And a good pre-Thanksgiving to one and all. Last chance to post your favorite,famous,and/or fabulous Thanksgiving recipes!I thought today I’d simply post Rush’s annual Thanksgiving story. You know, the one Rush used to read from his book See, I Told You So every Thanksgiving Eve. He told the tale in an attempt to stem the tide of anti-capitalism, anti-western civilization, anti-American propaganda inculcating every aspect of culture, beginning with education before spilling over into the rest of society.I did note an increasing proliferation of “Rush’s Thanksgiving tale is a big fat lie!” stories as I was looking for a link....

One minute, Dan Cooper was a real man. Of course, “Dan Cooper” may not have been the name on his birth certificate, but his body was corporeal enough as he stood in a Boeing 727-100 on November 24, 1971. A stairway dangled dangerously from the belly of the near-empty airliner flying over southwestern Washington. No one knows whether he leapt confidently off those open steps from 10,000 feet in the air, or maybe closed his eyes and inched downward into the storm outside. But exit he did, and in that moment birthed something new: one of Washington’s biggest legends. Fifty...

Centrist Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) is calling on President Biden to restore the Keystone XL pipeline as gas prices across the country rise. "I continue to call on President Biden to responsibly increase energy production here at home and to reverse course to allow the Keystone XL pipeline to be built which would have provided our country with up to 900,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada, one of our closest allies," Manchin said in a Tuesday statement, according to the Gazette in Colorado Spring, Colorado. "To be clear, this is about American energy independence and the fact that...

WASHINGTON, Saturday, Nov. 23. The question of granting clearances to vessels for Southern ports reconquered by Government, was before the Cabinet yesterday for consideration. It is understood that the matter has been referred to the Secretary of the Treasury for decision. The President and Secretary SEWARD left at 1 o'clock to-day, in the Mount Washington, to visit the flotilla. They returned at a late hour this evening. JAMES O. BROADHEAD, of Missouri, has been appointed United States District-Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, in place of ASA S. JONES, removed. Mr. Jones was appointed by the present Administration, but...

Eyewitness reports in affidavit confirm attack was deliberate.. The affidavit against the Christmas parade killer states that Darrell Edward Brooks Jr drove in a zig zag pattern in order to “hit as many” people as possible, confirming yet again that the massacre was a deliberate attack. Ever since the incident, the media has tried to play down any possibility that the attack was motivated by Brooks’ extremist political views, his support for BLM or violent hatred for white people. This was exemplified in the hours after the tragedy, when numerous outlets falsely reported that Brooks was merely trying to flee...

Missouri judge ruled that local health officials can no longer issue COVID-19 safety orders. He said the orders infringe upon the constitutional separation of powers between branches of government, reported the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The ruling from Cole County Circuit Court Judge Daniel Green means local health regulations throughout Missouri are struck down and rendered obsolete, reported the Post-Dispatch.

Calling the Aug. 29 mistaken counterterror attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, a wartime error -- or an "endless war" withdrawal blunder -- understates the inhumane effects and geostrategic significance of the tragedy. On the other hand, labeling the incident a war crime absurdly overstates the case. Prior to the strike, an Islamic State group-sponsored terror bombing had killed 13 U.S. military personnel and Afghans seeking to escape the Taliban's impending tyranny. Chaos and deadly threats haunted the whole of Afghanistan, but thanks to the Biden administration's botched withdrawal operation, Kabul's international airport had become the bull's-eye target for terrorists. Here are...

Constitutional Carry is advancing in Pennsylvania. Senate Bill 565 is a strong Constitutional Carry bill, which mostly removes current prohibitions on carrying concealed, the requirement for a permit to carry openly or concealed in Philadelphia, and maintains the possibility of obtaining an optional license to carry if one is desired. On November 9, 2021, the Pennsylvania Senate passes Senate Bill 565 by a vote of 29 to 21.On November 17, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 565 by a vote of 107 to 92.The bill will almost certainly be vetoed by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf (D). Social and emotional learning is the latest trend at your child's school. SEL sounds beneficial, but that's a disguise. In truth, it indoctrinates kids with extremist ideas many parents don't condone. On Nov. 22, the Hartford Courant reported that West Hartford, Connecticut, elementary school parents are in an uproar. They're complaining that teachers are putting words such as "nonbinary" on the chalkboard and telling kids, including kindergarteners, they can live life as a gender different from what they were assigned at birth. Parents were told by school authorities that they can't opt their children out. Most Americans think parents should...

