At 39, he is one of the most omnipresent and newly-powerful members of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet. An opinion piece at the far-left New York Times admits that the appeal of moving to the Red State of Texas is no mystery. “I’ve lived in California nearly all my life, and it’s still more likely than not that I will remain here; reports of a sudden ‘exodus’ from the state are frequently exaggerated,” writes Farhad Manjoo. “Still, there’s plenty going wrong — soaring housing costs, devastating poverty and inequality, and the cascading disasters brought about by a change in what was once our big selling point, the climate.”

SNIP“This is important to understand because this is where modern American history lessons often end. Thanksgiving is actually explained in some textbooks as a holiday for which the Pilgrims gave thanks to the Indians for saving their lives, rather than what it really was. That happened, don’t misunderstand. That all happened, but that’s not — according to William Bradford’s journal — what they ultimately gave thanks for. “Here is the part that has been omitted: The original contract” that they made on the Mayflower as they were traveling to the New World…They actually had to enter into that contract “with...

The first official Thanksgiving Proclamation by Plymouth Colony Governor William Bradford 398 years ago, provides a key insight into the true meaning of the holiday. "Inasmuch as the great Father has given us this year an abundant harvest of Indian corn, wheat, peas, beans, squashes, and garden vegetables, and has made the forests to abound with game and the sea with fish and clams, and inasmuch as He has protected us from the ravages of the savages, has spared us from pestilence and disease, has granted us the freedom to worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience....

British experts have sounded the alarm over a new Covid variant believed to have emerged in Botswana that is the most mutated version of the virus yet. Only 10 cases of the strain, which could be named 'Nu', have been detected so far. But it has already been spotted in three countries, suggesting the variant is more widespread. It carries 32 mutations, many of which suggest it is highly transmissible and vaccine-resistant, and has more alterations to its spike protein than any other variant. Professor Francois Balloux, a geneticist at University College London, said it likely emerged in a lingering...

Anonymous alleged “U.S. and congressional officials” told the Wall Street Journal this week President Joe Biden is planning to remove the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), a nearly 60-year-old terrorist organization responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths, from America’s list of designated foreign terrorist groups. The FARC, a communist group, has been responsible for a wide variety of human rights atrocities in Colombia since its founding in 1964 that include mass killings, kidnappings, child rape, forced abortions, the use of child soldiers, and one of the world’s most lucrative drug trafficking operations. The government of then-President Juan Manuel...

A woman’s rights group is suing the state to overturn a new law that requires prisons to place transgender and gender nonbinary inmates in facilities that correspond to their gender identities, alleging the practice puts incarcerated people in danger. The mandate went into effect at 11:59 p.m. on November 21 and requires “all individuals to wear a face covering when indoors regardless of vaccination status.” Unfortunately, a potential winter surge appears to be a significant threat to the health and safety of our community,” said Santa Cruz County Health Officer Dr. Gail Newel in the announcement. “As we look forward to spending time with those we love during the holidays, it is important to protect vulnerable friends and...

Anthony Fauci, who continues to appear on TV every day two years into the pandemic, declared Tuesday that anyone who criticises him is “killing people.”In an MSNBC interview, Fauci proclaimed “I’m not in it for a popularity contest. I’ve devoted my entire professional career of 50 years to try and essentially safeguard and preserve the health and lives of the American people and as an infectious disease doctor who deals with outbreak, that gets really extended to the rest of the world.”“That’s what I do,” Fauci further declared, adding “The praise or the arrows and slings are really irrelevant. … “Because of the strength of our economic recovery, American families have been able to buy more products,” Biden said this month at the Port of Baltimore. “And — but guess what? They’re not going out to dinner and lunch and going to the local bars because of COVID. So what are they doing? They’re staying home, they’re ordering online, and they’re buying product.” That view is the closest thing the administration has offered to an explanation for why the White House was surprised by the size and durability of a price surge that has hurt Biden’s poll numbers and...

Joe Biden is keeping his own family holiday tradition: going to Nantucket. The president and first lady Jill Biden have long celebrated Thanksgiving on the well-heeled Massachusetts island off of Cape Cod. But with most members of the public unfamiliar with the first family's holiday history, Democrats are dismissing concerns that self-proclaimed "Scranton Joe" will seem out of touch with the working-class voters he is trying to persuade to cast ballots for Democrats next year. Biden's Thanksgiving plans personify a "Marie Antoinette attitude," according to presidential historian and Ronald Reagan biographer Craig Shirley, as people struggle amid a pandemic-strained economy...
