An opinion piece at the far-left New York Times admits that the appeal of moving to the Red State of Texas is no mystery.
“I’ve lived in California nearly all my life, and it’s still more likely than not that I will remain here; reports of a sudden ‘exodus’ from the state are frequently exaggerated,” writes Farhad Manjoo. “Still, there’s plenty going wrong — soaring housing costs, devastating poverty and inequality, and the cascading disasters brought about by a change in what was once our big selling point, the climate.”

Who cares?
All the democRat problems are caused by the climate. Funny, that rascally climate doesn't cause those problems in Texas and Florida. I wonder why?
New York and California refugees welcome. Colonists, not welcome!
Nancy’s moving to Florida, was she not available for comment?????
Please, please do not come to Texas. We are not the right state for you. Try Oregon or Washington. They are better suited to your political needs.
Whatever he says, I don’t care. I cannot get anywhere here in my Texas city. At 10 AM my crappy little grocery store is packed. Day before thanksgiving ok but 10 AM packed
Favorite brunch place if I go on a Tuesday off. Packed
Home value/price doubled in 2 years.
Traffic out of control. Stop.
I’ve lived in California my entire life (76 years). The only climate change we’ve had here is the political climate. We’ve been taken over by swarms of limousine liberals who have infested our coastal regions and our state government and education system. Our schools now concentrate on turning out good little Marxists only. Conservatives, Christians, American patriots need not apply.
The author forgot to mention the biggest reason that California has become a hellhole. The reason being that, California is full or liberals/progressives/socialists/communists. Were it not for that9those reasons, California would be a fantastic place to live.
The cultural separation is already well along. People jump up and down about the alleged importance of partisan politics, while missing the actual change that is happening right under their noses: people are voting with their feet. As they should.
Attention Californians: You will not like Texas.
Please join your compatriots in Colorado. You’ve already ruined that state.
The US should be b building a border wall along the California border, IOW. ;^)
NO - NO - NO
They’ve already turned OR and WA into CA North and the difference is the weather up here SUCKS! Don’t waste your time. Stay in CA - it’s what you voted for!
just a note
when conservatives speak of poverty and inequality, its abut how it impacts PEOPLE and offer ideas and solutions to reduce it
when liberals speak of it, they are not bothered by people that are experiencing poverty and inequality, they are upset that not the right percentages of demographic groups are “properly represented” in the suffering, they care not to offer solutions that work to eliminate it
Farhad Manjoo of the New York Times is a South African-born ethnic Indian carpet-bagger, and the type who sucks the life and future out of California and American journalism. A Cornell graduate (which indicates that he must be Marxist), he has a history of left wing journalism. I imagine he was from Durban, the large Indian colony in South Africa, otherwise he would be dead by now.
Come on down fers!! Believe me WE WILL DESTROY YOU HERE!! Oh yeah...Please please I implore you come on down! We really love us a communist barbecue!
If they move here they should be prohibited from voting for 20 years.
What is a Farhad Manjoo?
Buddy, if you want to move to Texas, you gotta get a real Texas name.
Like Lorenzo de Zavala. Or William B. Travis. Or Branch Archer.
Don’t be bringing any manjoo farhat here, things will not go well for you.