I used to play a great deal of poker, even lived off it for a while. I became rather skilled at reading my opponents in all types of situations as we faced off across the green felt. There were in general two types of players in a situation of dealing with a hand that was originally strong but as the hand progressed had become weaker. The first category of players would attempt to minimise their losses; poker is in fact a game of minimising losses and maximising wins. You can minimise your losses in many ways; you can get out...

Dear Birthmom, You don’t know me, but you saved me. As I’m writing this, I’m trying, as I have so many times, to picture your face. Nothing comes to mind. It’s a void that’s been there all of my life. Your eyes, your nose, your hair, your skin. I have no idea what you look like. When I see my reflection, I know you’re in the face that is looking back at me. I searched for you years ago after I graduated with my Master’s Degree. My heart longed to simply tell you how grateful I am. I wanted to...

It is ironic when Democrats complain about sensational use of language. Thanks to progressives, practically every white person in America has been labelled a racist. But now Democrats are screaming because Republican Sen. John Kennedy suggested that Saule Omarova, whom President Joe Biden has nominated to head the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency -- the nation's top banking regulator -- might be a communist. Kennedy opened his questioning of Omarova at her Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs confirmation hearing asking if he should call her "professor or comrade." Distinct from the labels and charges we...

Like many people, I followed the Kyle Rittenhouse trial out of Kenosha, Wisconsin fairly closely over the past several weeks. As discussed in Jane’s post on Sunday, that trial proved to be a riveting instance of a totally false and racialized progressive narrative (“white supremacist vigilante crossed state lines with illegal firearm to go on shooting spree against innocent mostly peaceful BLM protesters”) getting completely contradicted by incontestable facts (mostly videos) introduced in evidence at the trial. But following the Rittenhouse trial has inherently meant little time left to follow another high-profile trial unfolding simultaneously in Brunswick, Georgia — the...

Motovun (Croatia) (AFP) – The sound of paws scurrying along the forest floor echoes through Croatia's northwestern woods, where the hunt for truffles is being threatened by climate change and deforestation -- stirring fears that the country's gastronomic goldmine may be at risk. The delicate microclimate in the picturesque Istria peninsula's forests has long been famed for producing some of the finest white truffles, which this year fetched up to 2,500 euros ($2,860) per kilo. But the increase in temperatures and lower precipitation levels linked to climate change along with a shrinking water table and habitat loss could throw off...

After Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted for self-defense in the death of two men who attacked him during a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the one thing that was guaranteed to outrage the liberal media mob was Rittenhouse doing a "victory lap" on Tucker Carlson's top-rated Fox show. CNN's pretentiously superior Oliver Darcy was revolted by Carlson's praise: "Kyle Rittenhouse struck us as bright, decent, sincere, dutiful, and hardworking." The Fox host added he's "exactly the kind of person you would want many more of in your country. He's not especially political. He never wanted to be the symbol of anything." But...

How does playing partisan politics interfere with enforcing the law? Let’s examine the massacre at Parkland High in 2018. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, once comprised of the best and brightest in law enforcement, has for some time now been more concerned with pushing the Democrat agenda than stopping criminals and terrorists. The list of recent FBI failures is well-known and extensive. Our feeble Feebs failed to stop the first bombing of the World Trade Center, the 9/11 attacks, the Fort Hood slaughter, the Orlando nightclub shooting, the San Bernardino massacre, and the sexual abuse of underage female Olympic gymnasts....

In the days after the Democratic Party’s collapse in the Virginia governor’s race, party strategists descended on the commonwealth to figure out what went wrong and understand just how bad the national outlook might be next year. What they discovered, largely through focus groups and polling, was even worse than expected. The problems cut far deeper than the failings of their gubernatorial nominee, Terry McAuliffe, or President Joe Biden’s flagging approval ratings. Rather, the Democratic Party’s entire brand was a wreck. “Voters couldn’t name anything that Democrats had done, except a few who said we passed the infrastructure bill,” the...

Remember when Joe Biden ran for president in what commentators called the "centrist" lane of the Democratic primaries? The idea was that a "moderate" like Biden, unlike rival Bernie Sanders, would not push radical plans to completely change American society. That would reassure non-progressive Democrats, and independents, too, that Biden would be a safe choice for president. They didn't want to remake the world. They just wanted things to get better. You could see the difference in the Democratic debates. To take one example, at a debate in November 2019, Sanders urged people to join him "if you want to...
