scared to speak up (or both). Thank GOD there are doctors in this country that have a brain AND a backbone...I, for one, appreciate it greatly. Thank you. Front Line Critical Care Alliance: https://covid19criticalcare.com/

Chris Christie said it's "undeniable" that former President Donald Trump infected him with COVID-19 in 2020 and blasted former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows for not disclosing that Trump had tested positive on September 26 in an interview with PBS' Margaret Hoover. Christie added that while he had always "suspected" that Trump had given him COVID, the new revelations from Meadows' book made it "undeniable."
